Followerwonk
-
Just saw the email that Followerwonk is part of the family so thought I'd give it a try.
However once I get over to the site and authorize my Twitter account with it I can't seem to use the functionality of it.
I can start a report based on keywords in a bio it gives me a long list of people but I am unable to follow any of them I just get the text "click to learn how to enable in app follow and unfollow" it then takes me back to the homepage
If you can see the screen I'm signed in Twitter, the top line "Link your SEOMoz account" did have my username in until I authorised the app

Hello Marc,
It shows that my Followerwonk account is linked to my Moz account and I still cannot download the spreadsheets. At the top right it says HotelPlusPortal and then it shows the GuestSmile logo that we are signed into Twitter. What should I do?
-
Hi Shaun,
Since Followerwonk is now part of Moz, the best thing to do is email help@moz.com. Thanks, and sorry for your troubles.
-
Hi, Shaun,
Make sure your Followerwonk account is linked to your Moz account. I don't see one linked to this account. You'll find a link near the top right of https://followerwonk.com:

Hey Guys,
I signed up with for a free trial on followerwonk and then decided to analyze our account and our followers. When I went to download a CSV/Excel it did not allow me to and it said I had to subscribe. I linked our Moz account and I signed in with Twitter, but it still did not allow me to download the spreadsheet. Can anyone help me with this? I have also emailed followerwonk, but have not been successful.

Hi Marc,
Thanks, it worked.

Hi, Tim. Give this a try and let me know if it resolves the problem for you:
- Sign out of Twitter.
- Logout of Followerwonk.
- Sign in to Followerwonk using one of the Twitter accounts associated with "mb07".
- Select "add new twitter account".
- Authorize @TweeTim88 with Twitter.
That should add @TweeTim88 to your list of Twitter accounts. If it doesn't, I'll check the application log files and see what might be causing us grief.
Thanks for your patience, Tim!

Hi, I am having the same issue. I log into my Moz account and when I attempt to sign into Twitter and authorise the app (with the account I wish to add) I get the following message.
You are attempting to link the Moz account "mb07" to the Twitter account @TweeTim88. However, "mb07" has already been linked to the Twitter accounts- etc etc. Attempting to use the "add new twitter account" yields "Please sign up with PRO membership to add more Twitter accounts." because my Moz account becomes un-linked.
Any help would be appreciated
Tim

Hi, Fabio! We don't currently impose a limit on the number of Twitter accounts for Pro users. As long as that isn't abused we hope to keep it unlimited. Basic accounts can add one Twitter account.
-
How many Twitter acounts can add to Follower Wonk?
-
Hi Chris,
If you send an email to help@seomoz.org they'll be able to respond to you and help you out. Thanks!

Hi guys,
I'm just joining on the Pro Trial and were trying Followerwonk with my Twitter account @mahadewa. After I authorized the app on Twitter and was taken back to FW, I still couldn't use it as a proper subscriber. It's like as if my Pro membership turned into a free one.
Can anyone help please?
Thanks a lot

Hello, Alan, thanks for the feedback! We do offer the "Analyze followers" feature, which will break down a user's followers (or followees) by various categories, one of which is time since last tweet. You should check this out if you haven't already. And we'll definitely consider your suggestion!
-
Mine didn't work yesterday, but it works now.
Then I clicked on a "follow" button and it worked, but I went to that account and discovered it had been inactive since February.
And their linked website was parked.
Maybe google killed them with panda and penguin and they gave up.
It was a news related, so I'm not surprised. Google is killing them off like there's no tomorrow.
So here is a suggestion for the app - have a column that shows the last activity from that account.
- or don't list accounts that haven't tweeted in more than a couple of months.
-
Yes, you can add more Twitter accounts to your Followerwonk account at any time with the "Add new Twitter account" button. When you land on Twitter's authorization page, you may or may not already be logged in; that depends on what you've been doing on Twitter! If you are logged in as the wrong account, select "sign out" from the pulldown menu at the upper right of the authorization page, log in as the Twitter account you want, and click on "Authorize app". That will add you. Let me know if you need any further assistance!
-
Hi Galen
Many thanks that worked fine, now if I want to add another twitter account I just hit "add new twitter account"? Assume that I should be signed out of the one I originally went in as?
-
Hello Richard,
To add a new Twitter account to Followerwonk, use the "Add new Twitter account" button in the pulldown in the upper right of any Followerwonk page. This will take you to the authorization page on Twitter where you can authorize the Twitter account you wish to use.
No, revoking access will not break the link; it will only disable certain Followerwonk features. However, I have disconnected the Twitter account @Rich94 for you, so you can try again connecting the Twitter account (and only the Twitter account) you want. Let me know if this works for you!
-
Hi Simon, thanks for providing details.
When you are sent to Twitter, you will see an authorize page. There, you can log in as whatever Twitter account you wish to link and click "Authorize app". If you are already logged in as the desired Twitter account, you can just select "Authorize app". If you are logged in as a different Twitter account from what you want, you have to sign out of one and then log in as the desired one. There is a pulldown in the upper right of the screen on the authorize page under your Twitter name that says "sign out".
We realize this process may seem convoluted, but this is how Twitter does authorizations. Followerwonk is a Twitter app, and so we have to follow Twitter's rules!
I hope this helps!
-
I've looked on my SeoMoz profile and can't see where the account link is? I've revoked access on the @Rich94 account thinking that would break the link?
-
Hi Galen, thanks for the swift response. I'm trying to add the account @realbuzzcom but when I choose the 'Add new twitter account option' I am taken to the 'Authorize Followerwonk to use your account' page. At no point is there an option to specify which account i wish to add. Selecting the 'Authorize app' button just take you back to where you started and still logged to the original twitter account (in this case simon_realbuzz). Essentially there is no place to specify i wish to add @realbuzzcom. Thanks
-
Hello, Simon, I see your SEOmoz account is linked to @simon_realbuzz. Can you tell me what Twitter account you wish to add, and what difficulty you encounter when trying to do it? Thanks!
-
I'm having the same difficulty and have tried adding other Twitter accounts to the followerwonk account but when clicking add new 'Twitter account' this function does not work.
-
Hi Galen,
Thanks for your response. That worked perfectly!
Brendan.

Hello, everyone!
We're sorry about the confusion. This is a recently released product, and we are still working on making it as user-friendly as possible.
What we believe is happening here is that someone has already linked your SEOmoz account to a Twitter account on Followerwonk. You can only be linked to one Followerwonk account, and it won't let you link another. We realize it isn't made clear that that is the problem, and we are working to redress that.
Richard, your SEOmoz account is already linked to @Rich94. Confetti, you are already linked to @NewsletterEx. Oleg, you are already linked to @MichaelMelen.
You are allowed to have multiple Twitter accounts under the same Followerwonk account, but you must go through a step to specifically authorize this. In the upper right of the Followerwonk page, there is a pulldown menu in which you can select "Add new Twitter account". Using this button, you can "merge" your Twitter accounts into the same Followerwonk account. If that account is linked to your SEOmoz account, then all the Twitter accounts will be.
Let me know if this makes sense and helps you!

Hi guys, thanks for these reports... we're looking into this and will report back shortly! Peter

I'm seeing something similar. I link my SEOmoz account but when I sign in with Twitter, my SEOmoz account becomes unlinked.
-
I am having the same issue, must be a coding error

Facebook won't show up in SERP
Hello! One of my clients' Facebook page isn't showing up on the SERP, even when you search "CLIENT NAME facebook" or an excerpt from a live post. Our social media team looked over all the settings in Meta, and everything looks correct, so we are stumped. Anyone encounter this before?

Does Facebook Messages count as a social signal factor?
Hi, We know that social signals are usually referred to as a webpage's collective likes, comments or shares. But what about the Facebook messages generated from the messenger plugin on a web page? Especially on a business page, if one business page receives hundreds of Facebook messages through a landing page or blog page, does that count as social shares? And how effective is social signals are for a website in 2020? Although social engagement is always good for any website, my question is, how logical is it to purchase "social signal gigs" from konker or Fiverr or other gig markets? We run a social media marketing company in Australia, our website: https://www.playchat.com.au and we get a lot of messages every day through the messenger add on from our home page. Will that make any difference whatsoever? Looking forward to hearing from you. I appreciate any help you can provide.

Facebook Integration and Keyword Density
Hope everyone is doing well! Long story short, we have been getting a lot of customer testimonials. We started putting them on Facebook and then we decided to start adding more details into the articles section of the site. The problem is many of our customers do not go to the articles section or the FB page. We purchased a plugin to integrate most recent Facebook posts into our website. We were going to use it on our homepage as well as our top category pages. I always run content changes through the MOZ scoring utility. After integration into the home page it dropped my score from a 99 to a 91. The first issue is consistent.... to many links... the second issue we got Rand's WTH are you doing face with a warning that we are stuffing keywords.... Not our intent, but the FB posts do have keywords in them. So for now we are testing the integration on just our garage floor tile category page but I am wondering the following: 1. In general does this type of utility improve UX 2. Does Google make some concession for 'keyword stuffing' when it is because of social media posts being displayed on the page? 3. Given that we post daily, does the 'fresh content' outweigh the increased keyword density. We are ranking top 10 for several major national keywords and we don't want to screw that up. But we want to continue to improve our layout and UX

Tool like Followerwonk for Facebook?
Hi For Twitter using Followerwonk you can gauge the influence on what a person/brand is using a tool like Follwerwonk helping you find the most influential twitter users based on a number of metrics. But is there a similar tool for Facebook which shows which brands/companies Facebook sites have the most influence. Or is the best way to gauge this is just on their number of likes? which is not really accurate

Are there tools like followerwonk / wefollow for blogs?
We are looking for a way to quickly find blogs for a particular keyword that have a high number of subscribers / followers. Is there a tool that can do this? A blog equivalent of followerwonk / wefollow would be ideal.
