How do I speak to Rand ?
-
Rand Fishkin has become a hero of mine recently I respect what he has achieved and would love to have the chance to drop him one email and ask him a few questions.
I contacted him via Google plus but I didnt received an answer I then wondered has Rand lost touch with the little people now he is a celebrity in his own right or can I actually email him directly and ask a few questions.
Will he speak to us little people
Can I get him on Facebook or my Linked In account and get a recommendation...
-
Maybe then it might be a nice idea to implement a website badge like "I talked to Rand" (Like "Talk to Chuck")
-
I hear Kenny is nearly as amazing as Rand...
-
Rand,
I must say I am truly impressed. I was going to respond to this question as you were kind enough to respond to my inbound marketing question on twitter month ago I was impressed that you responded because it shows you still love the stuff you obviously don't need the money. As a Pro member I don't want to sound like I'm kissing up too much but bravo man is always comforting to see someone who truly practices what they preach and preaches what they practice to their customers and fans.
All the best man keep up the good work,
Thomas Zickell

Big where it counts
-
But you look like a big company! that's all that matters lol
-
Well, to be fair, we're not exactly a "big" company (yet)
-
This is what I like about seomoz, I recently joined and I see that Rand takes time to talk to a lot of people and post a lot of comments, most of CEO of big companies don't do that! You only see pictures of them but not even a word. Seomoz Rules!!!!

You should run a "Who can grow the best Rand Fishkin style beard" contest.
I'd win.

Hi Garry,
I can vouch for the fact that Rand even responds to people who email him weird & crazy questions & requests...and when I say responds, I don't mean "thanks very much for your input & have a nice day".
From my own experience I can say that where warranted, it has been more like "Holy response from the whole Company Batman!" 8D
Modest as he is about his own accomplishments, there are a lot of CEO's who would do well to take a few lessons from Rand on dealing with clients.

I don't mind that one bit!

Next thing you know, SEOMoz will take off like Minecraft since Rand responds to all his fans.

Wow! You guys look identical! You should run a "Who can grow the best Rand Fishkin style beard" contest.
-
thats good to know scaling my company and recruitment is also something I am finding difficult.
-
I don't know if I'd particularly recommend my beard style - I do it because I have no jawline
Certainly cool with the blog post, though I might have to do a follow-up on some real SEO heroes and why I'm not sure I belong in that group; have made plenty of mistakes, failed to scale a consulting business in SEO, had years of debt, etc.

I was also going to ask would you be fine with me doing a blog post on our blog along the lines of - Why Rand Fishkin is my SEO hero
Thanks
-
Lookin' good! Super cute dog too
-
Ok that's good to know he does come across as a down to earth guy. I just ordered the batch of videos from Moz Con 2011 and I am going through them all.
He has also inspired me to grow a beard - see image
-
He's evil and bad! Don't try to contact him or you'll be turned to the dark side, too!
Oh no wait... I'm thinking of a different guy.
Just email me! My email's all over the web and I respond to 99% of real emails I get - rand@seomoz.org
-
He's just a normal guy. Shoot him an email rand at seomoz.org. He's better at responding than most people I know, including myself
-
I hit him up on Facebook, but His twitter responses are faster, I have noticed..

Unsolved Link Tracking List Error
"I have been maintaining 5 directories of backlinks in the 'Link Tracking List' section for several months. However, I am unable to locate any of these links at this time. Additionally, the link from my MOZ profile is currently broken and redirects to an error page, no to Elche Se Mueve. Given the premium pricing of MOZ's services, these persistent errors are unacceptable."

Unsolved Site Crawler not working but on-demand crawler working
Hi, In Moz pro, when using Site crawler (or recrawl), we are seeing message site is banned. But when using on-demand crawler, it could generate report successfully. I just like to know if in both these cases, it is roberbot that is used! And kindly note, site crawler was perfectly working before. So the required setup is already in place from long time. Site crawler ban issue started appearing from nov/dec 2023. . Could you please us understand how could we possibly make site-crawler work?

How crucial are H1 tags and descriptions in wordpress categories?
Hi all Trying to improve SEO for my (mostly) local site, www.nectarbridge.com, and recently got back on Moz Pro account. First crawl of my site by Moz, a manageable number of issues that I've mostly sorted, but the category with the largest number of problems is missing or invalid tags. My content pages and blog posts are not missing the tags. It's category, archives, etc., including multiple pages, ex: https://www.nectarbridge.com/category/blog/page/4/ A smaller number of pages are being flagged by Moz as missing descriptions, and they are also category pages and the like. So the question is - how hard should I pursue fixing these issues? I'm using the divi theme, which apparently doesn't display the category description by default (if it did, that would kill two birds with one stone). There is a fix to add the category description, but before I get into that I'm trying to discern whether this issue really matters greatly to SEO or if I should spend that time just working on more content.
