Why Moz is showing Spam Score at my New Domain?
-
Hi folks
I just registered a new domains boring magazine but I forgot to check the spam score. Recently, I checked and it showing spam score of 46% without any backlinks. You can check the domain age is 30 Days only till now.
Need your recommendations on how can I reduce it and on which basis Moz showing it as spams?

Moz's Spam Score for your new domain may be influenced by several factors, including:
Domain history: If the domain was previously associated with spammy content or behaviors.
Link profile: Low-quality backlinks or links from spammy sites can affect your score.
Content quality: If the site content appears low-quality or poorly optimized.
To improve your Spam Score, consider building a high-quality backlink profile, ensuring your content meets best practices, and regularly monitoring your domain's health. If you need further assistance, feel free to ask! -
Yes, I forgot to check can you please have a look at my site boring magazine and suggest me what should I do now?
-
Domain History: If the domain was previously registered and had a bad reputation or was used for spammy activities, Moz might carry over that history, flagging it with a higher Spam Score.
Poor Quality Backlinks: If low-quality or spammy websites are linking to your new domain, even unintentionally, Moz can detect this and assign a higher Spam Score. It's important to check your backlink profile using tools like Moz or Google Search Console.

so, has the domain name been owned before? your web designers, should be able to tell you if the domain name has been owned before, if so, make sure that the previous owners, have not completed low quality SEO as this could effect your SEO.

hey @ImranZahidAli It looks like your new domain has a high spam score right now, which can be pretty common for new sites. This usually happens because new domains don't have a lot of history, and they might have picked up some low-quality links or issues with content and SEO. To fix this, start by checking if there are any bad backlinks and disavow them if necessary. Focus on building high-quality, relevant links and make sure your content is unique and valuable. Improve your site’s SEO by optimizing title tags, meta descriptions, and headers, and ensure your site is user-friendly. Also, verify your domain’s history and make sure your registration details are clear and from a reputable registrar. Avoid any spammy SEO tactics, and engage with your audience through quality content and interactions. Regularly monitor your spam score to keep track of improvements. It may take some time, but with these steps, you should see a decrease in your spam score and a boost in your site’s reputation.

Great question! Moz's Spam Score can be a bit puzzling when it appears on a new domain. Often, this happens because Moz's algorithms assess various factors based on the link profile and overall website metrics. For new domains, even if your site is brand new, Moz might flag it due to similarities in link patterns or domain characteristics that resemble spammy sites

Unsolved Spam Score Blank - Looking For Feasible Solution
Hi,
Link Explorer | | Jane090987
There is a question in my website. When I'm searching the number of spam score of my site, it shows "--".
In the official article it shows that the reason of "--" happens is that our site has not been evaluated by Moz. But there aren't any ways of solutions, seems that we can only wait - not knowing how long - for being evaluated.
Is there any way that I can get my site evaluated by Moz, and the spam score of my website can be displayed as an exact number?
Thanks for answering in advance!0 -
How to get rid of bad backlinks
So I noticed my rankings going down and spam score going up. So under my spam score there are over 100 links for different websites but ALL redirect to semalt.com I researched it and it says they hijacked a bunched of backlinks but don't know much more. How can I get rid of all those backlinks? I was told I could use the disavow tool but apparently that can hurt my ranking as well. The semalt.com site has no backlink to me - it looks like the pages that have/had my backlinks, they've redirected to them. For instance this is one of the links http://www.oxvideos.xyz/indianantyphotoxxx 422005fb-9240-40a4-8b65-f5b1f5079dea-image.png

Change domains and start over?
We have a fairly new client who has taken part in many questionable SEO technique over the past few years (mainly buying links and directory web pages). In an effort to fix this they hired three separate SEO’s – we are the fourth. Over the past 3 months we have spent lots of time following best practice techniques to clean up and improve their rankings (including link removal requests but not yet disavow), and after some initially positive results, things are looking down again. Given Google’s apparent rolling algorithm updates and the mess we have found, we are wondering if the best option is to change domains and start over (downside is that they are in a highly competitive industry)? My other question pertains to a domain change and if we were to change from a plural to a singular, would that be enough for Google? (e.g from www.domains.com to www.domain.com). The idea is that we start the link building process again – but keep their brand intact. Really appreciate any feedback.

Do I need to undo a 301 redirect to dissavow links from the source domain?
A client came to me after being hit by Penguin and had already performed a 301 redirect from site A to Site B. Site B was subsequently hit by the penalty a number of weeks later and we are planing on performing link removal for Site A. Only the webmaster tools account for Site B exists, none is still available for site A. I assume that I cannot dissavow links to site A from Site B's webmaster tool account (even though website A's links show up in the GWT account). So do I need to undo the 301 and then create a new GWT account for site A in order to disavow the links pointing to site A, or can I submit from Site B's GWT account since they are 301'd to site B? Thanks! Chris [edited for formatting]

Old SPAM tactic still works and gets TOP 3 in SERP?
Hi Mozers, Below you can see some examples of spam ( hidden text and sneaky redirects) which are in SERP for our branded keywords during last 3 months. Some of them occupy very high position in SERP (top 3/top5). https://www.google.com/search?num=100&newwindow=1&safe=off&biw=1883&bih=1028&q=%22your+mac+-%22%2B%22cleanmymac%22 I sent spam reports and I’m going to continue doing so. (~500 spam reports from personal and work google account) I contacting directly with some of the hacked sites (web-masters) and tried to help them to fix this issue, but it takes a lot of my time. But 3 months!? Can you give me any advice, what doing next? Thank you!
