I am thinking of starting a couple off site blogs for myself. 1 I might share some client information and link building and the other would be for me to rant.
I was thinking about doing a wordpress or blogger blog, someone recommended Tumblr.
Anyone have any suggestions?

Even if you want a blog on a separate domain, I would still go with a self hosted wordpress install. You'll look more legit, have more freedom, be able to modify / optimise the site the way you see fit and not have to worry about any 3rd party rules / limits etc.

Hi Kollin,
No matter what, for me a blog has always been synonymous with Wordpress because of unmatched options to customize, very easy on-page SEO opportunity with very nice plugins and the list can go on...
Best regards,
Devanur Rafi.

Blog commenting counter exact match do-follow backlinks?
Hi, I was wondering if blog commenting (no-follow links with names as anchor text) is a good way to counter possible overuse of exact match do-follow backlinks?

Has anyone used Fat Joe as an outsource solution for blog links?
Hi guys, I have seen a company on social media a lot recently who offer a guest blog posting service. It seems to be reasonable quality from the reviews and the blurb they give as they at least seem to find you a relevant blogger to match up with, actually write good content with as many reviews as is needed and then post it to just that one page. I noticed on their site they have claimed that their service is Loved by Moz but I couldn't find any reference to them anywhere on the Moz site. My question is - has anyone used them and are the links going to be any good for my site?

Is commenting on other peoples blogs / articles good for seo?
Hello everyone, Just a quick question, say if I find some websites which are relevant to my service and they have articles I can comment on and include my URL , will these help for SEO? The websites also have a good PR rating higher than 3 does this count towards anything? Would these links be classed 'follow' or 'nofollow' links - could something please explain what this means aswell. Thanks very much!

Beyond Guest Blogging, What Else Works Now?
Given the importance of editorial links & co-citation, beyond guest blogging what other high-value link-building tactics should I be looking at to boost organic search placings? Specifically, in Apr 2013 is there still mileage in directories (such as these on the SEOMoz list) or on this GetListed list; or in placing content on social sites such as Squidoo?

Blog Directories
Will links from blog directories to our subfolder-located blog within our website help the ranking of our overall site? In other words, will it just help the rankings of the main blog page (where the directory links are pointing to), or will it pass the link juice to the rest of the site? Thanks!

Linkbuilding on deep Blog pages
So I think I've got a good strategy going but wanted to get others feedback on it... I've been link building on a lot of blogs via reviews and giveaways. Frequently, these blogs give my posts limited exposure on the Home Page because the posts quickly get buried by new posts and eventually pushed off the home page to the "older posts" pages. Sometimes, reviews never even touche the home page because they live one level down on a "reviews" page which typically has 0 inbound links and low page authority. In these cases, I will use OSE to find the blog post with the strongest back link profile and request a link on that page instead. Typically, these posts are 2-3 years old so the bloggers are usually happy to give an old page some action. I'm a bit concerned though..Since these pages are frequently old, their content has not changed for years. Essentially, the pages have gone stale. Am I getting any benefit from these links? They typically have the 2nd best Page Authority on the Domain, but I'm wondering if the lack of fresh content kills all the value.
