Kickstarting a New Site

We have recently launched a new website, (domain has been registered to us for a time - just never got round to developing the website).
Any suggestions on kickstarting quality traffic to get the ball rolling?
Basic on page SEO work has been done and a little bit of link building, although the latter has been rather difficult to find bona fides sources.
So far most of the traffic comes via referrals from bot's no actual valuable referrals or organic traffic (According to GA).
And by the way, I'm NOT interested in people offering traffic bots
I'm just looking at ways of getting the site established organically, not interested in PPC at the minute.

I agree that getting the fundamentals right is your first port of call and John's link above is a great start which covers many of the aspects you really need to get right.
I would also suggest making sure you have all the relevant social channels linked up and being interacted with, this should help you generate additional engaged traffic to your site.
Secondly, if you have a local presence for the business get started with this. Moz Local would be a good place to start as this should provide you with additional SEO benefits.
Finally, you mentioned you are getting a lot of referral bot/spam traffic, I would suggest you try and clean up your analytics and block unwanted crawlers as without you will find it hard to determine genuine traffic to your site. There is a great article from Carlos Escalera on removing ghost referral spam that I would highly recommend you read.

There are dozen of articles out there. Before you start - I would run a technical seo audit https://moz.com/blog/technical-site-audit-for-2015 - double check the site is optimized. After you have a clean bill of health.
The two things I would focus on, first is press. Can you create an buzz around the launch?, editorial links are gold. I would really push that even though it is hard work. You would be surprised how valuable a link in a local paper is, and how easy to get.
Secondly obtaining sites that will refer relevant traffic. Maybe a bargain site? etc.
In short lots of hard work, but very rewarding, good luck.

HelloI would recommend you be using href to see where competition has links your site, once you have the list, analyze and looks interesting places to put your links also considering Pa & Da and the site and follow the link is (for pudes that use Moz.)No discards directories or Web sites, whether or not payment.
It is a long and tedious work, but gives very good results.

My big and famous website is ranking worse than unknown sites, what to do?
I have a major, popular and well-established website in my niche (lil peep merch) (lilpeepmerch.net) in my country, known as the largest, or one of the largest. But even with 12 years and loads of quality content, my website ranks WAAY worse than unknown ones, most of the time not even showing up on the searches at all, or ranking like page 7 in Google, while my rival, who does the same thing I do (and sometimes worse than what I do, like just publishing news when I publish news, and information, in-depth articles) ranks page 1 in Goo. I use Yoast SEO, try to do everything I can (but I'm no developer and have no access to my site codes), but my only good result is for one specific keyword.

Considering Moving to New Domain and SEO
Hello, One of our sites has been using a domain since 2005 and is shown below. The domain is terrible for multiple reasons, hyphens and doesn't even reflect our actual company name. Not to mention its embarrassing when telling a customer to email us at support @ pro "dash, yes the hyphen" gift.... I wanted to change it long ago but feared it would hurt my SEO rankings. After taking Bruce Clay's training class back in 2004, we managed to rank top 10 for most targeted keywords. My ranking have slowly dropped over time due to neglect and decaying IBL's. We still rank for a few targeted keywords but it was just August of 2017 we were still top 10 but something happened and we dropped out of the top 100 right before our holiday season. We had to run Adwords and BingAds to supplement traffic this holiday season. So I am wondering before I restart my SEO efforts should I move the domain now before trying to build new content, IBL's, etc? I was always under the impression Google used domain trust a major factor which wasnt only IBL but also domain age. Our preferred domain I purchased from another owner and it has ZERO links to it. It was basically a parked domain with the "domain for sale" stuff. I am a little nervous about moving it over because Google didnt even have it in its index. I put up a coming soon page and hosted it on my server, same C Block, and requested a crawl from my webmaster console. I added some text to the new domain index page and it appears Google is showing results for our old domain! At first I thought it was duplicate content but its not Google obviously has deciphered current site is my old domain and is displaying the title and meta data from the old domain. I have never seen this before. Google cache shows the current domain the new domain url. A few questions: Will my site get sandboxed after 301 redirecting and going webmaster console move features etc? Does this reset the trust factors? I have read examples in my research where some people say it only took a few weeks and everything was back to normal and others that have said it took years. Any experience or insight is greatly appreciated. I am currently relearning SEO and going over the SEO tutorial articles provided on moz. Thanks again! Impact on Global SEO of Losing One Regional Site
Hi, Plans are in place to have an affiliate company take over the marketing, sale, and distribution of our products in one region of the 35 that we currently operate in. The regional site is responsible for 10% of our overall global traffic. 26% of the revenue to that specific site comes from organic search traffic. The question is whether the loss of this traffic and these pages will have any negative impact on our global SEO status?

Drop In Rankings / Traffic... Can you find any technical issues with my site?
I haven't spammed the engines, if anything I haven't done enough link building. So let me start here: I split my old domain www.STbands.com into two separate domains - www.Suddora.com and www.CustomOnIt.com . The main site now goes to Custom On It and each page directly 301 as it was relevant. I knew there was going to be a little blow back... The first month went fairly well but last week we noticed a dip in organic search traffic and sure enough some of our main keywords are now suffering. I am wondering if this is because we haven't been building enough links to the new domains or if our new eCommerce CMS (magento enterprise) has technical SEO issues that is giving Google trouble. Nothing on GWT looks terribly wrong, should i be searching for something specific? Anything helps at this point, we are in dire need of some direction on what could be wrong. Any suggestions?

Anyone have any experience with freelance graphic designer sites?
I'm wanting to get a few things designed for our site, and I was curious if anyone has any experience using any of the companies online where you can hire graphic designers. It looks like a lot of these companies use people over seas, and although some of them are talented, I don't think their styles are the same as I'm used to here. (Hope that doesn't sound bad...I'm not meaning it like that.) Does anyone have any suggestions for a good company to use online? Thanks.

A new form of competition with self
Today I discovered a new type of ranking competition. I'm still investigating, so I don't know all the details, but I think it's like this. In addition to our online store, we also sell our products via Amazon Merchant. We are the only distributor in the US, so I was surprised to see our products offered at a modest number of other sites, often with very elevated prices (not linking to Amazon, but actually selling our product on their site). I shot the product images and the images are mine. Now Sears is selling our product on Sears.com through one of their merchant sellers. The prices are grossly inflated, and the Sears Google ranking are pushing us out of places we used to be. I'm guessing that if someone actually purchases our product via Sears.com, the order will be forwarded to our Amazon listing for fulfillment, and the reseller will pocket the price difference minus a percentage for Sears. I will follow up with both Amazon and Sears, but regarding the competition with your own Amazon merchant product listings, is this a known problem? Best,
