Author Rich Snippets
-
We are going through and adding Google schema to our posts. We did the preview and if looked fine, but didn't include the author image.
Is it mandatory that the author has a Google Plus account to display their image?
-
If you want their image in the Serps there needs to be an image in Google plus.
-
Yes. I would like them in SERPS, so I assume you saying we do need to have the authors in Google+.
I know it's easy, but I am thinking our authors may be a bit gun shy to join. That't why i was hoping that we could find an alternate route.
-
I assume you want the author image in SERPS I've yet to see an author without an image. There is an element of trust if you do have a author image and there isn't much of an excuse as it takes seconds to put one up.
If in doubt you can test here - http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/richsnippets
Worst case here is your name will still appear next to the search result, so it's not technically essential but Google can't display an image that's not there.

How to regain Facebook Page Authority - For page badly affected with spam users
Case- company Facebook page has more than 10K users and almost 50% are spam. When this happens, edge rank of the page is badly affected (because spam users are not interested in your shared content so they hide you/remove you from feed and of course never engage). Not to mention Facebook released an update end of 2014 where page will have less visibility anyway compared to user updates. Overall the Page updates get very less exposure / impressions Now only solution is to remove this huge no of spam users one by one or by an API. Question - Does removing the spam users regain the authority of the page ? Does that solve the overall issue ? What are the other solution to fix the situation ? Thanks.

Authorship not working despite code showing rel=author
When you run this page through the rich snippet testing tool, it says the page doesn't contain authorship markup. Problem is, a look at the code shows rel = author has been properly added, and the author has listed the domain as a site he contributes to. Hopefully someone in the forum can tell me what I'missing? Why isn't authorship effective here?

How to Benefit from Author Rank if You Have Expert Interviews
We have several interviews with industry experts on our site. How do we get the benefits from Author Rank? If I link to the interviewee's Google Plus profile, will Google recognize that they contributed to the site. Or do I need to get them to add our site to their contributor section on their Google Plus profile to receive any Author Rank benefits? (I know Author Rank is not believed to be affecting rankings yet). Thanks!

Rel Author
Should I be linking to the author's G+ profile or their Google Places for the rel author tag? It's my understanding that Google Plus profile is different from G Places and hence two different urls. If I'm linking to the profile page of the author and not their Google Places, does this have any negative impact in terms of SEO?

How Social Shares on One Page Affects Sitewide Authority
If you have a great resource on your site that earns a lot of social shares, does that improve the authority of your entire site or just that single page in the eyes of Google?

Leverage other peoples author rank for your site?
Hi quick question, lets say you find writers in your niche and get them to do a guest post for your site and they have also built up alot of author rank (active google+ account, tones of social media followers). From my understanding you cannot leverage their author rank for your site since their google+ profile needs to be connected to your site? Unless it connected, you will not get any author rank benefit? Cheers, Mark

Google 'Author' tag question (Guest Blogging)
Hi, It seems like im seeing more and more about the Author tag, its now in Webmaster Tools and Google+. If your guest blogging, is it a good idea to include the Author link back to your Google+ account? If your Google+ account is also connected to your website and Google confirms they can see the connection does the Author links help with ranking when you push them back to the connected Google+ account?

Can you set up a Google 'author' for rich snippets using a G+ business page or does it have to be a personal profile?
I've set up an author profile for myself, but if I'm writing articles for clients, I don't necessarily want to do it in my own name. Is it possible to set up a Google author profile using a G+ business page? Obviously the idea is to try and gain the rich snippets that only recognised authors receive, but to do so in the name of my client.
