Google is pulling up a sitelink that is spelled wrong.
Beauty Brands
Sitelink - Store Locater
How can I figure out where the data is being pulled from. I couldn't find it on the page that the sitelink goes to.
Thanks!

I just tried their site search and looked at their backlinks and nothing with that misspelling appeared. However, I did a google search for the site and misspelling and found a smattering of sites that had the link and the title tag listed with the misspelling. Would google be displaying an old title tag even if the page was cached on Aug. 3?

Do you have a Google custom search engine on your site? Usually when I run across things like this I search within my site and it helps narrow down where to look. In fact, something like this popped up the other day and I was able to find the page utilizing search.
If you utilize All In One SEO, could it be the SEO Title field?
I just searched some of your pages and I think I may have found it, if you choose Store Locations, click on the individual store locations below the pink search button, ie Charlotte then do a "view search" of the page and search "store locater" within that page it will show the use of "store locater"
![](http://images.beautybrands.com/images/set_a/en_us/global/globalgraphics/spacer01.gif) I checked about 7 different cities and the coding is the same. Not sure if this is the root of the problem but hopefully it will be a starting point for you. | |

If you don't want that one to appear, you can demote it via Webmaster for now (configuration>sitelinks). It's somewhere on your site, so grab the URL and maybe see what's linking to it via a link checking tool, see if you can find anything that way?

Issues with the apperance of cross country sitelinks
Hi Moz community, My questions is related to the international SEO, esepecially sitelinks. The problem is that the users from US see in the search results the sitelinks which comes from different countries, e.g. users from US see the sitelinks from Australia or the sitelinks from our international website, which has obviously no specification. I must say, that we've done everything to be in accordance with Google interantional SEO recommendations, hraflang & lang attributes, properly set location in GSC. All of these were tripplechecked. I also need to say, that it happens only to the websites that include content written in English nad French. All other branches show proper sitelinks. It think Google can't properly locate the content, if the language is the same regardless country. Previously it could be solved with disavow tool, but today's I don't know about any manual action that could deal with the issue. I also noticed that some other pages are affected with the same issue. To better understand the issue, please see the image link. The image shows the results from US. Despite the location, it shows sitelinks form UK or International website. Do you have similar experience? I will be thankful for any help. 1NNtJ

Can anyone help me figure out these sitelinks?
My company is Squatty Potty (yes, of magic unicorn fame) and I recently redid our website's navigation. We're overhauling it currently to rebuild the whole thing, but what is there should give a good idea of site hierarchy to Google I would think. The funny thing is, when you Google [squatty potty website] we do have sitelinks. But when you Google just [squatty potty] we don't. Any ideas on why sitelinks would appear on one search but not the other? I see they appear with [squatty potty logo] as well. I can't figure out how to get them to appear for my brand name search, any help appreciated!

Where is sitelinks getting its data from?
Hi, This is an issue that is really upsetting my client. There are sitelinks that are coming up when you search for his business that aren't relevant as the other pages are! I assured him that there is nothing for me to do about it besides for demoting a sitelink, which is simply a suggestion in Google's eyes. 1. I would love to know why they are choosing the titles they are publishing, which is the shortened version of states? Where are they getting it from? I don't have any linking pages with such anchor text. The only thing I can think of is that there is a clickable map that has abbreviated words of that state. Would that do it? How could I change it? 2. Also, why are they choosing pages that are really not the top visited pages on my website instead of the pages that visitors are really interested in? Here is a snapshot of the issue: http://screencast.com/t/9w9C3DPAHvYb Thanks!

Adjusting Display of Sitelinks
I have a client that has some site links for their store but on of the links does not appear how it should. It should be a category that is all Capital letters but instead is appearing as initial Caps. I am guessing that this is due to anchor text somewhere on the site but for the life of me, I cannot find it appearing like this anywhere. Anything you think I might be missing here or should try? This is probably just something stupid I have overlooked.

Sitelink Removal Timeframe
Hi Everyone, Has anyone had experience using the sitelinks demotion tool within GWT after a site redesign? How long does it take for the demotion to go into effect? We just went live with a new version of a site for one of our clients, and the generated sitelinks are no longer valid. I have demoted the urls associated with the old sitelinks, and it's been over a week with no change. Does anyone have experience in a similar situation? Also, for anyone looking for a time frame on changes to a meta description, after resubmitting an updated sitemap, it took 2 days for Google to display an updated meta description. Please advise, Chris Wilson

Sitelink Trouble - CMS Migration
Hi Mozzers, My company recently took over a website for a client and moved them onto our CMS. We are having some issues right now with sitelinks. A few things have happened to cause this: 1. Our IT department didn't put in the proper 301 redirects from their old subdirectory pages to the new corresponding subdirectory pages. (Insert head smack here.) 2. In addition to taking over the client's desktop domain, we've also taken over the client's mobile site. The mobile site has changed from m.domain.com to www.domain.mobi. Again, there was a missing 301 between the two (head smacking ensues). As a result, Google has selected the following pesky sitelink for one of the sitelinks returned during a brand search for the client. The brand search is returning a sitelink under www.domain.com as:

IIS7 IIS7 When you click on the sitelink for IIS7, it's a link to m.domain.com which NOW redirects to www.domain.mobi. My question is how long until the IIS7 sitelink goes away and is there anything we can do to speed it up? What we've been doing to fix this: 1. Demoting sitelinks in GWT for www.domain.com that have the old subdirectory structure while the 301 redirects are being implemented. I can't demote this m.domain.com as a sitelink for www.domain.com because it's a different subdomain, and GWT will only allow me to demote subfolder pages or the www.domain.com itself 2. We've verified m.domain.com and demoted its homepage as a sitelink. Still not sure how this could stop it from showing up for a brand search that returns www.domain.com Thanks in advance!0 -
Sitelinks: Does Google Recognize Your Requests for Removal?
I've been trying to influence branded SERPs recently by demoting certain pages from appearing in the Sitelinks feature provided in Google's Webmaster Tools. However, despite demoting various URLs, they continue to appear for the branded SERPs nearly a week after they should've been suppressed. What is your experience with Sitelinks? Do links you request to demote ever disappear or change positions in the SERPs for you?
