Need help with excluding IP addresses in Google Analytics
-
In Google Analytics, are you able to add more than 1 IP address to an exclude filter? I found this article, http://www.creare.co.uk/filter-multiple-ip-addresses-in-google-analytics, but wasn't sure if it was the right way to do this or if I should create a new filter for each IP address. Also, when I try to create a new filter, it only will let me select from a list of profiles I have created whereas on other accounts I've been able to create several new filters without any problems. Does anyone know why this might be?

multiple IP addresses can be separated with pipes (|), but it’s important to precede each dot with a backslash () so that it’s treated as a regular full stop. You need to click on 'custom', which is next to 'predefined' and then follow this process. Make sure this is set up correctly by using real time reports.

Does the rank/filter order matter when applying these filters? I'm having the same issue. Multiple IP addresses since we are all able to work from home. No VPN.Thanks! - Cristy

They use their home IPs. Thank you, that was very helpful.
-
That depends - are the employees using a VPN while at home? If so, then they would all be coming from the office network. However, if they are using their home networks then you would need to create multiple IP filters to account for all the different IP addresses.

Hi Ray-pp, I am not trying to exclude a range of IP addresses, but instead need to exclude multiple IP addresses from different locations. We want to exclude the IP addresses of our office but also from our employee homes. Do we need to create a separate filter for each IP address if it is not a range?
-
You can specify a range of IP addresses to exclude by using regular expressions: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/1034840?hl=en
If you're unfamiliat with regex then you can use: _You can filter a simple range of addresses by using the that begin with or that end with options. _
You can apply filters at the profile view or the account view. Account view will apply the filter to all profiles on the account, so be careful with that option.

Google analytics suddenly stopped tracking all my landing pages
Hey guys. I love the new update of GA. Looks so clean. So, of course, I was excited to see how my landing pages were doing. I went to behavior, all content, all pages. And I noticed it's only showing me 19 pages out of the 93 I have indexed. And none of the top ones at all! Can't find them anywhere in GA! Anyone seen this before? Thank you so much

Whats the difference between Trackbacks & Network referrals within Google analytics social media reporting? I'd like to specifically understand why a link to site i'm working on withing this post:
http://huddled.co.uk/huddled-interviews-nicola-schaefer-from-liverpool-fc-e-l-i-t-e-s-8335/ is classed as Trackback & not a Network refferral 😞 Illustrated here is the link thats being recorded as a track back:
http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc53/zymurgy_bucket/track-back-query_zpsbab2679b.jpg And here is the data:

Google Analytics: Multi channel funnel
Hi 🙂 I have a little problem. In Multi-channel Funnel Overview I see 50 conversions from Paid Search (screenshot 1). But when I click on Assisted Conversion and then choose Paid Search, I see 31 Assisted Conversions and 32 Last Interaction Conversion. (screenshot 2) So my question is - why the number of converstions in overview (50) is different than number in Assisted Conversions (assisted or last interaction conversion, or both together)? Probably, the answer is so simply, but I can found out it! 🙂 thanks a lot. X6UihL7.png lCNsw4T.png

Google Analytics - Tracking a Goal from 1 Domain to Another
Hi there, been combing this page for some answers - https://developers.google.com/analytics/devguides/collection/gajs/gaTrackingSite but can't seem to figure it out. Scenario - Site A Site B Currently have 2 different GA accounts set up on each. Is it possible to Track a Goal that happens on Site B, that comes from Site A - In Site A Reports? So say, Site A has a Newsletter, directing them to Site A but promoting Site B - i'd like to track the effectiveness of the newsletter. Site A is running a white label of Site B service. Thoughts? Cheers
