What impact do no follow links in blog comments have if any?
-
Hi
I think we all agree that social network sites such as pintrest/instagram/twitter are all now no follow however I believe there is benefit in having them....
So I wondered if anyone had been experimenting with commenting on blogs which had no follow attributes and if there was any benefit in terms of improving your rankings?
-
These pages are indexed by google right?
How about I PM you instead I wouldn't want the owner of the site to google themselves and find out I have been interrogating their site.
-
Can you post some urls to see some info about the link profiles in questions ?
-
Thats quite interesting that you say this....I haven't done any research into this competitors rankings per say yet.....however purely from a DA & PA perspective this seems to be doing their site the world of good.
Furthermore the industry is dominated by women (I know I'm one but still) and they tend to comment & talk ALOT and it would seem to me that comments make up 80% of this persons link profile. However from reading the comments I think they are completely genuine and its just a case of someone connecting with others within her industry on a regular basis too regular for my liking but I'm a old school (I don't have a personal facebook or twitter I like good old fashioned face to face chats)
Weird.

Yes, there are a lot of cases like this but again, this can also back-fire if it starts going over board.
In my opinion it should be part of any link profile as it helps but not as a primary channel. The ratio must be keept, as part of the link profile management, very tight.

I think you are correct, I am working on a site at the moment it has a DA of 28 and PA of 40 but there is one their competitors who has been trading for a shorter period of time with a DA of 45 and PA 53 and most of their back links appear to be comments (mixture of no follow and follow)
So I was confused by this!

If "done" right (natural that is) and with real on subject insights it can also help on the link profile side.
Even if those links are no follow, some, on a case by case basis are actually sending "link juice".
We've run several tests on new domains and we've manage to get really good rankings and a "public PR" only by using no follow links from social network channels.
If is going overboard however I am sure it can really hurt though.
Overal, I think those type of links should be part of any healthy link profile in a decent ratio. Those links are also part of online fingerprints that any decent site should have - again, with a good mix.
Just my opinion.

Hello! I noticed this question was asked a while back (around 2013 i think), but I still don't quite understand why I'm seeing these shortened URLs come up as Inbound Links? Can someone please explain? Thanks,

Internal Linking - Post links vs Side Bar Links behaving differently
Hi, I have a question regarding the internal linking behavior. My website is www.hindimeaning.com which is approx 3 years old. I have approx 450 posts. Now i have a widget on right sidebar "Popular posts". A widget below my posts "Related Posts". And a simple html CSS menu above the posts (I removed menu around 6 month before so currently it will not show.) I crawled my site with moz crawler (same are the result from google crawler as well) and it shows menus links as internal links. While sidebar widget "Popular posts" and "Related Posts" are not showing as internal links. If we talk theoretically what i learn till now is "every link on a page behaves as internal link". Then why the widget links are not showing as internal links. Thanks, Mahesh Kumar

I want to design SEO link building strategy for my website? Is wordpress.com, squidoo, tumblr, blogger, typepad - Good option for link building?
I am currently concentrating on 8 keywords, for e.g (A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H). I will be writing blogs with 2 of any related keywords present in it. I am thinking to post 5 blogs on 5 different platforms as (wordpress.com, Squidoo, Typepad, Tumblr, blogger) respectively. I am thinking a strategy as: Monday: Keyword A,B on Wordpress/ C,D on Squidoo/E,F on Typepad/G,H on Blogger/ A,C on Tumblr. Tuesday:C,D on Wordpress/E,F on Squidoo/ etc.... and will rotate these keywords through out the week and the cycle restarts on Monday. The URL for every keyword will be different and relevant to that keyword. I need quick suggestion on this topic..Please..

Too many links in my blog post created by comments. Should I worry?
Every year, we do a popular "Favourite pictures of the year" contest where people vote on the best picture (i.e: their mate's) in order to win something. But I just found that I'm going way over the "Too many links" limit and I think it's because of all the comments. 1. Is it a problem 2. Is there a way to de-activate the links? Thank you! 🙂 Ioan
