Hi Rand,
In the Netherlands/ Belgium I get no data.. I understand Moz will expand this tool worldwide. Any idea when we can go nuts?
Thanx in advance
Hi Krishna,
We also get backlinks by making profiles on business overview sites (E.g. Yelp) and get certificates for safe shopping etc... There's a great article on no-follow links on https://moz.com/blog/the-hidden-power-of-nofollow-links
Good luck!

Hi John,
For Google My Business the most important requirement is that you can receive mail (oldstyle & printed) at the adress to validate your business. I would thus surely sign up for it for the new business.
Good luck!

Hi,
I would always stay away from duplicate content. My choice would be to post a link to the artikel on the community subdomain and an introduction with unique content. This way the link gives some internal linkjuice to the post.
Good luck!

Hi Nasoj,
Moz is a good tool for you for numerous reasons. Without traffic it doesn't have much to show but from the day you go live it will help you with: (local!) rankings, insights on potential keywords, evaluate competition, suggestions on set-up/content for landing pages, crawl errors, linkbuilding and more...
Question: Why would you be using Adsense on your site? It makes it less trustworthy for visitors and Google. Unless you mean Adwords?
Good luck with the launch of your site!
Tymen
Hi mr Trelux & Claire,
`php
the_post();if( is_home()){?><meta< span="">name="description"content="YOUR DESCRIPTION"/>php } elseif (is_single()){?> php the_excerpt();?>" /> php }?></meta<>`
That is de code i use for it. With Wordpress here are handy tools like Yoast but I see you are not on WP.
Good luck!
Hi,
I added independent reviews because the Google reviews didnt show anymore. They provide me a feed which I implement in the footer. Than it will show up on every page and so in every result in de SERP's. The feed looks like below.
Most important are the &nor=20 (the number of reviews it should take from the feed.) and the**&Basescore=5** since this is the 5star Rich Snippet Google uses.
Thus I would'nt go for the Google rating but an independant rating company who will have a plugin most likely for the most common CMS's.
It takes a few weeks form them to be in place for all results but its worth the investment in time and money :). Good luck with it!
Hi Cindy, Going over to https://yourdomain.com DOES have a positive effect on SEO. Maybe it is wise to do that since you are changing anyway.
Regards, Tymen
In addition to Ria: Yoast will give you the option to give priory to pages. This is a % where you can devaluate the tag pages. http://kb.yoast.com/article/216-can-i-change-the-sitemap-priority.
Good luck!
Hi Jozsef,
The sooner you put the content online the sooner you will start ranking with it. So if the content, url and metadecriptions/ tags stay the same it wouldnt harm to just post it.
Hi Mark,
To have the image there withe the right ALT tag also contributes to the overall value of the page for that specific keyword. As Tim mentions I would not link to the image at all unless you want it to be seen larger. In several mobile versions this image linking goed wrong and it will harm the experience people have on your site. I only use linking when I write blogs about specific products I let the images link directly to the product page.
Good luck!

Hi Michael,
I use http://quirktools.com/screenfly/ If you look good there on the different devices, you are good imo. I also regularly check GA to see how the different devices score.
Good luck! Regards,

Hi Radi,
I would get rid of all punctuation except for "-" as it is seen as a space. If you use othe punctuations they are ignored. When added in a query the results are without the punctuation. Same goes for Bing.

Makes it easier for you I hope

Hi Jon,
Google allows several forms of structured Data which you can find on https://developers.google.com/structured-data/rich-snippets/. I just have the Reviews in place and this works very well for me. There's a handy tool to see if you meet Googles regulations on https://developers.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool/
With Wikipedia's example I indeed think google is playing around. If your client is ont the Whiskey business aswell I would suggest you enrich the Wikipedia page for them :).
Good luck!

Hi P.
You can not run a campaign with Analytics. You can run a campaign with Adwords using data from Analytics which is a very good idea! I personally retarget on different groups; "visit shopping cart", "more than 5 min on site" "suggested target from analytics" etc...
Good luck!

Hi Matt,
I am also writing for a shop with a large range of products and categories. Topics that work well for me is "How To...." This attracts good quality traffic and there are always people that see the article and than instead of doing ot themselfes decide to buy the product because it looks so good.
Good luck!
Hi Jonas,
Yes it will affect your rankings; in a positive way ;). You're all set i think!
Hi Anirban,
If you look at https://support.google.com/news/publisher/answer/68323?hl=en that should help you. I applied once and it took a long tome to get it included. Good luck!

Hi Jonas,
I work with Woocommerce aswell and had/ have the same issues. I Made speciffic Landing Pages for most important keywords instead of using the category pages. Than redirect it to that page. Main reason was that my template didnt have good options for adding content to category pages. I rank well for the terms i made specific pages for. Content I do is more in the range of 200-300 words. If you add Yoast plugin it will help you out a great lot with the pages and the scores.
Last tip: I would go over to https:// it works really well for me and with Woocommerce you can easily step over without loss in rankings.
So; you're on the right track :).
Good luck!

Hi Craig,
Thanx for the compliment. I talked to a develepor of Woothemes/ Woocomerce last week on a fair and he pointed me to: https://www.woothemes.com/storefront/ it promises to be the most flexible them up till now and your wish should definitely be possible with that. You can also contact them with your wishes and I am sure they can help you further. Best of luck with the Sunglasses :).
Tymen
Hi Craig,
I also have products with variations and have them on one product page and than you can select the product variations such as colour and size.
I work with Woocommerce and that works fine for me. I chose this for better SEO options and fbecause Magento 2.0 looks a lot like it but is slower and far more expensive to maintain. The different SKU's are seen as different products but or on one product page. So I have 500+ product pages which result in over 3000 different SKU's.
My site is https://eppinga.nl so take a look around. If you have more questions don't hesitate to contact me.

Tymen
Hi,
If you go to Search Console> Search Traffic> Search Analytics
You can select to also view Position
This gives you an average position in SERP's for a keyword. This is handy if you want to get Data from a period of time when you didnt use Moz Pro yet as mentioned below.
Regards,
Hi Jonathan,
I am also in the Woodbusiness and my set-up is as follows:
Firstly I focus on the main category pages: www.company.com/categoryA etc..
Than I made for every wood specie pages aswell: company.com/woodA etc.. This generates good traffic from people who are looking for specific products in a specific type of wood
Now I am mainly focussing on product pages for my experience is that how more specific the traffic is the better the conversion rates become:
company.com/category1/woodA-productA-size
My product names all begin with the sort of wood than the product (door, table, etc...) and last the exact measurements.
This works better for me than the subcategories.
Hope it helps. Good luck!

Hi Zero,
I use Search Console/ GA for that the rankings differ slightly from MOZ but it still is good to show clients what progress you made. It is also possible to export your MOZ rankings to a different tool like Klipfolio where you can track rankings over time.

Tymen
Hi Peasoup,
I would surely advice to not simply copy the content to the 4 different domains.
I have a few good links for you:
https://moz.com/learn/seo/cctlds more info on ccTld's
https://moz.com/community/q/duplicate-content-on-multinational-sites Exactly your issue: make sure you read the comment of Gianluca Fiorelli.
Hreflang: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/189077?hl=en
Good luck with it!
Hi John,
I use the https://moz.com/tools/seo-toolbar to quickly scan the potential and "spamminess" of a link to my site. For a more thorough look you can use the open site explorer (https://moz.com/researchtools/ose). Fact is that bad links are bad and I would definitely try to get rid of them if it is that easy as you mentioned. I also use google Search console to see which links are added for SC is more up to date than MOz. New links you can check again with the toolbar/ open site explorer from MOZ. Since you still rank 8th position on the keyword you haven't been penalized yet so I wouldnt worry too much. Indeed put some (hard) work in high quality backlinks and I am sure you will never regret it
Good luck!
Tymen
Hi Edmond,
You need need at least 30 reviews within the last 12 months, and the ratings need to be 3.5 stars minimum on average. BUT: Having these ratings doesnt garantee anything. Usually my experience is that having them in place will take about 6 weeks before they show up in the ads.
On https://services.google.com/fb/forms/SellerRatingExtensions/ Google says they should be included automatically. PS: The form on the page is for disabling the stars.
In The Netherlands Google adwords provide a very good support desk for all questions regarding your ads.
Good luck!
Tymen
Hi Heiko,
This option doesn't exist unfortunately. The only way to test this is to run 3 different ad sets I am afraid. In the Netherlands FB does some Support but they also couldn't help me.
Good luck and maybe if enough people start shouting for this (completely logical indeed) option FB will put an effort in making it.
Enjoy your weekend!
Tymen
Hi Sagar,
I found that strange at the beginning also. Moz updates slower than Search Console from Google. More on Link Index Updates you can find on: https://moz.com/help/guides/research-tools/open-site-explorer/updates
Hope it helps and don't worry ;).
Tymen
Hi John,
I had the same experience and it will not get better I'm afraid. Best FB will say is that you post a post on the page that will stop with a link to the remaining page.
Good luck!
Tymen
Hi Neil,
I would certainly reccomend to look at a domain for yourself. You can buy the template on Theme Forrest and install it (or get it installed) on the domain. Otherwise it will always be a subdomain.
Good luck!
Tymen
Hi Bas,
The change is made. Do you know if (and what) I now have to do with my Moz campaign?
Thanx in aadvance
Hi Bas, Thanx for the clear answers.
No reason to be scared so ;).
Hi all,
I am changing my hosting for legal and SEO reasons from http://www to https:// . Now I hear different stories on the redirects:
1: should i try and change my backlinks?
2: internally all links will be 301 redirected at first. Than I want to (manually) change them. It;s within Wordpress so there should be a plugin for this. Tips?
3: Will it affect my rankings and for what period? What I now know that at first it will drop little but eventually you will rank higher than before.
Thanks so much in advance!
Tymen
Hi,
WiIth Moz's Page Optimization you can Track & Monitor keywords or is that not what you mean?
regards,

Hi,
I use hotjar for that. You can do 1000 free recordings and that gives you a nice idea of the user experience.
Good luck!
Hi,
I have one blog outside my company which completely focuses on 1 keyword. I host it outside for I know that if you own and host several websites linking to each other on 1 server it can be regarded spammy.
T
Hi Jason,
I agree with Chris here. Focus on 1 domain and that will improve the rankings and DA. If you do choose to blog outside your domain I would do it on a completely different url which you host somewhere else as well.

Hi!
Big images reduce the speed on the page and speed is a(n increasingly important) ranking factor. You could use Page Speed Insights to see your overall site speed or the speed of a specific page.
Within Worpress there is also a setting to index images as a search result or not. On my site it was on and once turned off within a few weeks my overall scores increased so maybe that helps aswell.
Good luck!

Hi Faye,
What worked well for me is sign up for number of local business listings such as Google My Business (I see that you are showing up there). But also yelp, yell, and many more help to link your company to a specific location.
Did you also try to optimize the homepage for that keyword with Yoast Seo tool for Wordpress? It is a good addition to Moz.
In addition you should work on the speed of the site: https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.devonshiredentalcare.co.uk%2F&tab=mobile
This becomes increasingly important to the rankings.
Hope it helps!
Tymen
Hi Seoman,
I wouldnt use the brandname too often. I myself have it in the PageTitle so it comes with all subpages automatically. Too also use it in the metatitle is than not needed in my opinion. That works for me.
Good luck!
Tymen
Hi Tony,
Most important thing about SEO is time. It takes (a lot of) time but: hard work pays off! Im now using Moz for 4 months and it is helping me to focus on the right things and optimize my shop.
With Search Console you should be able to see links and visibility in the SERP's quicker. Combined with MOZ you have a good setup for building good quality traffic.
Good luck!
Hi Justin,
I also work with Woocommerce/ Yoast and in the settings of Yoast you go to XML Sitemaps and than the tab: taxonomies. There you can exclude the (product attributes. I had the same with all images who where indexed seperatly.
Hope this helps you!

Hi, What I see from Google in The Netherlands is:
https://support.google.com/websearch/answer/179386?p=ws_settings_location&hl=en&rd=1
Hi Dino,
Is there a green checkmark in front of it? I sometimes find it not very clear in the Onpage Grader if you do or don't measure up to the Ranking Factor. If the keyword is placed behind a domain www.domain.com/locksmith it should indeed be picked up by the Grader
Hi Owen,
Is the site in Wordpress? I once had the same problem with a site and the reason was that on the backend in WP there is a box that says "block search engines" and that was on. Needless to say this was the reason for not ranking at all. Once turned off it took about a week before the first results to show up and definitely locally you should be able to outrank the overseas ABC's.
Good luck with all!
Tymen
Hi Dino, is the keyword a single word? With more than one word you have to use the"-" in the url to separate the words. Hope it helps!
