Click-to-call mobile event tracking
-
Hello!
I want to track calls on mobile devices from a website.
I was able to successfully set up an event with Google Analytics that tracks when a user clicks the phone # on the website, however, as you know, when someone clicks a phone # using iOS it prompts a display of the # and gives the users two options, Cancel or Call.
My question: is there any way to track when the user clicks the 'Call' action?
Thanks

Makes sense.

The user clicks on call or cancel button on their phone, which is out of your hands (unless you are running it in an app).
In order to track a call, you could try out call tracking software e.g.: https://calltrackingmetrics.com/
Another more basic option is to assign a phone number which is only listed on a specific landing page that only mobile users see. The only thing that should change is the phone number (to avoid cloaking).
You could then have your phone company forward that call to your number and you could register the number of calls there.

Tracking PDF downloads from SERP clicks
For the longest time, our company policy has always been to put PDFs in a secure folder (hence they are not indexed and do not appear in search results). After evaluating this strategy, there has been clamor in recent months to allow Google to index our whitepapers. My question: Once PDFs start appearing in search results, what is the best way to start tracking clicks due to these "downloads"?

How can I track this? I believe it is showing up under direct/ none and I don't know to measure the success of our new partnership.

Registration tracking with Google Analytics
Hi everyone, I want to track user registrations with Google Analytics for a customer's website. The thing is after registration visitors are not directed to a specific page, so I can't set it as a goal. I thought of tracking submit button with event tracking, but that data would not be true as a visitor may click it more than once, and there's the login with facebook and twitter thing. Before convincig customer to create a registration confirmation page, I want to make sure there's no other way as they don't want to make any changes to the current website. Any ideas?

Tracking Multiple Top Level Domains in GA
Hi, I am setting up Google Analytics for www.example.co.uk and www.example.ie Is this as simple as just adding GA tracking code 'track Multiple top-level domains'? With this method how can I distinguish between each site's incoming traffic? Do filters needed to be created? Thanks in advance 🙂
