Links to main landing category page or links directly to products
-
I have an ecommerce website and a manufacturer is providing links directly to my website from their products pages because they do not sell directly online.
What is my best linking juice power for this situation:
Manufacturer A has a number of different brands: brand1, brand2, brand3 and a number of different products in each of it brands. They are currently linking their individual products to my individual products on my website.
My website is setup like this:
my.com/manufacture-A
my.com/manufacture-A/brand1
my.com/manufacture-A/brand1/product1
my.com/manufacture-A/brand1/product2
my.com/manufacture-A/brand2
my.com/manufacture-A/brand2/product1
my.com/manufacture-A/brand2/product2What is the best practice for this situation:
--Linking manufacturer product to my product
--Linking manufacturer product to my associated brand page
--Linking manufacturer product to main manufacturer page
--or something else?Thank you and I can provide more details if need be.

Hi Denny,
Where do you currently rank for the product, brands and manufacturer page? Will the link be followed?
If the product has some decent search volume then I would ask for that link to the product directly to help further improve the ranking.

Are links from charities really better than 'normal' links.
Hi Guys. Just wondering about this idea that links from Charities are particularly good. I've heard people say that links from .org sites are particularly strong. But anyone can get a .org domain, it's just that charities tend to use them more often. Right? I just don't get the logic. Can anyone give more detail about this? Is it a myth? Is there quality info on this topic I can check out? We're working with several charities at the moment, and they all seem happy to blog and link to us...so I just wanted to know a little more. Isaac.

Does this count as a backlink to my category page?
I am ranking high with a certain category page and I am reading that I need backlinks to that page. It is going to be a challenge to get a backlink to that specific category page but how about this? Category page URL: www.mysite.com/category/name Backlink to this URL: www.mysite.com/category/name/specific-blog-post (EDIT: Apparently these types of links don't exist! I went into the category page and clicked on a blog post and it just gave me the www.mysite.com/blah-blah-blah) Will that count as a backlink to the category page? Right now I am only getting backlinks to these blog posts: www.mysite.com/this-is-a-blog-post Any help appreciated! EDIT: Well I guess now my question is worthless. But if you have any input, it would be appreciated.

Internal Links and Page Authority - Best Practices
Hello, Is it bad (in terms of ranking in the SERPS) if i have a link from a page with PA of 18 going to a page with PA of 21? In other words, does it matter if the page containing the link has a lower page authority than the page receiving the link? Page A links to Page B Page A page authority is 18 Page B page authority 21 could this negatively affect my rankings? Thanks

How do you check to see if your site (site A) has already been linked to by another site (site B) when you have a large site with lots of links
There are some basics in SEO relating to finding out about who has linked to whom that I could use some help with.

Making deep links to your page on BBB or DMOZ - Effective or waste of time?
Hi, Has anyone tried making links to a deep links to a page on an external site (like dmoz or the bbb) which has a link to your website? Of course, you might wonder "it depends on the type of link" you make to this larger site. Let's say it's a link (without no-follow) on a forum or blog comment - low-quality but on a decent site. Anyone think this may have some benefit to increase the chance / rate that your own link from another site will be indexed more and provide more benefit? A dmoz link is great, but it's on the backpages because it's a huge site, opensiteexplorer hardly indexes dmoz links. Regards,
