Does having Multiple Similar Topic pages hurt my ranking?

Hi,
We have an ecommerce store and currently have topic pages setup for each category/location combination, each topic page lists relevant products available for sale, so for example
Most Popular Birthday Party products in UK
Most Popular Birthday Party products in London
Most Popular Birthday Party products in ManchesterWe are now looking at ways of capitalising on longtail keyword searches and a potential solution is to expand the number of Topic Pages/Location combinations so for example
Most Popular Birthday Party products in UK
Cheapest Birthday Party products in UK
Birthday Party products for small groups in UK
Birthday Party products for large groups in UK
Children Birthday Party products for in UK
etcIn general would this be a positive or negative thing to do for our site to give each longtail keyword its own dedicated topic page (given that our crawl budget is not necessarily high). Or should we just try to add longtail keyword to the original topic page itself and make that one rank better?

Silo not ranking for main silo page - what can I do?
Hi everyone, I set up a silo for my page http://werkzeug-kasten.com/ . Unfortunately only the silos inner pages rank very good. These are for example http://werkzeug-kasten.com/suchmaschinenoptimierung-seo-freiburg/keyword-analyse/ for "Keywordanalyse SEO Freiburg" <a>http://werkzeug-kasten.com/suchmaschinenoptimierung-seo-freiburg/onpage-seo/</a> for "Onpage SEO Freiburg" ... but the silos main page <a>http://werkzeug-kasten.com/suchmaschinenoptimierung-seo-freiburg/</a> does not rank for "SEO Freiburg". 2 pages ranking for the same term
Hi everyone, I have had two pages ranking on page two of Google for a while now for the same term. I have tried dedicating a page to it but as the other has a url with the search term in Google is ranking both it seems. How can I without deindexing one of the pages help better tell Google which one to rank? I imagine if it only ranked one page I would get a higher result rather than 2 weaker ones? On-site has been done and so has links to the homepage, but the innerpage still ranks also as it has the search term in its url. Would a canonical tag be worth it here? the page is however getting some traffic itself for other terms so I am reluctant to do that. Any help much appreciated.

Duplicate page content and Duplicate page title errors
Hi, I'm new to SeoMoz and to this forum. I've started a new campaign on my site and got back loads of error. Most of them are Duplicate page content and Duplicate page title errors. I know I have some duplicate titles but I don't have any duplicate content. I'm not a web developer and not so expert but I have the impression that the crawler is following all my internal links (Infact I have also plenty of warnings saying "Too many on-page links". Do you think this is the cause of my errors? Should I implement the nofollow on all internal links? I'm working with Joomla. Thanks a lot for your help Marco

Deep Page is Ranking for Main Keyword, But I Want the Home Page to Rank
A deep page is ranking for a competitive and essential keyword, I'd like the home page to rank. The main reasons are probably: This specific page is optimized for just that keyword. Contains keyword in URL I've optimized the home page for this keyword as much as possible without sacrificing the integrity of the home page and the other keywords I need to maintain. My main question is: If I use a 301 redirect on this deep page to the home page, am I risking my current ranking, or will my home page replace it on the SERPs? Thanks so much in advance!

Local SEO (Rankings) + UK-wide SEO (national rankings) - achieving both
Hi All, For clients wishing to sell online / generate leads nationally, yet still want to have a local online presence to attract town / county-wide customers, I've often placed Town / County locations within both the Title Tag (or just County if space is limited) and Meta Description, plus within the Hx headings, Alt-text and within the footer of every page. My question is, does adding the location of the client within these fields really infringe their attempts to rank nationally, as some nationally ranked pages have no mention of location while others have their location (Town, County or Both) shown within them?
