Has GA changed how it calculates bounce rate?
-
Updated website from Magento backend to Wordpress and since the redeploy, my bounce rate has dropped from 40% to 4%. I did check to see if there was duplicate GA tracking code but only one call. I checked reports under "visitor flow" and one page visits seem inline with the previous bounce rate.
Weird. Never experienced this before.

Glad it was figured out so quickly. You might want to put a note in Google Analytics about what happened, so six months down the line you'll know why the bounce rate was low and there were higher page views.

Bingo. That was it. I should have know better :}

I'd check in an incognito browser where you are not logged into Wordpress. If you're an admin, WP can be set to suppress the GA tracking so that you're not recording your own visits, and when you view the source you see just the one tracking code, and continue to pull your hair out (voice of experience here!).

What's Causing My Extremely Low Bounce Rate
My client's site that is reporting an under 10% bounce rate for all sources. Direct is the highest at 8%. I'm no expert in GA but wondering if there is a problem with the analytics/tag manager code on the site. I'm especially concerned about the GTM body script being in an iframe which I read could be trouble. <!-- Google Tag Manager (noscript) -->

Does GWT "Fetch as Google Bot" feature affect crawl rate?
Hello Mozians, I have noticed many people saying using GWT fetch as GoogleBot can affect your crawl rate in future, if used regularly. Though, i am not very sure if this is true or just another stale SEO myth. As currently GWT provides a limit of 500 URLs to fetch every month. I hope my doubts will be cleared by the Moz community experts. Thanks!
