Actually, EGOL is an expert in his field, and gave some great advice. You've got a tough road ahead of you with scraping products, so I heartily endorse his thought of focusing on a relatively small number of products first, giving them a lot of attention, and seeing if that will work.

To avoid huge losses, I would start with your best 100 products. See if you can make money. If you don't make money give thanks that you didn't go all in.
I wouldn't bet a lot. It's really hard for anybody who is less than expert to make a profit in adwords.

Risks of moving a site back to an old domain
Hi Nearly 2 years ago our site was moved from a .co.uk domain to .media. Because this TLD isn't supported for DA, it's hard to measure whether linkbuilding campaigns (for example) are having a positive effect. The old site has a DA of 38 (even after 2 years of inactivity) and the new one is 1, but the new one has better Trust and Citation flow, for example. I'm now investigating whether it's worth moving back to .co.uk and I want to fully understand the risks involved. So far I know of the following potential risks: It's a lot of work so human error is a real risk Could create a redirect loop as the old site has 301 redirects in place to the new one It will take several months for metrics to recover Any thoughts on more risks, how these challenges can be overcome etc will be welcome. Or do I just set fire to the lot and create a new site with yet another 301 redirect from the .media site? What would you do?

Domain Change Before or After Site Revamp?
In the last year traffic to our site has dropped in half and ranking has dropped significantly. Very little no content has been added in that time. We would now like to improve ranking by adding new content. 2 domains effectively exist for the site. The existing domain is www.nyc-officespace-leader.com. But www.metro-manhattan.com redirects to www.nyc-officespace-leader.com. Our company is Metro Manhattan Office Space, Inc.. We registered www.metro-manhattan.com and created the redirect to www.nyc-officespace-leader.com in 2012. www.nyc-officespace-leader.com was registered in 2006. Many links to the site show www.metro-manhattan.com and I believe this may be a source of confusion for Google. Would it be best to make the domain consistent at this time by redirecting it once and for all and to do so before adding new content? If this is done correctly can we avoid taking a hit on ranking? Note: -www.nyc-officespace-leader.com is the old domain.

-www.metro-manhattan is the new domain but has existed since 2012 and has been redirecting to the old domain since then
-The company name is Metro Manhattan Office Space (similar in branding to the new domain) Am I correct in assuming that having the 2 domains may be causing issues with Google involving domain authority? Change the domain before adding content or add content before?0 -
Why isn't the canonical tag on my client's Magento site working?
The reason for this mights be obvious to the right observer, but somehow I'm not able to spot the reason why. The situation:

I'm doing an SEO-audit for a client. When I'm checking if the rel=canonical tag is in place correctly, it seems like it: view-source:http://quickplay.no/fotball-mal.html?limit=15) (line nr 15) Anyone seing something wrong with this canonical? When I perform a site:http://quickplay.no/ search, I find that there's many url's indexed that ought to have been picked up by the canonical-tag: (see picture) ..this for example view-source:http://quickplay.no/fotball-mal.html?limit=15 I really can't see why this page is getting indexed, when the canonical-tag is in place. Anybody who can? Sincerely 🙂 GMdWg0K0 -
Approach for discontinued categories and products
My web site previously offered several categories of an indoor type of product, which have since been permanently discontinued. We do still offer a full line of the outdoor type of these products. The usage is quite different (indoor vs. outdoor), and customers looking for the indoor variety are not likely to be immediately interested in the outdoor ones. But the pages for the discontinued categories and products have built up significant page authority and rank quite well even for more generic searches which are not indoor or outdoor specific. I am interested in opinions on what approach to take for the discontinued category pages and product pages. Currently, the discontinued pages are accessible by direct link, but have been removed from the site's navigation menus and on-site search. The pages include some messaging for visitors to inform that we no longer offer this type of product, with some links to active categories. We can remove these pages and serve a 404 error page. Or, we can redirect these pages to the outdoor product category (but all would have to be redirected to a single category, as the specific outdoor categories and products don't map logically to specific indoor ones). Or, we can keep as-is. I am interested in opinions on approach, either between these options above, or other alternatives.

Can a move to a new domain (with 301's) shake off a google algorithm penalty
we have done everything under the sun using the holy grail of google guidelines to get our site back onto page 1 for our domain. we have recovered (penguin and panda) algorithm filters for keywords that were page 1 going to page 7 and now page 2. its been 2 years and we cant hit page 1 again. this is our final phase we cna think of.. do you thin kit will work if we move to a new domain. and how much traffic/rankings can we expect to lose in the short-term?

Product Category Subcategory hierarchy
Hi all, I am developing an ecommerce store and would like some advice on the Category / Product URL structure for SEO purposes. Products have many options Products belong to a sub-category. Sub categories belong to a category There will be a maximum of 500 products in the database. 1. http://shop.com/{category}/{product_slug}?{product_option} Flattened with query string option http://shop.com/apple/iphone-5s?model=32gb&colour=white 2. http://shop.com/{category}/{subcategory}/{product_slug}?{product_option} // Hierarchical with query string option 3. http://shop.com/{category}/{product_slug}/{product_option} 4. http://shop.com/{category}/{subcategory}/{product_slug}/{product_option} 5. http://shop.com/{category}/{product-slug} http://shop.com/apple/iphone-5s-32gb-black Option 5 seems best to me, however I am also worried about duplicate content between pages. http://shop.com/apple/iphone-5s-32gb-black http://shop.com/apple/iphone-5s-64gb-black http://shop.com/apple/iphone-5s-64gb-white The above 3 examples will all have very similar content. And if I use canonical url tag, which product page would I refer these pages to? At least with Option 1 I can use the canonical tag to tell search engines that pages with get parameters can point to the non get parameter version. In addition to Option 5, should I create a http://shop.com/{category}/{subcategory} page? That way Option 5 item canonical tags can point to that page. e.g. http://shop.com/apple/iphone-5s which would contain product summary detail with product options listed on the page? Am I missing something here or can anybody provide a better solution?
