Permalink structure of an excising website
-
Hey everyone,
We have a website - a business directory. It is a large directory with lots of B2B listings. So currently our URL structure for the categories look like this:
dispensarystack.com/category/professional-services/
**We want to rank for the KW "dispensary professional services". **
Is it enough that we have the word dispensary in our brand name and in this way in the URL structure or is it better to make the slug:
**dispensarystack.com/category/**dispensary-professional-services/
Or even closer to the root of the website:
**dispensarystack.com/**dispensary-professional-services/
Thank you for your time and answers!

Hi there,
Although there are many SEO articles and guides that encourage webmasters to use the keyword in the URL slug, in my experience with large websites there is no gain on doing that.
Please, if you are optimizing a really small website on close to non-competed on SERPs, then there is a small chance that having your target keyword in the slug helps.I would spend my resources and time on optimizing content, technical debts and speed on those pages rather than this simple slug thing.
Did I answer your question?
Hope it helps.
Best luck! -

SEO impact classifieds website
Hi, I'm part of an organization running a classifieds platform in Spain. (Mercadonline.es) We are hit by Google penalties since a few weeks, possibly caused by numerous errors we are experiencing. Most frequent errors are 404's and duplicate content (titles tags etc) since the nature of our website is dynamic. Many ads change daily, are added or removed, causing Googlebots (and others) to flag us and not being able to see our more unique content. Until what part of our platform should we be indexed? Since we have +34,000 pages indexed (mostly due to internal filter pages) I would need a systematic solution for us to display relevant and unique content, with enough usage of keywords that can bring us back up - we are actually ranked <50 on google for most of our main keywords. It is costing us precious time and money since we can only aquire our visitors (adwords etc) and not being to attract any organically. I can go in more detail with someone who can give me a bit more direction. Your answer is much appreciated! Ivor

Structured Data Authorship
Hi I've just successfully set up authorship for a client according to the rich snippet testing tool although bit perplexed since underneath the results theres a section called 'Extracted Structured Data'. The first section is marked hatom feed and under that it says under the field saying 'Author' it says in red: Warning: At least one field must be set for Hcard.Warning: Missing required field "name (fn)".And then under the URL field & the URL it says:Warning: Missing required field "entry-title".Any ideas what this means or even if its important ? I would have thought the tool wouldnt acknowledge authorship as being set up correctly if this was an issue but that does beg the question what is it doing there and what does it mean ?Theres another section after that called rdfa node which seems all fineAlso says page does not contain publisher mark up although i know publisher has been added to the home page, is it best to add publisher to head section in every page (as i have heard some people say) or just the home page ?Many ThanksDan

Website redesign launch
Hello everyone, I am in the process of having my consulting website redesigned and have a question about how this may impact SEO. I will be using the same URL as I did before, just simply replacing an old website with a new website. Obviously the URL structure will change slightly since I am changing navigation names. Page titles will also change. Do I need to do anything special to ensure that all of the pages from the old website are redirected to the new website? For example, should I do a page level redirect for each page that remains the same? So that the old "services" page is pointed to the new "services" page? Or can I simply do a redirect at the index page level? Thank you in advance for any advice! Best, Linda
