RE: Keyword Difficulty Tool Problems?
We've got a known glitch with this right now, and will get updating the known issues page shortly. Sorry I don't have a better answer at the moment, but it just cropped up.

RE: How many links would you need to rank up in page rank?
I'd start with our guide to link building at http://www.seomoz.org/beginners-guide-to-seo/growing-popularity-and-links and also check out our blog posts about link building at http://www.seomoz.org/blog/category/link-building

RE: Why are organic search results vastly different on Bing, Google and Yahoo Search
The search engines generally personalize your search results, based on a number of factors -- information from if you are signed in (even to gmail), your previous search history, and your location, for just a few. Different browsers would have different histories and different accounts, which helps explain the different results. Generally, try to use an incognito window of a browser to search, to help minimize personalization.
Bing and Yahoo use the same algorithm and index, so the results there should be fairly similar. Google uses a different a algorithm and index (and tends to have more pages indexed than Bing), so its results will be different.
If you haven't yet, verify your website in Google and Bing Webmaster Tools. They will help tell you of any problems that they spot with your site.

RE: What Are The Page Linking Options?
An alt image tag is there to describe the image if you can't show the image, like if someone was browsing using a screenreader. It is ultimately there to help the user. Text and background the same color is there to serve the search engines one thing while the user sees another thing, which is not OK by any of their guidelines.

RE: Relative paths vs absolute paths for links - is there a difference?
However, if you use absolute URLs, if your content gets ripped off you have links back to your own content now, and people can know it's your content. It can also help to force http or https.

RE: Google's spell check recognize a keyword with volume
No ideas, but wanted to say it's great to see you in Q&A again!
-
RE: Page title vs page element
In this case, the title element probably means the title tag. Was this with the SEOmoz report? If so, you can send a note via the feedback button at the left of the screen and mention that changing some language could make it a bit less confusing for people.

RE: How often does site explorer update.
Hi John! OSE usually updates once a month. The last update was February 27th, and we've had a delay in releasing the next update (it'll be about a month late). For some detailed information about the updates and this delay, please read the blog post at http://www.seomoz.org/blog/linkscape-index-delay-explained

RE: What our peoples list from from 1 to 10 the most important "on page" Factors
You might also be interested in the 2011 ranking factors report that SEOmoz did with experts in the field. http://www.seomoz.org/blog/new-edition-ranking-factors-for-2011-live
For your question, you didn't state what type of importance -- I'm guessing importance for SEO in general, but it could also be taken to mean importance for conversions, importance for Google, etc.

RE: Is having an identical title, h1 and url considered "over optimization"? Is it better to vary?
Often, the search engines prefer to not index search results, so that's something to consider as well.

Hi Michael,
What did you and the client end up deciding? Do you have any lessons learned or anything interesting to share? We'd love to hear it!

RE: Receiving incapsula error codes when trying to respond to questions
Hi! If this happens again, please take a screenshot, and send a note to help@moz.com. Include in text in the email the incident number (it'll be 10-20 digits) too. From there, we'll be able to look up what is happening. Thanks!

RE: OSE question
Unfortunately, there has been a delay. We've posted information on the SEOmoz blog about it at http://www.seomoz.org/blog/linkscape-index-delay-explained.

RE: How can I submit a sitemap to moz?
Actually, Moz Analytics does not require GA to work properly, though it does help.
-
RE: Why is this url showing as "not crawled" on opensiteexplorer, but still showing up in Google's index?
Open Site Explorer is its own crawler, and is separate from the Google index. OSE just may not have crawled that particular page yet.

RE: My trial just expired and I had forgotten to cancel. And $99 debited from my account.
Hi! I see you've sent in a request to our help desk as well, which is the best place for this kind of request. Right now, it's 7:00 on a Sunday morning, so it may be a little bit before you get a response from our help team (I believe we have people checking the queue on a Sunday, but it is a reduced staff on the weekends), but we will be getting back to you.

RE: SEOMoz Crawling Only 1 Page
Hi! The help team has written a post about the most common reasons this happens. Check it out at http://seomoz.zendesk.com/entries/409821-why-isn-t-my-site-being-crawled-you-only-crawled-one-page and if that doesn't solve your problem, send them an email at help@seomoz.org and they'll help you figure it out. Thanks!

RE: Is a 301 to a 301 ok?
I believe the original poster has just one site and is taking about individual pages within the site.

RE: How does MOZ assign a keyword to a page in the On Page Grades by Keyword Ranking
The keywords are decided by what is showing in the top 50 results for that keyword. We have some more details about the On Page Grader at http://moz.com/help/pro/on-page-reports

RE: What tool do you use to check for URLs not indexed?
That will tell you the number indexed, but it still doesn't tell you which of those URLs are or are not indexed. I think we all wish it would!

RE: Can't add "Custom links" in my Moz Profile

RE: How can i get seomoz to crawl a campaign on demand
You can do an on-demand crawl for up to 3000 URLs at http://pro.seomoz.org/tools/crawl-test.

RE: No matter what I do, my website isn't showing up in search results. What's happening?
Is your website showing up if you do a search on the domain name? Is it showing up in any of the search engines? Trying to figure out here if it's an issue with it being crawled/indexed, or if it's an issue with not ranking but actually being in the index.
-
RE: Everything is empty, no stats displayed for 3 days. How long it takes for data to appear?
Often the questions we get are ones that other users are able to answer before a help desk employee can get to them, and this way several people can see the answer as well.
There are sometimes downsides, such as right now when there's an individual problem that needs direct attention by the help desk. However, often the question is more like "how do I unarchive a campaign" and the question will get an answer in minutes, even at 2 in the morning Seattle time, because another user is online and able to answer.

RE: Discrepency between # of pages and # of pages indexed
Do you have areas of your site that are distinctively different in type, such as category pages and individual item pages, or individual item pages and user submitted content?
What I'm getting at is trying to find if there's a certain type of page that Google isn't indexing. If you have distinct types of pages, you can create separate site maps (one for each type of content) and see if one type of content is being indexed better than another. It's more of a diagnostics tool that a solution, but I've found it helpful for sites of that size and larger in the past.
As other people have said, it's also a new site, so the lack of links could be hindering things as well.

RE: Is there still a way to put in a support ticket with Moz. I cannot find it on the site.
I see there's a link from the Help Hub. If you go there, there's a link to Contact Help.

Andrea is correct. It's not a feature right now, but it is on our list. We have more information available at http://seomoz.zendesk.com/entries/20199538-is-there-a-way-i-could-add-another-user-to-access-my-pro-account.

RE: Time sensitive: HELP! We are having a problem doing a 301 redirect.....what can we do instead?
We're accepting private questions until next Friday, and will answer all that we get. It may take a couple to a few days for a response, since everyone is trying to get in their last private question, but it's probably the best option for your right now.

RE: No GA connection

RE: How do you keep your SEOMOZ Status when you go from one agency to another?
We have considered this. While I don't believe we have any type of solution in place right now, we have plans for a better solution in the future.

RE: Campaign crawl re - schedule
You can do a custom crawl at http://pro.seomoz.org/tools/crawl-test of 3000 URLs that might help you get started.
-
RE: Client hell bent on grabbing a competitive .net domain
I don't know if these are sample or actual domains, but also consider if there is a chance of any legal implications of choosing a similar domain -- for example if you tried to register google.co and put up a search engine, Google would have issues with that.

RE: Can MOZ crawl our website twice in a week?
Yes, the manual crawl test is what you'll need to use in this situation.
-
RE: SEO tips for RSS feeds?
What Ryan means is that when you write an article and link to your own site, be sure to use the full "http://www.sitename.com/page-im-linking-to" instead of just "/page-im-linking-to". The first one includes the full URL, which means that if someone else puts it on their site, it will still link to you. Most of the scrapers are lazy, and don't replace those links.

RE: Is this a legitimate offer?
What is your geography? North Dakota versus Los Angeles also makes a difference with this question.

RE: What is the best way to optimize/setup a teaser "coming soon" page for a new product launch?
I wouldn't know. Never have heard of a company that ever tried to give out any teases when anything new is coming along.

RE: Trending Bugs in Moz Analytics
Hello Brett,
I'm glad things are working for you now. During a birthday party, I responded to you on Twitter via my phone and directed you here, and checked several times and didn't hear back from you with further questions. I also responded to your private message on Facebook, and just again responded to you on Twitter (before I saw this, as your tweets didn't indicate things we working).
In the first paragraph of this Q&A, we do list the contact form for our help desk. I'll bold it to help make sure that the contact information is easier to spot.
I do apologize for the difficulties you've had, and glad things are working for you now.

RE: Internal Linking Structure - help Req'd
If you don't know the type of redirect, you can use a server header checker (search that via Google) and put in your home page. The tool will tell you the type of redirect. Or, you can share your URL here and we'll take a look at it for you.

RE: Scammer or Legit?
And Lee Gilbert has a lot in common with John Hine, at least in the way they use some of the same exact phrases on their website. http://martialartsbusinessacademy.com/meet-john-hine-2/ =]
Agreed that it doesn't sound very legit at all, and I don't think you're being too harsh. I found the above when I started taking random phrases from the website and seeing if they were copied elsewhere on the web.

RE: Need to Add Moz code?
David is spot-on here. You don't need to add any code, but Moz Analytics does work best if you connect it to your existing Google Analytics account.

RE: Webmaster Tools 404 Errors Pages Never Created
You should be able to see the referring URL for the 404 pages in your GWT account. If someone links to you and does a typo on the end of the URL, or puts your URL in parenthesis and the final ) gets hyperlinked, that can cause a 404.
