What is the Best Way to Translate a Website?
-
What is the best way?
- Using a different domain
- Using a subdomain of the main site
- Using a folder of the main site
What's your take?

The right question should be:
what solution is the best one for my business when it comes to International SEO.
For instance, if you are already present in the country, or if you analytics is saying to you that there is a consistent and persistent traffic from a country, then it could be a great idea creating a localized site using a ccTld.
If now, a subfolder can be enough... but, then, I would try testing the real response of those markets with specific landing pages.
Subdomain would be my third option, but - in the case of site with very complex architectures, they can be a great option, because replicating the IA of a news site (for instance) in a subfolder can be a sort of suicide.

The perfect thing (from the point of view of a SEO!) is to use the right domain. E.g. french content using .fr, english content using .com / .co.uk / .co and so on
This is no must have but the perfect match... our company has made good experiences with that BUT also with using "only" specified folders for each country.
The aim should be to keep your url structure as short and clear as possible - Google likes that. Using different domains in that case helps a lot but it
s only one ranking factor within a huge bundle... if you can afford it I would recommend the perfect solution but don
t mind if you cant or don
t want to...Sorry, no experiences with subdomains so far...

Best Way To Pass Rank To Follow Up Article?
What is the best way to pass rank to a follow-up article? For example, we write an article "Product A Rumors" that ends up ranking #1. When Product A is released, we write an article called "Product A Review". What is the best way to pass rank from the first pre-release article to the second post-release article? We don't want to do a simple 301 redirect as we want readers to be able to go back to the first article to see the progression of the Product A life-cycle. Also, should we go back and edit the old article to add a link to the new? Should we add a link in the new article to the old? Thanks in advance 😉

Duplicate Page Content Should we 301 - Best Practices?
What would be the best way to avoid a Duplicate Page Content for these type of pages. Our website generates user friendly urls, for each page..
On-Page Optimization | | 365ToursSafaris
So it is the same exact page, just both versions of the url work.. Example: http://www.safari365.com/about-africa/wildebeest-migration http://www.safari365.com/wildebeest-migration I don't think adding code to the page will work because its the same page for the incorrect and correct versions of the page. I don't think i can use the URL parameter setting because the version with /about-africa/ is the correct (correct as it it follows the site navigation) I was thinking of using the htaccess to redirect to the correct version.. Will that work ? and does it follow best Practices ? any other suggestions that would work better ?0 -
Blog on Subdomain vs. Subdirectory - Best Practices
Hi, I have recently been told that it no longer impacts authority or rankings if a blog is set up on a subdomain (blog.domain.com) rather than a subdirectory (/blog). However, I am reluctant to do so because I remember learning how blog subdomains did not adhere to SEO best practices. Would anyone be able to shed some light on the latest SEO best practices regarding this topic? Many thanks, Erin
