i was wondering whats the best way to optimise a wordpress website for SEO?
Any advice or tools would be greatly appreciated, currently the site is not very well optimised and is very new.

I was planning to carry out all the normal processes of SEO to the site such as KW research, on-page content, header titles, competitor analyses, off page factors etc,
I am just concerned by using the Wordpress admin CMS that it is encapsulating the normal seo elements such as page title, description, page names- friendly urls and was looking for any modules that provide direct access to these areas from within the admin panel rather than letting wordpress manage them .
I have looked at Yoast and felt that would provide what I am looking for, I am interested in the overall use of Wordpress and SEO considerations as a whole? The trade off for having a user control panel to create the website - like the effects on navigation links, Javascript code encapsulation?

Lots of people use Yoast or similar methods and think that they got all of the bases cover. Thereby they forget using their brain.
Often adding a couple extra words to category pages such as "news" or "information" or "facts" can pull in 10x more traffic. Similar results can often be obtained on other parts of the site.
So, do kW research, think about what people are searching for and that hour or two spent might earn the highest amount of money per hour that you ever make in a lifetime.

Yoast is definitely worth looking but there is also All in One SEO which is widely used. I have over 100 WP websites using it and I'm very happy with it.
All In One SEO has a Premium version but I never tried.

2 Facebook Company Pages - Best way to merge
Hi I am about to set up a Facebook company page under our current brand name Key - however in March we'll be re-branding to Manutan UK. I didn't want to wait until March to start using Facebook (we're so behind!) but when we re-brand what are the best steps to take. Here are my options - I'd love some help! 1. Set up a Key company to actively use now & a separate Manutan page just to secure the page - only using Key until March then merge the business pages (I did read however Facebook won't allow it if the names are different?) 2. Set up a Key page now & in March request a name change of the page & vanity URL We obviously don't want to lose any likes/followers we've gained between now & March Does anyone have any advice or experience with this? What percentage of people will Like/Share something on Facebook vs. Liking/Sharing from a website?
I asked this on Quora and am curious what the Moz community has to offer: http://www.quora.com/What-percentage-of-people-will-Like-Share-something-on-Facebook-vs-Liking-Sharing-from-a-website If I have a blog post that I share on Facebook and I receive 1,000 Likes and/or Shares, what's the percentage of those Likes/Shares that will come from people interacting with the post in their Facebook news feed vs. people Liking/Sharing the article on my blog? I realize many factors are at play here (type of content, audience, time of day, blog design, etc.) but have there been any studies that attempted to address this question?

SEO wise - what is the impact of Avatar on a blog
Hi all, At the moment we are at the verge of building finally a blog. For SEO purpose I demanded that it would include social interactions with Google+, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and some more. Especially Google+ for the authorship part. But now they come asking me if they can work with Gravatar http://www.gravatar.com/support/what-is-gravatar/ - a Globally Recognized Avatar. I never worked with it before and can't find anything if it will negatively impact SEO on authorship - but I'm still not sure. Does the Gravatar interfer with Google+ authorship?

I could find information about having to setup the author part in the Gravatar, but this doesn't give me the answer if this helps with Google+. If anybody has experience of can tell me / point me in the right direction it much appreciated. Or maybe having a better solutions than the Gravatar.0 -
Should OG tags be used on a websites homepage?
My current shopping cart uses OG tags on about 1/2 of all pages, it puts them on product pages and that about it. Would it be beneficial to have these tags on all pages? Thanks for your time.

How important are social signals to SEO? Are generating social signals a must? It seems every website out there has some sort of social sharing tool installed, everyone is after a like or a tweet. Twitter retweets - best practices
So, a fairly prominent organization used our company in a case study on their website. They mentioned us in a tweet and linked to the case study on their site. I'd like to promote this to my own followers as well. Is it more appropriate to write a unique tweet mentioning the organization and linking to the case study, or should I just retweet their original tweet.
