Why there is no tool that check the page content ?
-
When using the SEO tool:
http://www.seomoz.org/keyword-difficulty/google.com
We can see the top 10 competition on a lot of parameters but i think you are missing the research on PAGE TEXT CONTENT.
What do you say ?
-
I think the tool can determine a lot of keyword statistics from all the top 10 ranked on the specific keyword you exam.
-
Clearly link building and content relevancy are both very important to SEO.
The difference with respect to tools is we can see content by looking at a page, where we can't see who is linking to a page without tools or additional investigation.
-
Don't you think it's important at least as link building ?
-
For checking content, I like the LDA tool which is the first tool listed in the SEOmoz lab section: http://www.seomoz.org/labs/lda
If you like the tool, you may also want to see Virante's version: http://www.virante.com/seo-tools/lda-content-optimizer
The only reason I mention their version is Rand shared the SEOmoz tool is not currently being developed further.

What to do about one site dominating search results? (multiple pages ranking)?
Anybody have thoughts on dealing with search results where the same site gets listed multiple times? "weebly vs wix" is one example (same site #1-3, repetitive articles, not crazy high authority), but I see this now and then. I know Google likes variety, so it's weird for me to see results like this dominating search results. Thoughts? What gets these sites to take over the top rankings for a specific term? Any way to rise up in this situation, outside of the usual? Any tips on duplicating this kind of success?

I am looking to find the top pages based on traffic volume on my competitors websites, does anyone know of any good resources?
I want to know how which pages on my competitors websites are the most popular based on the traffic volume. I do not care how many links or directed to that page or any other metric. Only thing I am looking for is the traffic volume. It would also be nice to know the length of time spent on that page.

http://www.stumbleupon.com/
http://friendfeed.com/ Are replacing my posts even if i am searching for an exact title of the post. For example this search query:
Christmas Party Style Sets With Black Cocktail Dresses Original post here:

Working through the slides on my first seo project, I'm trying to determine the most popular content on competition sites.
From the video, I understand I should be looking for unique opportunities. But is there a baseline for product qualification, ie., a min. PA,LRD, Inbound LInks, social shares, etc. I guess I'm asking what I should be looking for in the data provided on each competing site? What determines THE most popular and unique product?

Different SERP results in browsers / different result pages for keyword in browser
Hi, I am making the SEO reports for a travel agency and I have the following problem. SEOmoz shows me the website is on page 1, for a keyword. Yesterday, a google search with firefox showed me the same position, while, searching from a different computer on google using firefox gave me another position. The URL shown was also different. I asked some friends to do the search - the results were the same - first page. Today, firefox shows me the second URL on the 4'th page, and the result from the first page of google does not appear, while Chrome still shows me the first URL on the first page. I have no idea why the URL that was ranking well does not appear on the first page with Firefox, and why it appears on the first page with Chrome, or why the URL that was ranking bad -meaning page 4, appears on Firefox but does not appear on Chrome. Can someone give me some advice?

Link to landing page or home page
Ok, so I've been doing a bit of link research and found that most of our competitors use anchor text to link to their homepage on their site and not a specific landing page. Our current strategy is to link to the correct landing page depending on the anchor to get these to rank, as opposed to getting our homepage to rank for different keywords. If that makes sense. The main reason I can think of to send all links to the homepage is that it would increase the domain authority of the site as a whole. Instead of spreading the links to certain pages depending on the anchor text. It would also give your one page a greater chance to rank for all keywords? Quick example I am a site that sells sports clothes. I have 2 main pages from my homepage: Homepage Football Rugby _Should I link to the football page for all links anchored with "football", and all linked anchored with "rugby" to the rugby page OR should I anchor all links including "rugby" and "football" to the homepage? _ What do you think is the best strategy? Thanks in advance.

What metrics are you using to build profiles of competitors Google Places pages?
Hi, I am attempting to put together a set of procedures to undertake when optimizing Google Places pages. Does anyone have a good list of metrics and methods for determining them in order to build profiles of competitors' Places pages? Thanks

Where are the best places online to build powerful profile pages
So on SEOmoz you can create a profile page with followed links (after 200 points), just as you can do on Google Profiles. I'd like to build a strong backlink profile which features some of these highest links that my competitors will not have the time or effort to do. I'm working hard to answer questions on SEOmoz and to be a helpful part of the community, and have published some Google Knols for the Google profile building. My question is; are there any other sites that allow the same type of responsible profile building, preferably SEO related as this is my area of expertise. Thanks Aaron Solar Monster Ltd
