Anyone used an SEO or SMM company that they would recommend?
I know about the recommended sites on SEOMOZ, but I can't afford to pay someone $4K a month for consulting or link building.
Anyone still feel safe outsourcing?
-
One option may be to hire an individual or smaller company, rather than a big, established one.
You can expect lower prices for comparable services - as long as you do your homework and make sure they are reputable, experienced and transparent in all activities.
-
Directly coming out with the name is quite difficult for anyone as SEO is kind of a service which is strategically different for almost every business SEOs work with, but here are some key indicators of an ethical SEO company they might possibly do your job.
- Ethical SEO agencies love to educate their clients and potential customers and there is always a good level of transparency between the client and the customers.
- Ethical SEO Company might not do BIG promises but will explain why they won’t be able to achieve sky rocket traffic in the next 3 months.
- Ethical SEO Company will be able to answer your quires and clear the misunderstanding you might have as a business owner about SEO and digital marketing.
- Ethical SEO agencies are usually open on social media (or at least there business owners) so see how open they are on social medias.
If the recommended list of SEOmoz is expensive for you, I would highly recommend you to check their list of top/active users http://www.seomoz.org/users you might find a consultant under your budget within top 100 or less may be.
Finding a consultant from another country can be a good idea because they can be less expensive for you due to currency difference.
Hope this helps!

Coming from someone who manages an outsourcing agency, I think it can definitely work. For the best results, I'd recommend the following:
-
be clear on what your expectations are. There are such a wide range of activities that are counted as 'link building', depending on who you talk to. If you're familiar with link building, and have a process that works for your project or clients, then be willing to share that with your outsourcing provider.
-
set expectations. What type of reporting format do you use, and how often do you expect reports? For link building, the Raven Tools Link Manager system actually worked great for outsourced link building, since it provides real time, verified reports.
-
ask for a free trial. Any outsourcing provider hoping to win you as a long time customer would be willing to give you a free trial of their services. That should give you a feel for how they work, and whether or not you feel comfortable with their process.
Hope that doesn't come across as too sales-pitchy! Good luck.

Anyone know of any forums for agencies or those individuals engaged in Internet Marketing, SEO, Integrated Marketing, etc.?
Moz.com is the best forum I have been a part of. There is a local forum I really like but spend less time on (we have staff who live on it.) I am interested in a forum where everyone is agency related. Does anyone know of a good one? If not, would anyone have an interest?

Ideal SEO / Social Media Employee Skillset
I’ve been wondering recently what makes a good SEO / Social Media employee. It seems to me that SEO and Social Media are in the process of merging into a single role. What are your thoughts on the skills that this new world SEO / Social Media employee would need? Or do you think these roles should ideally remain separate and that a “traditional” SEO is more what is needed? My own role has been moving much more towards social media recently and I was wondering if this was a common trend!

Looking for Freelance SEO'ers
Hi, I wouldn't normally post a request for freelancers here, but I noticed someone else has done it and its not against the rules! so here goes... We are looking for Freelancers to help with our work load. In particular we are searching for Link Builders who can establish links on various websites through the use of article writing/blog content posting and other methods. Also, we require general SEOs who can perform the usual technical tasks such as creating 301's, canonicals and SEO audit reports on client websites. Ideally we only want UK based, white hatters with at least 2 years SEO experience. Please pm me if this interests you. Thanks Aran

Is it OK to discuss SEO for an adult site?
Hey guys, I run a few big tube sites and sales pages that contain adult material. I'm also new to these forums, so before I do anything that might be considered rude or innapropriate, I wanted to know what the stance was on asking for advice related to the SEO of my adult sites and/or posting links. I've read the Etiquette disclaimer, however, I don't actually intend to post images or anything of the sort, only ask for your opinions and preferred strategies. If its completely frowned upon, then I completely understand and will never bring the subject back up again. Cheers and Happy to be amongst you all!

I wanted to know how others classify an individual in the industry. i.e. What makes an SEO beginner, intermediate or advanced? What skill set separates a pro from a newbie?

Recommended marketplace for SEO
Hi Mozzers! With the shut down of the SEOMoz marketplace what are some other resources for finding people to help with SEO tasks? Craigslist seems like the best resource for this, but are there any other good ones?
