Hhreflang been setup correctly?
-
Hi guys,
We recently setup US hreflang tags across a site. According to Deep Crawl it seems the tags are working.
http://s3.postimg.org/5b8rzq9r6/screenshot_1494.jpg
However when i test it out with http://flang.dejanseo.com.au/
I seem to be getting no language, region and under notes it saids "Reciprocal not found" (does anyone know what this means?)

Any ideas?
Cheers

Hi Chris,
You have 2 issues here:
1. It doesn't make sense to put the us version on http://www.camilla.com.au/us/ - .com.au is an Australian domain extension and therefore geo targeted by default to Australia. If you want to have a us version you'll have to put it on a generic domain extension (.com / .net / .org / etc geo targeted in search console to the us) or use the .us extension
2. Hreflang is on page level - not on domain level - on all pages of your site you put the hreflang pointing to the "us homepage". What you should do is for each page on your site (both us & au version) you will have to put at least two hreflang tags:
Example http://www.camilla.com.au/collection/my-wandering-heart-resort-15 & http://www.camilla.com.au/us/collection/my-wandering-heart-resort-15
On both pages put:
<link rel="alternate" href="http: www.camilla.com.au="" collection="" my-wandering-heart-resort-15" hreflang="en-au"></link rel="alternate" href="http:>
If you want to have one version as default - then also add
(if it's the us version you want as default - check http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.be/2013/04/x-default-hreflang-for-international-pages.html)
The message "reciprocal not found" indicates that you only put the hreflang to the us version - and that on the us version there is no hreflang link to the au version.
You can scan all the content on Moz on hreflang - but useful links are:
https://moz.com/blog/hreflang-behaviour-insights http://www.aleydasolis.com/en/international-seo-tools/hreflang-tags-generator/ https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/189077?hl=enDirk

Yes, there is error. I used tool described here:
https://moz.com/blog/open-source-library-tool-check-hreflang
And here is result:
http://hreflang.ninja/check/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.camilla.com.au%2Fus%2Fshop%2Fjust-in.htmlBut alternate page there:
http://www.camilla.com.au/us/
Doesn't link back /us/shop/just-in.htmlAnd this is first problem. Second problem is that /us/ page doesn't like en_us. I'm not sure why? And third is missing x-default hreflang.
In case of doubt please check both examples:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.earth&hl=en
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.earth
and read everything in Moz about hreflang.

Did We Implement Structured Data Correctly?
Our designer/developer recently implemented structured data on our pages. I'm trying to become more educated on how it works since I'm the SEO marketing specialist on the team and the one that writes and publishes the majority of our content. I'm aware it's extremely important and needs to be done, I just don't know how to do it yet. The developer was on our team for over a year, we recently let him go. Now, I'm going through all the pages to make sure it's done correctly. I'm using the structured data testing tool to look at the pages and have been playing with the structured data markup helper. I would REALLY appreciate it if one of my fellow MOZ fans & family can help me determine if it's done correctly. We do not currently have any schema plugs installed that I know of. So I'm not sure how he implemented the Schema code. I would like to know what I need to do moving forward to the additional content we publish as well as what to do to correctly implement Schema if not already. When I manually look at one of our FAQ pages I see multiple schema data formats detected... I'm not sure if we're supposed to have multiple or just one----> https://www.screencast.com/t/TjHphL7jsI I also noticed in the Question schema data for that same page... the accepted answer is empty. I would image that should have the short version of the answer to the question in it?--->https://www.screencast.com/t/e6ppXkhXd7QS Here's a screenshot of our structured data info from Google search console---> https://www.screencast.com/t/KHj4BGgdrZ4m HELP please! I want that users who go to google.es and search in English get our example.com site and others who search in Spanish on google.es get the Spanish site. Should the tags be like this: Or should we also have this tag aswell to specify? Otherwise we might only show the es.domain even for english queris? :

Google cache is for a 3rd parties site for HTTP version and correct for HTTPS
If I search Google for my cache I get the following: cache:http://www.saucydates.com -> Returns the cache of netball.org (HTTPS page with Plesk default page) cache:https://www.saucydates.com -> Displays the correct page Prior to this my http cache was the Central Bank of Afghanistan. For most searches at present my index page is not returned and when it is, it’s the Net Ball Plesk page. This is, of course hurting my search traffic considerably. ** I have tried many things, here is the current list:** If I fetch as Google in webmaster tools the HTTPS fetch and render is correct. If I fetch the HTTP version I get a redirect (which is correct as I have a 301 HTTP to HTTPS redirect). If I turn off HTTPS on my server and remove the redirect the fetch and render for HTTP version is correct. The 301 redirect is controlled with the 301 Safe redirect option in Plesk 12.x The SSL cert is valid and with COMODO I have ensured the IP address (which is shared with a few other domains that form my sites network / functions) has a default site I have placed a site on my PTR record and ensured the HTTPS version goes back to HTTP as it doesn’t need SSL I have checked my site in Waybackwhen for 1 year and there are no hacked redirects I have checked the Netball site in Waybackwhen for 1 year, mid last year there is an odd firewall alert page. If you check the cache for the https version of the netball site you get another sites default plesk page. This happened at the same time I implemented SSL Points 6 and 7 have been done to stop the server showing a Plesk Default page as I think this could be the issue (duplicate content) ** Ideas:** Is this a 302 redirect hi-jack? Is this a Google bug? Is this an issue with duplicate content as both servers can have a default Plesk page (like millions of others!) A network of 3 sites mixed up that have plesk could be a clue? Over to the experts at MOZ, can you help? Thanks, David

How can I get Bing to index my subdomain correctly?
Hi guys, My website exists on a subdomain (i.e. https://website.subdomain.com) and is being indexed correctly on all search engines except Bing and Duck Duck Go, which list 'https://www.website.subdomain.com'. Unfortunately my subdomain isn't configured for www (the domain is out of my control), so searchers are seeing a server error when clicking on my homepage in the SERPs. I have verified the site successfully in Bing Webmaster Tools, but it still shows up incorrectly. Does anyone have any advice on how I could fix this issue? Thank you!

How to determine the correct number of ad units post-Panda
What guidelines are you using to determine the correct number of ad units? Also is it number of units per page or the size of the ads (visually)? Any additional guidance or links you can point me to regarding ads in a post-Panda world would be helpful.
