Latent semantic Indexing - Does this help rankings/relevance?

Hi,
Does semantically related words to the target term on a page help with rankings/relevance?
If your after the term 'PC Screen' and you use the term 'PC Monitor' will go make the connection and also reward you because of the relevance?
Anyone do this and have you seen any positives?
I've just started to try this out lately and have been combining it with Wordle.net to give me an indication of where the content piece is heading and how aggressive the content leans towards certain words (makes things a little more interesting then calculating densities).

I can see how LSI could open the doors to other variations showing up in the SE's.
Do you think a search engine such as Google makes the connection between terms such as 'PC Screen' and 'PC monitor' and do you think this is a factor in rankings?
For example, if a page was targeting the term 'PC Screen' but the page included the word 'Montior' a few times do you think that word would benefit the term 'PC Screen' in relevance/rankings.
Thanks for your time, it's something im trying understand more.

Absolutely. All content should have synonyms and singular/plural and reversed order variations of the keyword phrase if possible, not just for LSI but also for better optimization for long tail and alternative keywords.
"PC monitor" might even be a secondary keyword. It shows Google that your page really is about PC Screens and not just some BS SEO article written with "PC screen" thrown in a bunch of times.

You should always do the onsite technical towards a hierarchy of targeted keywords but yes relevance does matter. Not only onsite but I have seen impact of anchor text relevance from external sites linking to my sites.
Google is all about quality. Also which user experience would you prefer, one where the content is relevant or is keyword stuffed?

No index for http version of website
Hi, I've had a message from Google search console to say the sitemap for the http version of my site is tagged as no index. As the https version is indexed, do I need to change the http version to be indexed as well? Do I need to keep the http version of the site in search console alongside the https version, or should I remove it? Advice appreciated!

Indexing Issues
One of the main pages on my site, http://www.waikoloavacationrentals.com/kolea-rentals/condos, I have been having a hard time getting google to index it correctly or at all. It is one of the top pages on my site and should be in my sub links in google, but it is not even showing up in searches. Any input would be appreciated. The only red flap issue is the number of outgoing links, but that is the way the page is supposed to be. I would assume most real estate listing pages are very similar. Ultimately when you look at traffic, time on page, inbound links, etc. it is one of the top pages on my site in all those categories. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Paginated URLs are getting Indexed
Hi, For ex: - My site is www.abc.com and Its paginated URLs for www.abc.com/jobs-in-delhi are in the format of : www.abc.com/jobs-in-delhi-1, www.abc.com/jobs-in-delhi-2 and vice versa also i have used pagination tags rel=next and rel=prev. My concern is all the paginated URLs are getting indexed so is their any disadvantage if these URLs are getting indexed as somewhere i have read that link juice may get distributed in case of pagination. isn't it good to use Noindex, Follow so that we can make the Google to understand that paginated page are not so much important and that should not be ranked.

Ranking improvement for states and cities
I am trying to improve rankings for a national website going after keywords product + state/city. It is a very competitive space and I can't figure out why our competitors are ranking above us (the ever enigmatic Google). If i only want to rank for one specific keyword and use it in all my page titles, will it negatively affect my rankings?
If i want to rank highest for one specific keyword (virtualization management, for example) and use that keyword in all the titles on my website, will that negatively affect my search rankings? SEOmoz is telling me that i should use unique titles for my different pages to ensure that they describe each page uniquely and don't compete with each other for keyword relevance.

How do you create a 301 redirect for www.mysite..com/index.html in htaccess.
I understand that it is possible to create a 301 redirect for www.mysite..com/index.html to www.mysite.com. (as well as subdirectories.) How is this accomplished? My hosting company says that setting this up in htaccess will cause "Apache to geti into an infinite loop and the page won’t load." I have read on the forum that this is possible. Any help would be greatly appreaciated. THanks. Perri

Hello, Please let me know what are the exact right steps in order to get rid of the duplicate content issues related with: www.domain.com/index.html same as www.domain.com without creating an infinite loop. Do you have a step by step guide posted within seomoz including 301 redirect for non www to www for all urls and index.whatever to main domain name without going into a infinite loop ? btw how to you spot the loop ? is it obvious like never ending refresh of the home page ? thanks a lot !
