Still seeing older links
-
We have recently updated all our product page titles on our website to something more descriptive for our Google Shopping campaign. This was what was recommended we do by the folks at Google. Doing this causes all of the URLs for the products to reflect this change. The structure is as such: https://ourwebsite.com/bulbs/product_id/title. Now when Moz provides us with our weekly crawl report we see a load of duplicate page content errors (roughly the same amount as the number of product pages). I don't quite see this as a coincidence so it must be a consequence of having updated the titles.
My question is why is Moz still crawling our older links? We no longer link to any of the pages with the older URLs so why are they conflicting?

Hi there, thanks for your question! To answer your question directly, Moz would be crawling your old URLs because it is able to find them using internal links and/or your sitemap.
You can verify that Moz is crawling your old URLs -- and even see where they are finding them -- using Moz Analytics. To do this, log into into your Moz Analytics dashboard and go to the Crawl Diagnostics report, located under Search in the LH nav. The Crawl Diagnostics report will list the URLs of pages Moz has identified as duplicate content on the High Priorities tab, and how many internal and external links each of those pages has. To see the URL Moz crawled to find a specific page listed here, download the CSV file from this tab and look at the column labeled "Referrer".
Please let me know if this answers your question or not, thanks!

Hi there
Check your internal links and sitemap - you may still have old URLs lingering there.
I would also make sure that you are redirecting those old URLs properly to their new URL destination. You should do a backlink audit as well and see if there any valuable links to update so the URL reflects this new structure and you get all the equity you can.
Hope this helps! Good luck!

Hi there,
Are the old URL's still accessible?
If you change a URL it is always best to redirect the old URL to the new to avoid duplicate content.Kind Regards
Jimmy

Link Building where link building is dead. Latest tactics in a land of content.
Hello, What is your latest link building techniques considering manual link building is basically dead, and you should really build good content to drive results. Link building has really become less important. It seems to be much more 10X content now. What would you recommend for basic link building considering this besides the 50 first Links video by Rand, which is excellent. Thanks, Bob

Should I disavow nofollow links?
I've found a bunch of nofollow links with the help of Link Detox. Now, should I disavow such links (after contacating site owner directly and unsuccessfuly) or i can just filter my nofollow links and handle dofollow ones only?

Spammy Links in MOZ but when I go to the external link I can't find a link to us
I was going to try to contact webmasters to see if they would remove some of our spammy links. I see alot of them in MOZ but when you go to the site our anchor text is not there. Is this good? How often does MOZ refresh external links. Please see: http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/anchors?site=www.totalvac.com None of the links for the anchor text vacuum cleaner parts vacuum part... in MOZ exist? Internal Link Building
For a large part of our SEO we have been focusing on inbound links (mainly from guest posts and blogger reviews). But our rankings have dropped (though I understand there is a natural fluctuation in rankings quite often) this week and it occurred to me that we should be focusing more on internal link building as well. We, of course, link often to our home page and have related products on every page but we lack a lot of direct key word links in in our description. Would it behoove us to be on a specific product page--take for example owls and friends wall decals--and somewhere in the description add something like "our nursery wall decals are safe for....and have "nursery wall decals" be the direct link since that is a key term for us? I just wanted to make sure that we are headed in the right direction before I spend a massive amount of time updating all these product pages. Any input would be really helpful. Thanks so much, Elizabeth

Building Links
Hi everyone, I am new to SEO and in the process of building links the clean way. Any suggestions on how exactly I can find websites that are linking out to quality websites already? I went thru most of my competitors link building strategy - and 90% of their links are done either thru link exchange or paid links. So looking at my competitors strategy does not really help. So I need to find websites/blogs/forums that are ready to link to me if I can show them some useful content. How do I find these websites first? Please help! Cheers! Arjun

Do links within imbeddable widgets carry link juice?
I'm dipping my toes into infographic design. On of my desired outcomes is to gain links by having other sites embed my graphic. I'm considering using Tableau's interactive data visualization software to do so; thus creating a widget, embedding it on my blog, and including the embed code for others to post. Is it possible to include a juice passing link in such an infographic? I know its possible to include links inside the tableau graphic but not sure if they have straight SEO value. If these links are not juice passing would it be better to go with a simple image link that passes value?
