Cant find eCommerce in Google Analytics
-
Ciao from Wetherby UK,
Ok ive done this a zilion times but since Google analytics upgraded I cant find how to upgarde the tracking code to ecoomerce tracking. Before i would just tick a box and Boomshanka the code would change. Whats got me worried the tracking codes has not modified to ecoomerce is because it looks like this:
Heres the tracking dashboard with no sign of ecomm tracking customisations:

Hi David!
This is set up on the profile settings page, not the property settings page. This really does not change the basic tracking code, but will enable this tracking for the given profile.
That comes in addition to adding the ecommerce tracking code on the receipt page/conversion page (what Marks says)
Hope this helps

You don't need to modify your tracking code for ecommerce throughout the site. You need to set in Google Analytics in your profile settings that you want to track ecommerce. On your checkout page, if the system doesn't do it automatically, you need to pass the relevant parameters to analytics so they can get ecommerce data on the checkout page.
Edit - correction to what I wrote above, which was for the old version of analytics- see this info for ecommerce tracking with the new universal analytics code for developers published from google:
https://developers.google.com/analytics/devguides/collection/analyticsjs/ecommerce

Google Analytics and Bounce Rates Query - Should I block access from foreign countries ?
Hi , When I look at my google analytics for my UK Website, I can see alot of visits come from outside the UK , i.e Brazil and USA. Both of which give me almost 100% bounce rates from people visiting from there. I am wondering, if google looks at bounce rates with regards to ranking factors and should I therefore block access to my site from visitors outside the UK ?... Would this help increase my rankings ? Given that we only serve uk customers, I cant see any benefit of allowing non uk customers the ability to see the site . what does people think ? thanks pete

Google Analytics Organic Search Keywords Suddenly Displaying FulL Urls
In my Google Analytics, the top keywords for Organic Search are suddenyl displaying full URLs. For example, now the third and fourth keywords are http://www.domain.com/highly-specific-URL. These have all started recently around the same day, July 12th. I've checked back, and we've made no internal changes to the site around that time that could affect this. Any thoughts on this? Thanks! P.S. It might be related to rich snippets, but I cannot tell at this point.

Linking Multiple Niche Site In Same Google Analytics Account
Hi, I am providing SEO for Local business. Is it advisable to separate out the Google Analytics into different Google account or is it ok to remain it this way? Some of the client might be in the same niche, and might be competing with the same keywords as well. What I was worried is, Google might see these sites as same owner and only rank for 1 of the site. I was thinking to get the owners to register for their own Google Analytics and share the access to me.

Google Analytics traffic hijacking?
Ran into something interesting a week ago - the same Google Analytics code was installed on two different sites by accident. The account was reporting traffic from both domains. Haven't found a definitive answer on how to stop this yet if it were to be used maliciously?

Multiple domains to one payment sub-domain in Google Analytics
Hi Mozzers, I have a series of sites (~25) that are all regional e-commerce sites with the same URL structure eg. www.[region]-product.com as well as a 'master' site (eg www.product.com). I also have a single Adwords PPC account which point to all of the regional sites as well as the master site. As part of the payment/checkout process you only ever get taken to a sub domain of the master site (eg payment.product.com). My question is: Is it wise to use the single PPC Adwords account to set up an Analytics account under which I list all of the regional sites and the master site? Once that's done I'm not entirely sure how I can track sales from a regional site to the payment process of the master site and have sales correctly assigned to the right domain. On the payment process I can only use one site ID tracking code so I'm not even sure I can correctly assign a transaction to a single site if multiple sites use the same payment pages. Example: Visit to region-product.com > Quote form submitted to payment.product.com > Payment completed on payment.product.com > Sale is assigned to which domain? Can anyone who understands what I'm trying to achieve comment on the plausibility of this? Many many thanks!

How to track what people type on my text boxes on Google Analytics?
Hi there! In our website, we have a few text boxes that users need to use to complete the goal. The boxes aren't search boxes, but it's still important to us to track what people type on it. I'm looking for a way to track the data through the "event" feature in Google Analytics, but it seems that this tracker can only calculate clicks, or video views etc. Does anyone knows how to track do it?

Seeing / and no / in Google Analytics
When I look at my Google Analytics code, I see that the same content will show up twice, once with a / at the end of the URL, and once without. My site is at http://www.skypeenglishclasses.com. Does anyone know why this would happen? Is it duplicate content?
