Without a URL we cannot really help you. However you may be dealing with the Google dance. Also be sure to check for your rankings without being logged into any google account and be sure to clear you browsers settings prior to making your search.

RE: Unnatural Link Warning - What to Do??
Yes new links will help out. However if you follow the article I mentioned it has a great 6 month plan to regaining trust.
http://www.seomoz.org/blog/the-6-month-link-building-plan-for-an-established-website
I would highly recommend using this article as your 6 month plan it has everything you need in it and in detail.

RE: Unnatural Link Warning - What to Do??
I've heard many opinions on this matter, to start off Google sent these warnings to many people and also mentioned to not worry: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/googles-unnatural-links-warnings.
Some people say to just start building good links and forget the bad links.
However, some people say to clean them up using:
Since you are working on an existing site I recommend reading this article:

RE: Can I get your input on keyword usage in the title tag
Yes, broad is not as measurable as [exact]. Especially when you are targeting local keywords.
-
RE: Meta Keywords: Should we use them or not?
Actually Google does not mention anything about meta keywords only that they do not use this as a ranking factor. Bing however looks at this as an attempt to manipulate their SERPs. Also, using meta keywords will give your competitors a free link research goto for your site. I would not recommend using them.
-
RE: Can I get your input on keyword usage in the title tag
It's best to build your site for your users and not try to manipulate the search engines. I would go for one keyword per page two max. Placing two keywords in a title may look funny in most cases. In your case "IT Support Los Angeles" has the highest local search volume 320 out of the keywords you mentioned.
Adding spammy footer links does not help your users and most likely is not helping your competitors (it may have in the past) rather putting their sites in danger.
I understand that you want to rank for multipul locations, which can be done without spamming. For a good internal linking structure watch this video: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/smarter-internal-linking-whiteboard-friday

RE: Can I get your input on keyword usage in the title tag
I like to start my keyword research by examining the search volume and competitive organic rates on SEOmoz.
http://pro.seomoz.org/tools/keyword-difficulty (pro members only)
| IT Services Los Angeles | 54 | 165,000 | 165,000 | 170 | 170 | Full Analysis |
| Los Angeles IT Services | 60 | unavailable | unavailable | unavailable | unavailable | Full Analysis |
| IT Support Los Angeles | 53 | 22,200 | 22,200 | 320 | 320 | Full Analysis |
| Los Angeles IT Support | 53 | 22,200 | 22,200 | 91 | 110 | Full Analysis |out of your selected keywords I would use "IT Support Los Angeles" as your main keyword (highest local exact search volume with lower competition level). Use this with diversity in you title, description, H1, and at least 2 times in your body one regular and one bold or italic.
Here's a good title for your site: "IT Support Los Angeles by [Company name]"

RE: The keyword ranking report takes into account all my website urls? Can I specify the URLs where I want to track the keywords?
I would check your rankings manually on your browser to compare. For the most part SEOmoz is on point, however they are searching from within seattle.
Be sure to clear you browser history and log out of any google account before performing your search within your browser.

RE: How dangerous are duplicate page titles
Someone asked this here in the past: http://www.seomoz.org/q/avoiding-duplicate-page-title-and-duplicate-page-content-best-practices this should help...

RE: What are the best ways of improving our domain authority?
Links from other authoritative sites that are relavent and/or entertaining to your audience will help you gain authority. As long as the users that get to your site and like what they see, share what they see (give you an endorsement) and or bookmark it, you gain authority. Think of it from a user perspective, if you entertain them, educate them, or offer them something of interest they will naturally link to your site.
The anchors to your site must look natural as well. be sure that your inbound links are built mostly of your URL or brand name.

RE: % of the time you find email addresses - broken link building
You can always use who.is to find out who the site is registered to I also remember this question being asked in the past: http://www.seomoz.org/q/finding-specific-name-to-send-email-to-broken-link-building

RE: How can I learn what are the most popular keyword phrases?
Here is a link to Google Keyword research tool. Be sure to check the box on the left to see [exact] search volume: https://adwords.google.com/o/Targeting/Explorer?__c=1000000000&__u=1000000000&ideaRequestType=KEYWORD_IDEAS
Also, I do not recommend making your title, URL, and H1 exact because that does not look natural (Panda update). I do recommend including them but with variations, build your site for your users not for the search engine spiders.

RE: Deciding Between 2 Domains for a Real Estate Website... What is Your Opinion?
Kind of long however if you get 3 leads from here a month and close 4 houses a year that is a pretty high ROI... These houses are multi million each if I am not mistaking.
Its not about the quantity of leads in this case it is more about the value of each lead. There are 28 searches a month which is 336 per year. If you can close 1% of this it's a great amount of money... Correct?

RE: 132 pages reported as having Duplicate Page Content but I'm not sure where to go to fix the problems?
As Irvine Weiss is mentioning the way to do it is to pick your best page and do a canonical tag directing to it. here is a great read:http://www.seomoz.org/blog/canonical-url-tag-the-most-important-advancement-in-seo-practices-since-sitemaps
-
RE: 132 pages reported as having Duplicate Page Content but I'm not sure where to go to fix the problems?
If you copy and paste the text into google you will find that:
<cite>www.ccisolutions.com/StoreFront/category/cd-duplicators</cite>andwww.ccisound.com/StoreFront/category/cd-duplicators have the same exact content on them.
This is duplicate content.
if you paste this line of text into google: "When it comes to Acoustics, Sound, Video and Lighting Systems for Church, Presentation & Entertainment Venues expectations are always high and success is never negotiable. That's why prominent venues have turned to CCI Solutions for creative answers to their complex challenges."
You will find several URLs with the same content.
-
RE: Deciding Between 2 Domains for a Real Estate Website... What is Your Opinion?
You are searching on a broad scale. If you look to the left of the adwords tool, check the box that says [exact] the search volume for this exact phrase is 16
-
RE: Deciding Between 2 Domains for a Real Estate Website... What is Your Opinion?
Miamisrealtor is shorter and easier to remember. (If you do some keyword research you will find that both: "Miamis realtor" and "Water front real estate miami" have barely any search volume https://adwords.google.com/o/Targeting/Explorer?__c=1000000000&__u=1000000000&ideaRequestType=KEYWORD_IDEAS)Having a URL that your customers can remember and wont have problems typing is better in this case.
Exact domain are best however they are only best if there is traffic for the term.

RE: Link Building - Post Penguin
If you go thru the SEOmoz blog you will find that as long as your are giving value to users on the web you are doing the right thing.
However...
Build it it and they will come does not work. in order to win results you will need your content to reach relevant/interested/entertained people on the web. This is done via social networks. If you find some authoritative people in your niche ask them if they want to add a quote to your article, or maybe mention them and let them know that you are mentioning them. Get them involved and then after you publish your article they are more likely to share it.
Here is a good read on how to reach people: http://www.seomoz.org/ugc/binbound-marketing-how-to-stop-your-outreach-getting-trashed

RE: Panda 3.7 recovery?
Hi Ian,
From a quick glance I can see that your internal linking structure is extreme: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/smarter-internal-linking-whiteboard-friday
Watch this video it should help you get some ideas.
Also read this: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/internal-linking-strategies-for-2012-and-beyond
-
RE: Panda 3.7 recovery?
Panda 3.7 was not only a duplicate content issue, it was targeting over optimization, having 5,000 words on a page and keeping your keywords at a 10% ratio is over optimizing, having tons of internal links in your footer to pages you are trying to rank for can be overopting. In other words if you are creating your pages for a search engine you will not rank in the search engine. Unfortunately without your URL it is hard to give an exact answer to your question.
-
RE: Link Building - Post Penguin
The key is a natural linking portfolio. Now that you know how to determine a good site (authoritative) from a bad site (spammy or unnatural) you can start building quality links.
How to make it look natural?
Link to your URL and your brand rather than your exact keyword 70% of the time. 20% long tail linking and 10% Exact linking. This is a safe profile that will help your site look natural.

RE: Google Experiment

RE: Google and Wikipedia
you can be logged out and still see these results. In order to see real results you will need to clear the browsers data of the browser you are using.
And yes you can breath again, lol this has happend to me soo many times in the past...
-
RE: Google and Wikipedia
I think you may have your personal settings saved on your browser. I am only seeing one result from Wikipedia and thats for "loudspeakers"... For "Speaker" I dont even see wikipedia on the first page.
Try doing the search again from another browser. Or you can open an incognito window (only in chrome) or private browsing (Only in Firefox) and redo the search.

RE: .me.uk or .com domain with hyphen?
One hyphen is no biggy. As long as the users like it, it should be fine. However if you are opting for a specific phrase "restaurant in england" I would go for a domain like restaurantinengland.com with no hyphens. Many people have said that exact domain does not matter... I highly disagree, I have seen and still see many exact domain websites ranking for their domain, simply because when linking to your brand name and your anchored terms it looks natural.
Your inbound linking profile will look like and can be built up of: restaurantinengland.com ; resturant in england both of these terms target you key phrase and your brand name.

RE: List of Best SEO forums
I like to use http://www.v7n.com/forums/. Problem with most of these forums is that people over saturate each thread with nonsense.
-
RE: Best keyword research software / approach for blogging?
The way I like to start off for keyword research is by going into google keywords tool and typing in the main keyword for the terms I am opting. Also be sure to check [exact] on the left to see exact results for each keyword. Once you type this in click on local monthly searches to organize these phrases. I organize mine so that I can see which terms fit the project best and will most likely be a conversion.
Having the "keyword" followed by "quote" is more likely to convert into a quote.
Using Googles keyword tool you will get you good suggestions and also help you see if there is a good ROI.
I notice that you have an SEOmoz account... Why not use it?
To keep track of your keywords simply add your site as a new campaign to your SEOmoz account (basic pro member gets 5 sites) and add all your keywords. SEOmoz will send you an email every week with the terms you've selected. You can also include your analytics so that you can see if your site is gaining enough traffic from a selected phrase this is helpful because once you realize that a keyword is in spot 5 on Google and is getting you a great amount of converting traffic you may want to focus on getting that specific phrase more ranking.

RE: Can anyone shed some light on mobile inbound call tracking?
Oh I see. What we did to track incoming calls is set up a phone number which keeps track of every inbound call, (This was for a locksmith related company so we also recorded every call.)we used an 8x8 service and we set up an app so that any incoming phone call would go directly to the service providers phone, and we keep track of every job that our number provides.

RE: Global Search Count
Not necessarily they are different searches. Global numbers are an estimate of how many people search for that term worldwide, however Google.com is not the same as Google.co.uk they are different Google search engines for different continents.

RE: How can i write content rich descriptions?
See what your competitors are doing, I like to check what they do for their PPC because they are paying money per click, im sure they are experimenting with best conversion.
-
RE: Global Search Count
What do you mean? Exact local search count is for your continent and Exact global search count is for the keyword world wide.
If it says your exact local search count is 2000 that means 2000 people are searching for that exact keyword in your continent.

RE: Will Scrape Content Become Unique Content
Scraping content can only be beneficial if you can add some value to it. Ask yourself:
_Who is your audience? _
Who are you?
What do you sell?
What can you offer?
What do you do that no one else does?
Once you understand all these questions, create your content with all the answers in mind. Everyone has to scrape some content for ideas, without reading (scraping) from other sources one can not learn. However you must add some type of quality (something unique) to your content keeping your audience in mind.

RE: How to handle footer links after Penguin?
If it makes sense to place a link place it. Sitewide links (footer links) should be links, which your users are most likely going to look for, by placing links in the footer you are making it easier for your user to contact you, or find what it is they came to your site for. Abusing sitewide links (footer links) is having all your keywords or all the cities you service written for the search engine.
Here is a resent whiteboard Friday that will explain in detail how to link a site where it makes sense: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/smarter-internal-linking-whiteboard-friday

RE: How to find keyword search engine results from previous weeks?
Yes. You must create a campaign with your keywords to be recorded and after every week if you scroll over the keyword, two small images will pop up the first is for keyword tracking and the second is for top SERP sites for that keyword.
Hope this helps.

RE: Google Places, Optimization when in the Suburb of a Metroplex?
You can add the areas that you service in your google places account. You will need to log into your Google account associated with your Google places listing and add the areas that you do business in. It is best to add each city rather than a proximity from the business.
Before doing this I would make sure you let Google know that you have changed the address. You can do this in your google + places listing (must login with the user associated with the places account)

RE: Featured citations vs. regular citations
Yes we are making good talk I was under the impression that when I sign up for Yext they automatically get me featured listings in all those directories... Why would anyone pay $450 for a couple hours of work? crazy... Anyways, if I did manually submit everywhere and decid to get featured in a few directories, would being listed higher on these pages help with Google Local efforts?
Again thank you very much, you are awesome!

RE: Can a competitor close your business on Google Places?
Yeah it's not fun... I have been contemplating a $5 Fiverr deal for 25 good reviews on G+ just to cover up all this spam. I don't like cheating/lying/spamming however I want to cover up all this spam...
-
RE: Featured citations vs. regular citations
Hi again Miriam
I was referring to a regular free listing vs. a premium listing. If I were to use Yext for all my local citations I would get premium listings... Would these listings have a higher impact on my Google Local efforts?
-
RE: Can a competitor close your business on Google Places?
Actually all these spam attacks were done after the migration, people can just use a proxy and create ten Google accounts on 10 IPs. IMO Google should send a letter to every users house for verification (At lease the people who are interested in leaving reviews) and a company should be abe to rebuttal a fake review or report a review from a user they were never associated with.
-
RE: Redirect or Rewrite? 2 pages ranking
If both sites have clean profiles you can a) get one site on top of the SERP by 301 redirecting the juice from imageworksstudio/custom/CustomWebDesign to imageworksstudio/CustomWebDesign or B) Get both websites on the first page of the SERP. This would take more time and effort.
-
RE: Can a competitor close your business on Google Places?
Thank you for this helpful answer. The listing was being spammed and Google is placing the listing back up. Now that Google is going to place the listing back, do you think it will be more immune to being attacked again?
