RE: My Site Is Using A Lot of Hosting Bandwidth. Suggestions?
Hi James,
Your site loading takes quite some time. Although graphics load quickly, there is still something loading in the background.
I suggest checking out which plugins you are using and disable one by one to see what could be conflicting with the load times.
I'm not sure which CMS you are using but I suggest getting a cache plugin to make loading times more quick if its images slowing load times(probably not since graphics loaded quick).

RE: Anyone knows h1, h2, h3..h6 plugin for wordpress?
WordPress H tags are usually built into themes, so it is probably not that important.
H1 is already not as relevant as it use to be, but still good to have. H2-HX, is not really that important.
As mentioned a lot of themes and templates have these tags built in, and if you want to check, just view source on a page. Or you can use SEOmoz On-Page crawl.

RE: Does Google follow links inside a <noscript>tag?</noscript>
If its hidden, it won't be counted as a link. The user/viewer must be able to see the actual link and the robot has to be able to crawl it.
I believe WMT has a crawling option to show you what the robot sees on your page. You can perhaps create a draft page on your own site and use WMT to see if the page is crawled and if the link is seen.

RE: Does Google follow links inside a <noscript>tag?</noscript>
The bottom line is that the link is rendered at the load of the webpage. So if you already have someone with the calculator on their webpage, see if your link is there and has the ability to be clicked. If so, it should be counted as a backlink.
As long as the link is rendered at the end, and the HTML code shows the link in HTML, it should be counted as a backlink.

RE: Ambiguous Response to Google Reconsideration Request
Don't forget because you removed those links, those links that could have been helping you were the same ones you were being penalized for.
Thus if you remove those, you will not have as many links.

RE: Ambiguous Response to Google Reconsideration Request
I'm laughing at some of the responses.
My suggestion is just send off another reconsideration request. And under explanation, tell them you were unsure what they previous reconsideration reply mean't. I'm sure that should work out and couldn't hurt.
Its not like they would say, hey we are indexing your site again but for the smart--- reply we will deindex your site or vice versa.

RE: How to properly remove pages and a category from Google's index
It sounds like you want to de-index them.
Go into your robots.txt and disallow Google from the category..
It will look something like this:
User-agent: googlebot or *
Disallow: /web-design-news-all/

RE: Can I have the same item description on Amazon, eBay and my website?
I've used Amazon and eBay very often back then and between Amazon and eBay it shouldn't matter having the same description.
However, your own website should have more in depth details and should not be exactly similar to Amazon and eBay. Because although if you post the description own your site first, Amazon and eBay might just rank higher than you just because.
But from my experience, products generally have the same descriptions and details. If you create some sort of slight variation, it shouldn't be negatively effecting SEO.
My suggestion is keep Amazon and eBay same just because they rank well in the first place. For your own site, make slight variations.

RE: Non .Com or .Co Versus .ca or .fm sites - In terms of SEO value
It won't rank you as well. Penalize too harsh of a word. You will still rank but your rankings increase much more if you have a TLD, .com, .net, .org.
Of course these statements can be irrelevant if the site is a viral site. But even bit.ly moved to bitly.com(not exact reason why they changed though).
EDIT: Not to mention that the .ca or .in could be liable for Canada and India laws respectively.
But hey, if you are looking for business in Canada or India, it would be an awesome domain!

RE: Non .Com or .Co Versus .ca or .fm sites - In terms of SEO value
.com would be best but .ca and .in will most likely not work well if your target is in US.
.ca and .in is used and definitely considered when ranking. I suggest you come up with another variation of the domain and get a .com.
One of the main problems I can see off the bat is that the current owners of the sites .com, .net might already have a huge presence and it will hinder majority of your efforts because you will most likely never beat out the .com(unless its nonexistent or spam).
