Agreed! Joseph, depending on how well you're already meeting your goals, you may not want to get too hung up on that one metric.

That said, the only way to raise your total link count is to earn some more links. As Justin noted, there are plenty of less-than-legitimate ways to do that, but if you use them you have to expect a penalty sooner or later. It's not worth it. If you haven't, I'd recommend checking out our Beginner's Guide to Link Building, which has a lot of sustainable, legitimate ideas.

Agreed! Terrysun, you may also want to read through Cyrus Shepard's "Keywords to Concepts." It's getting to be a bit on the older side, but it's a huge help in understanding how you don't necessarily have to rely on your exact-match keywords.

It's also possible that the drop reflects the difficulties we had with the past index. Rand explained a bit more in this thread:

We've actually got a lot of materials that should be able to help you out. I'd definitely recommend you read our Beginner's Guide to SEO, and even though it's getting to be on the older side, Cyrus Shepard's How to Rank. You'll be able to find a lot more resources on our Learn SEO page, as well.

Because there's so much that can go into an SEO strategy, I'm afraid it'd really be a lot to ask community members here to guide you through every step. We have a list of recommended consulting companies if you'd like to hire a consultant, though.

I'd add that you'll want to make sure the directory is reasonably relevant to your business, and likely to send traffic to your site. Any ranking boost you'd get from a free directory would be negligible, so if it's not likely to send qualified visitors, I wouldn't bother.

Really good point. The best thing you could do would be simply to not have a unique page for each size of the same product.

It's not likely to be a huge issue, in my opinion. The problem with this sort of duplicate content is simply that the search engines won't necessarily know which page to serve in response to a user's query, so people searching for you could end up being served the wrong result (or no result from you). It ties into my all-time favorite piece of SEO advice: Don't make Google think.

Personally, I'd add a canonical link to each of those pages pointing to the one you'd prefer folks to see in the search results.

One thing that might help is our own Fresh Web Explorer tool. With the right combination of search operators you can identify those blogs (and bloggers) who are influencers in your industry, and reach out accordingly. I'd recommend watching these two videos on the tool:

Bio search in Followerwonk could be very useful, too, as you can search every Twitter users for folks who have your industry keywords on their profiles. Add the word "blogger" and it could be even more useful!

I can't think of a reason to include your website address in an H1 tag at all. H1 is intended to indicate the topic of the content on a page; it functions as a headline similarly to how a headline on a newspaper page works. That's why it's a somewhat decent place to place keywords—it indicates to search engines what the page is about.

For a homepage, I'd recommend using your brand name, in text. If there are other relevant keywords, use them as long as it appears natural and informative to visitors. But actually placing your URL in an H1 is unlikely to have any value for you.

PA is actually calculated very similarly to DA. The difference is that it looks at the link profile for the single page rather than the link profile for the entire domain.

If there's no information on the page in OSE, that'd indicate that the page is too new to have been crawled yet. Whether it'll be in the next index update will depend on just how new it is; you may have to wait one more to get a PA score for it.

Dirk is absolutely right—the Duplicate Content notice in Crawl Diagnostics indicates that our crawler is fining those instances of duplicate content on your site. As he suggests, I'd definitely recommend using the CSV to figure out which pages are showing up as duplicates.

In my opinion, it depends on the network. A tweet, for example, is said to have a total lifespan of 18-24 minutes; if a follower doesn't see it during that window, it's extremely likely they simply won't see it. For any Moz Blog or YouMoz post, we'll tweet a total of 12 times over six days—once each AM and once each PM, never tweeting the same hour twice. Posts for other sorts of content vary.

Of course, our social following is massive and globe-spanning, so a tweet during business hours where we're located in Seattle, WA, USA is unlikely to be seen by any of our UK followers, for example. I'd recommend testing your own post frequency to see what works best for your audience.

Just Discovered Links in Open Site Explorer could help, as well. I'm not personally aware of any tool that does all of what you're looking for, though.

Hard to say until you try! And remember, if your content is good it will attract links, which is really the best kind of link building.

I love the answers you've already gotten, and as I so frequently do, I recommend checking out Cyrus Shepard's "Keywords to Concepts" to get an understanding of how topical search works. Yes, the keywords you've brainstormed may individually have low search volume, but you may find there's a lot of potential organic traffic outside of those terms.

I recommend this all the time, but one thing that may shed some light is the Full SERP Report in the Keyword Difficulty Tool in Moz Pro. It can give you a sense of what your competitors on the SERPs are doing that's helping them pull ahead.
