Getting Google Plus Page to Appear
-
I've recently been making changes and updates to my company's verified local Google + page--my question is when and/or how do I configure it to appear in the search results? When I type my business into Google (Exchange Capital Management), it's not even within the results displayed. The page isn't accessible unless someone were to Google "Exchange Capital Management Google Plus." As mentioned, the page has been verified, updated, and has about 8,000+ views. Any advice or feedback is appreciated!
All best,
Lauren McLaughlin

Assuming this is your page -- https://plus.google.com/+ExchangeCapitalManagementIncAnnArbor/about -- about the only thing I could suggest is get some reviews. That would show more engagement than anything else. The Google+ page showed up when I searched for your company's name, but then I'm nowhere near Michigan.

Thanks for your response, Ryan.
I am still a bit confused after seeing similar local firms' Google + pages appear next to the business name--these competitors have similar, if not less engagement on their pages. Guess I'll just continue to step it up! Thanks again.

Hi Lauren. Cyrus wrote a nice post on this last year: http://moz.com/blog/google-plus-tips-seo, specifically, "For this method to work, it requires that your visitors actually engage." (Emphasis his). The rest of the tips break down how to incorporate the work you do there with the work you do on your site.
Next, appearance is partially a branded search question. Sometimes if there's not high enough volumes, Google doesn't incorporate it within the search results. Still, if you begin integrating it more and get user interactions: follows, reviews, comments, etc.you'll be much more likely to get it to show up. Cheers!

Are there any benefits to using Google+ for business if it has no followers and no user engagement?
My G+ for business currently has 55 followers and no engagement - apart from me liking the posts from my personal G+ Apart from the benefits of having content indexed faster, is there any other benefits for me in this situation, from an SEO perspective? I would like to grow the followers and engagement but not sure how as my social marketing skills are not as strong as my technical seo.

Google+ multiple languages
I'm facing the following situation: We have a website (barcelonacheckin.com) with multiple languages. Each language has each own url. For instance English is barcelonacheckin.com/en and Spanish is barcelonacheckin.com/es. If I'm right there seems to be a relation between the number of +1's and ranking in Google. Therefore we created a Google+ business page (https://plus.google.com/101996769636292908838) and we linked it to the english page of our web-site. The number of +1's on our business page is in sync with our English landing page. Now we want also to gather many +1's in the other languages. But it seems that you can only connect one Google+ business page to one web page. My question is. Whould it be smart to make a separate Google+ business page for each language? I wonder how other multilingual web-sites are dealing with Google+.

Page Title restructuring
Hey Mozers! Surely you have noticed Google has been randomly restructuring our Page Titles to emphasize branding by placing the company/brand first, as opposed to after the "|" - a convention we had been accustomed to. I am wondering if the aforementioned warrants restructuring our client's (where branding is important) Page Titles as per Google's lead, or simply staying on the sidelines for now and letting Google do it? Anyone care to share their take on this? Thanks! Dino

Why has Google started to re-write my page titles?
Since earlier this week I've noticed that Google has started to re-write several of our page titles and I'm not entirely sure why - does anyone have any info? We are a UK business and currently have top spot for the keyword 'toilet cubicles' - however, our index.html page title has changed as follows: FROM: Toilet Cubicles | WC Panel Systems for Washrooms | Cubicle Centre TO: Cubicle Centre: Toilet Cubicles | WC Panel Systems for Washrooms Is this Google favouring a more brand-led approach to search? Be interesting to hear everyone's thoughts... Cheers, Craig.

Google Maps Address Change
Below is an email from a former client. He is a personal trainer and his wife is a personal trainer and therapist. They used to operate out of their home. But now they have another location for their business. My questions: Will the address change work? How long will it take ? Is there anything more they can do? We've come across an interesting problem in the last couple of weeks. It took a while to figure out what was going on, but I think I've found the source. When one searches 'xxxx Athletic' on google maps (a very common way to find businesses as you know), the address that comes up is xxxxxxxxx (our home). Clients are coming to our house rather than the gym. Luckily we're only a few mins away by car, so they aren't late once they figure out what has happened. We need to change it to our new business address. I have tried to do this via Google Places, and thought I was successful this morning, but alas the listing is still our house. Perhaps it will take a few days to update, but in the meantime I have added a page to my personal Google+ profile with the proper address info. If you happen to know anyway to help us that would be great.

Should I put my "brand" in every one of my posts / pages?
I've heard different thoughts on this and wanted to see what you the seomoz group thought. I have been leaving my "brand" out of my titles so I could create longer titles (without my "brand" taking up precious space.) I've also read that adding your brand can take away from the words you want to optimize for in the title / post. I've read other places that you want your brand in every page title to "strengthen" your brand. Long story short, I'm trying to figure out if I should add my brand to the my page / post titiles, or leave them as is. Feel free to check out my site and current title template if you'd like. Thanks!

How to encourage Google to recognize us as a "brand" in the Organic SERPS
You've probably seen that for some searches (most commonly for specific product types) that Google offers something like the following in the SERPS: Related searches for widgets: | Stores: | Widgetland Widgetworld Widgetbarn Amazon |
Branding | | PathMarketing
| Brands: | Widgetdog Superwidgets Widgey | I'm working with a reputable brand of widgets - they're not just a supplier or a retailer, but a company that designs and builds its own. Does anyone know how Google decides which brands are worthy of being recognized in these related searches, and how I can encourage them to recognize our brand similarly? So far I've done the following: Knowem.com brand protection Add products to Amazon Sell our products on eBay List our products on Google Shopping In other words, do what a popular brand would do - appear in many channels, with a large and diverse footprint. Does anyone have any experience with this sort of thing, and how to help a brand get recognized as a brand?5
