Google Displaying Same Meta description for all pages?
-
Hi all,
I am wondering if you can help – I have a client using Yoast for their Meta descriptions and each is filled in and unique, but when searching ‘ski magic’ on Google, the page with linked pages under all but one show the same meta description? I am hoping you can see the issue in the image below

No problem, I've not gotten on with Yoast in some time, seems more like it's trying to sell than help in the last few years! Content won't do any more harm at a minimum but at best it should help establish pages. You can also see 'pilar pages' by Hubspot as a helpful way on how to create your content around central ideas. You just have to look at the site and wonder why Google would ignore the meta. Good luck with it.

@gpainter Hi, thank you for the help!
I have swapped to Rank Math now as I think it is a better tool so the cause will not have been a conflict with Yoast.
This isn't a client we do too much work for, they simply reach out when they would like some help with something like this issue.
Perhaps I will propose that we optimize their site content.
Thanks again!

hey @solvewebmedia
i've only jsut gotten around to your question, sorry. I can see you now have rank math running on your site not sure if you are still using yoast and its conflicted but regards to the issue, Google, if it feels your descriptions don't fix what it wants, will ignore them.
I would also advise looking over your schema - https://search.google.com/test/rich-results/result/r%2Flocal-business?id=k4ZxvOE0tUDyI7v5g3fx6w as that's a bit odd and might be giving some mixed signals.
The biggest area I would start on is content lets look at your image and take e.g. 'Catered ski chalets' You don't really have an intro text that google might use to help get some context of the page and yes you do have meta but does it relate to the rest of the page ? remember Googles a robot so look at that page and try to think what its about as there is a lot of pricing but not much info on what is happening etc.
Hope some of that helps and best of luck.

Long Meta Titles on Dynamic Pages
What to do with long meta titles on press release pages. Unlike other pages on the site, press release pages have no physical value and are dynamically created picking data from the database. Such pages i notice are automatically picking the URL/H1 as meta title and meta description. How to shorten such meta titles and descriptions? Do such errors (related to dynamically created pages) matter? Tanveer

Any idea how Google is doing this? Is it schematic? http://techcrunch.com/2014/02/28/google-adds-full-restaurant-menus-to-its-search-results-pages/
Google is now showing menus on select searches. Any idea how they are getting this information? I would like to make sure my clients get visibility this way.

I've just manually edited all the page titles and meta descriptions on a site, when will this show in Google results?
I've just manually edited all of the page titles, meta descriptions and optimised the copy on a client's site. I submitted this for a new crawl on Google via Webmaster Tools but when I do a Google search the old versions are still showing. Will it still take a few weeks for the new versions to show even though Google has crawled it via Webmaster?

On-Page SEO Priorities: Title's, Anchor Text or Meta data?
**Any suggestions for prioritized on-page SEO work? Relative weights of importance? ** **What is most important from highest to lowest? ** MetaTag Descriptions? Titles? Anchor Text? Alt Text - for images? Anything else? We might not be able to do everything at once like I desire ......but I do feel we should at least get the ball moving in the right direction. I am looking for ideas or suggestions on what to prioritize for a little bit of on-page SEO work on our website. I personally feel that SEO is pretty important but I am a novice. I have been reading this site the past week and want to convince my webpage guy that on-page SEO is important and that we should at least do a few things and gradually get the work done. Rightfully so our #1 priority is to redesign our landing pages (they are bad) . I also think we should do a little On-Page work concurently. (Lack of on-page SEO is also preventiing me from successfully submitting and being accepted by Dmoz, Yahoo, BOW etc) He is mainly a back engine guy and does a very good job with that. If I were to TELL him to do a few prioritized on-page SEO things what would you suggest? He did do something on the home page at my suggestion but that is all to this point. We have over 400 pages indexed with very little on-page SEO on them. Thank you, UtahTiger

What URL Should I use in Google Place Page?
Alright, I have a client that has 1 website and 14 locations. We want to create place pages for each of their locations but my question is which URL should I put in the place page and why? I can put in the root domain into each place page, or should I put in the URL that lands on the actual location on the root. example: domain.com/location1 Thanks!

Why some pages are not indexed?
I have a furniture´s ecommerce. When searching for "site: movstore.com.br" returned 1080 results, but if I search for "site: movstore.com.br / Product" returned 1020 results. I mean, that 1080 indexed pages, 1020 are products pages and the other 60 pages are irrelevant. Where are the category pages? "site: movstore.com.br / Categories" - 0 results
