Typical percentage of links found in Webmaster Tools but are not in Open Site Explorer?

50% of our links are found in Webmaster Tools but are not found in Open Site Explorer. Is this normal? If these links are not indexed does that mean our DA will not grow as high as it could until they are crawled?

Patrick pretty much nailed it.
For one thing, Google's index is bigger than ours, as they have the resources to crawl a lot more, a lot faster. Our index also tends to focus on somewhat higher-authority links—the ones that will really count in your backlink profile.There's some more information on how the index works and why URLs may be missing here.

Hi there
Different sources pull different links and therefore don't always line up. You're not going to get a set % difference. It depends on the tool, their crawler, how often they update, and the current backlinks that are active and inactive.

Paid Subscription Directory with Low Moz Open Site Explorer Spam Score
Looking at different backlinks of my competitors and came across a few directories that require a 1 time payment for the year. Is this considered the same as paying for a link or would this be considered something like getting a listing on your local Chamber of Commerce site? Also, I put the site through Moz's Open Site Explorer and it had PA:22 and DA:20, which is nothing incredible, but also had a spam score of 2. So would a site like this hurt my rankings? Is it worth it to link to sites that link to you in guest posts?
Suppose you published a guest post on a quality site and you link to a previous guest post you have written for another site (which links to you). In theory you could send link juice to the page that links to you for a second order effect. Has anyone seen results from this tactic?

Links from multiple sites coming from the same server?
Hi SEO Mozers, As I structure my link building campaign I come across alot of directories some of which are located on the same server. If I am to place links on these sites is this is negative signal for big G? The reason I ask is because I see that a competitor has used these various directories and is ranking on the no 1 spot for a moderately competetive keyword. I am able to place links on the sites with almost no effort at all therefore even if it does not pass alot of link juice is it still worth it for me. But if this is seen as a negative I would not persue it. What is your thoughts on this? Thanks in advance, Ross
