Greek language distinctiveness
-
Hello,
i am facing the below problem and want your help. I will give an example for you to understand. The problem with the Greek language is that in or words we have tones above a letter in the most words. I will present now which the problem is. When you want to write dissertation the right way is "πτυχιακές εργασίες" and this is the most important service we offer the problem is that people are searching using the same keyword but without the tones like : "πτυχιακες εργασιες" . If you see monthly searches in keyword planner the difference in volume is huge. Also in rankings for the first one i am on place 2 but for the second one i am on place 3. The problem is that i cannot have the grammatically wrong phrase in my page title and also in my content so what should i do? The same problem is almost on all keywords where people are searching without a tone or searching the same phrase using English characters like "ptyxiakes ergasies". I have fully analyzed the problem.
Please give a hand
thanks in advance

I think you're doing the right thing by optimizing for the grammatically correct version of the phrase. Google undoubtedly considers the phase without tones a semantic equivalent. If I were you, I'd focus instead on earning more and more authoritative links to the page so I have a better chance of outranking the ones that are optimized for the term without proper tones. If you can, try to get links with link text that excludes the tones.

Linking to a Resource from a multi-language Page
I have a multi-language page where the content is available in several versions (translated). I want to link to a resource that is only available in one English. Is it a good idea to link to this resource from all language versions or should I better include the link only in the English version of my page? In the first scenario for example a Spanisch and a German language version would link to a page in English. Is this ok or could it be considered spam?

Google didn't show my correct language-version homepage.
I have a website which serves two languages - English and Chinese. My English homepage can be indexed by Google. But when I search the brand term in English, Google returns my Chinese homepage. I already added the hreflang attributes. And I'm working on building the XML sitemap for three languages. What other things I can work on to fix the issue? Thanks!

Thoughts on different base URLs for different website language?
Hello mozzers, Currently in the process of setting up a new website for a new entity. I was wondering what your thoughts were on using different base urls for different languages. Example: ABCgroup.com -> English
Technical SEO | | yacpro13
groupeABC.com -> French I've never done this before; I've been one to prefer using a subfolder structure. However, for this case, the expected visitors are truly split between 2 languages, and therefore having a base url in the visitor's language is appealing. Would this approach be detrimental if all pages have a proper hreflang tag? Thanks!0 -
Hreflang for multple countries but single language
I'm working on a site that has implemented hreflang. The site is all in English but has slight differences and breaks down to separate domains, so example.co.uk example.eu example.com the hreflang implementation targets specific countries per domain. This was tested using http://flang.dejanseo.com.au but Webmaster Tools has thrown up errors. For example, **URLs for your site and alternative URLs in 'en_GB' that do not have return tags. **But every page refers back.Any ideas what's going wrong?

Doctype language declaration problem
Hello,
Technical SEO | | Silviu
I have a problem with an SEM Rush warning on a website audit, for www.enjoyprepaid.com. It tells me "5852 pages are lacking language declaration", but I don't understand what it means and how to actually fix this problem. Also I run a W3 validator and have a doctype and language problem but again don't understand what they mean and how to fix them https://validator.w3.org/nu/?doc=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.enjoyprepaid.com%2FAfghanistan-calling-cards-2.html0 -
