should we invest more on adwords and organic isn't important like before??
The first question..... Can you make a profit with Adwords? Most people don't make a profit and don't know it because they don't know their real costs and margins -- or they hire an SEO who bids without any of that information.
Second question... Can you pull off the rankings?... Most people can't... and that's why they are blowing their dough on Adwords.
Answer those questions and you know if you should take Door #1, Door #2, or Door #3 (which is try a different project.

I was reading as what brought in overall more compared to the two channels. I found data from Similar Web reports in shopping categories that 5% of all traffic came via paid and organic was around 95% (just the messenger on this).
Typically new sites heavily rely on generating traffic via ppc before organic kicks in. If you are generating traffic via ppc, take Roman's advice. Also, implement a good attribution framework to figure out your ROI or it will likely cost you. If you generate calls, get a unique number or use DNI to track your campaigns. Well worth the money.

Does paid search get more traffic compared to organic search now? depends on your budget and your ROI, the faster way to get traffic is paid search if you select this option you need to think about Optimization, Optimization and again Optimization, optimize ads, keywords, ads groups, audience, landing pages etc. This is the key, between a successful campaign and simply burn your money.
These resources are really useful for that
But trust me a Good Outreach campaign can boost your sale and audience in a way that PPC can not do. "Justin Howard" the founder of Sprout spent a year making guest posting even before he launch his website and get 50K subscribers just with outreachh.
So there is no right way all depends on your strategy.

Paid vs. Organic for Brand
HI We've seen a huge drop paid campaigns for impressions on brand terms YOY - 37,140 vs. 792. Our impression share is still high. Organic is higher this year for impressions also. An agency manage created the campaigns for us and can't seem to find a reason, but the drop is huge - it seems like it's just people not searching but we haven't seen this in organic - could it be organic showing instead of paid ads for brand terms? Paid is fairly new to me, so just doing some fact finding Thanks!

Custom Filter: Organic Traffic Growth VS Paid Traffic Growth
Hi guys, I need some assistance. We recently removed and disavowed links to our site and I believe it has been about 3 months but I can't see much of a change. Can anyone help me with a filter for GA to be able to measure my organic traffic growth and my Paid search traffic growth. I was also wondering, because organic traffic is determined by variables like fresh, relavant and key phrase rich content constantly being posted, good seo practices etc is there any good way of measuring organic traffic growth vs paid? Please help out where you can.

G Analytics Appears to Show Bing but not Yahoo Paid Traffic
I am running ads across Bing / Yahoo network. I have set up a unique destination URL for these Bing / Yahoo Ads, using Google Campaigns URL Builder. However, in Google Analytics it appears to keep showing as organic traffic from Yahoo. What may be going wrong here?

PPC seems to have had a seriously negative impact on organic rankings?!?
We've been targeting a keyword on behalf of a client for the last few months. The page had good content and had been steadily climbing the rankings. It reached a position of #12 and then suddenly dropped off. Within 2 weeks it was out of the top 50 and is now around the 10th or 11th page (useless). This drop off matched exactly with the cleint switching on a low level PPC campaign, driving traffic from this specific keyword. The stats on this have shown a really high bounce rate (so we'll need to ask some other questions about content) - but could this be the reason that organic stats have taken a hammering? If Google associated people landing n that page from that keyword (even though its paid) as not finding relevant content, I'm assuming this could have a negative impact on the organic rank? Any Thoughts Welcome....!!!

Questions on Paid Directory Links...
Hi Moz Community! We have a client in the manufacturing industry that is listed in Thomasnet.com for a about 75 different terms. For those that might not know, this is a paid directory site that ranks extremely well and has a very high DA at just under 90. These 75 different terms have spanned about 9,000 "dofollow" links on Thomasnet.com around 4 months back, right about the same time as the Penguin 2.0 update. The link profile for this client had around 2,000 links prior to the 9,000 additional links, and our team is unclear if we should be concerned about these paid directory links. The organic rankings have dropped a bit, but that might be because of a more general Penguin update and not be directly tied to this paid directory. I'm looking for some general guidance and recommendations in this paid directory space and help with Thomasnet.com if available. Should these links be requested as changed to "nofollow"?

Will Google see this domain as one major domain link?
What other recommendations/experience with "quality" paid directories can be expected? Thanks much and look forward to your comments and discussion. Dario0 -
Paid Search Visits Not Showing Up in Google Analytics
Hey all, Just took over SEM for my company, and noticed a bit of a problem with GA. Whereas Adwords has registered 141 clicks on paid campaigns that go to the site, GA has tracked only 5 vists in that time. Two things of note: The GA account was not linked to the Adwords account until today, and also, auto-tagging was not turned on. I understand these two things are important to having proper GA tracking, but I just want to make sure that there aren't any other things I should check right now to make sure I start to see tracked paid visits again. Is there anything else I should try? Cheers.

Can I dynamically add city name to my PPC ad text and URL based on the user's search?
I have looked into DKI (Dynamic Keyword Insertion), but have not found a solution and thought that some excellent Mozzer might be able to help. Here is the idea: We have landing pages for hundreds of cities. The local content on each of these cities changes page to page, however the keywords that we are going after are the same. So, I am trying to create a dynamic ad group that looks something like this: Headline: {City Name} {Keyword} Description: We cover {City Name} {Keyword}, get more info now! URL: http://www.website.com/{City Name} Please let me know if you can assist with this, B

Google Analytics Matched Search Query Not Working
On Google analytics for our clients when you check the Matched Search Query under Traffic Sources > Overview, it says "There is no data for this view.". I have Google searched it and i am not finding my answer to why this is not displaying my information. On my personal analytics account when i clicked on matched search query it displays exactly what the person searched when it trigered my adwords ad. I have no idea why this account doesn't display the same info when it appears to be setup in the same way. Example: If i am broad match targeting the keyword "outdoor sports", and someone searched "Canadian outdoor sports for kids" It would show exactly what they searched under Matched Search Query. Anyone know how to resolve this issue?
