WordPress Rankings ?
-
It looks for me that WordPress sites get to rank better for some reason ... I dont know wil you will agree with this one with me or not.
The question is... do they hold their rankings for the certain keyword with a time? or they lose them as fast as they get them?
Shouldn't be content rank the same across all platforms? Content is a content and it dosent matter how it's presented? is it the case with google?
For example: Create Wordpress site for only 3 products, provide good content for those 3 products... and sell them with some of shopping cart plugins (any recommendations on the plugin?)
Will I get rankings faster and keep them?

The only thing that possibly helps with Wordpress is that it does come with plugins that you have to install by the way that automatically updates your sitemap to Google. I know a sitemap is not any significant help in ranking but it prods Google to tell them "Hi look a new page" but again as the previous posters mention this is usually just a receny bump.
There are lots of other 'SEO' (deliberate italics here that make life easier for titles and descriptions. But as far as Googel cares your site is just text and if you make it attractive they will/may come back more often.

Absolutely not.

So does anyone believe that telling Google within the coding of the site that you are using the wordpress platform hurts your site for long term?
-
I think that what wordpress have to offers best is how quick your content get indexed with it. Correctly using the ping system it has built in I normally got any page I published indexed on Google before 24 hours after the publishing for new sites, and almost instantly with old sites, anyway, its nothing that you could get done by yourself but with considerable more work.
So basically i think it just automate some hard work process leaving you to do what really matters for SEO.
-
so what you saying content is a content... if it's good it ranks as it's deserves. Dosent matter how you present it.
-
Rankings in the long run will depend upon the quality, strength and optimization of your website.
Wordpress pages rank where they deserve in the long run. Don't expect magic from any content management system. Rankings are earned.
-
So eCommerce website shouldn't be based on wordpress because it wont rank good in search engines in a long run term...
seomoz.org probably runs on the custom software?

Google often gives new pages produced by any method a small boost in the rankings. Then those pages slip down to where they properly should rank.
I don't think that WordPress will be a magic bullet for product pages - if it was everybody would be using it. I would have millions of pages in the SERPs.
If you have a very strong blog (WordPress or other) that posts a stready stream of newsy content. Google will often give new posts a very surprising ranking for a very brief period of time - one to three days - then they fall down to where they deserve. I believe that this is some combination of fresh content from a trusted source in a SERP that is very time sensitive.

Indexing but Not Ranking
Hello, I have noticed this with some articles. Here is an example:
Content Development | | SneakerFiles
http://www.sneakerfiles.com/air-jordan-11-low-closing-ceremony-release-date/ For the term "Air Jordan 11 Low Closing Ceremony" I do not show up on the first 3 pages of Google even though the website has a back link to this particular page (maybe more). It's almost like some pages just disappear. Also I will rank very high (page 1) for a sneaker that is going to release for months then all of a sudden, about a week from the release, I disappear entirely. Not sure why this is (other in my field also rank on page 1 but stay). The site has been around for just about 10 years now with a large amount of backlinks (I don't go out and try to obtain backlinks unless it's something exclusive to share with others). Any help would be greatly appreciated.0 -
How do I fix a broken link to a product category page in wordpress?
We are building a new site currently at http://67.222.109.48/~cheapnan/ I started doing some SEO after the developer I hired failed to do it even though it was in the agreement. I did our old site so I should be able to do this but I am new to wordpress. Now when i go to the products tab at the top of the page the first 2 have broken links, I checked the rest and there are 3 total that I need to fix. I am unsure how to access the navigation so I can fix the links. Please tell me where to look.

Anyone good at ranking on Yahoo?
I don't get Yahoo or Bing these days! I wrote a story "Did David Wineland and Serge Haroche Steal Idea For The Nobel Physics Prize?" It is a unique story, sourced from a prince. It is referenced on many other sites. It has had about 115,000 pageviews so far. most of those people read 2 or 3 pages. Do Yahoo or Bing list my story? No. They list all the referencing sites, they even list unrelated stories on my site that show that headline in the "top ten stories of the day" widget, but not the story itself. It has about 1250 shares. What am I doing wrong? http://buff.ly/WXso4P Is it page structure?

I have created 2 blogs for a client as they have 2 domains (1 for their core business, and 1 for a product). I want to use the same content on both blogs. What is the best way to set this up so there are no ranking or duplicate content issues?
We are pushing SEO for only one of the domains, therefore I would like one to be dominant. We will be sending the blog post via email to their database, therefore each blog needs to have the same content. Thank you!

Meta Title and Description Placement in Wordpress
I noticed in wordpress code that the <title>and <description> are not at the top of the code and rather located a ways down the code and not displayed how previous sites used to be.</p> <p>Does this still matter for SEO.</p> <p>I thought it should have been,</p> <div id="syn_row5" class="SYN_TXT"><span class="HTML_TXT"><span class="HTML_TAG"><<span class="HTML_ELM">title</span>></span><span class="HTML_TAG"></<span class="HTML_ELM">title</span>></span></span></div> <div class="SYN_ROW"> <div id="syn_row6" class="SYN_TXT"><span class="HTML_TXT"><span class="HTML_TAG"><<span class="HTML_ELM">meta</span> <span class="HTML_ATR">name</span>=<span class="HTML_VAL">"Description"</span> <span class="HTML_ATR">content</span>=<span class="HTML_VAL">""</span> /></span></span></div> <div class="SYN_TXT"><span class="HTML_TXT"><span class="HTML_TAG"> <div id="syn_row6" class="SYN_TXT"><span class="HTML_TXT"><span class="HTML_TAG"><<span class="HTML_ELM">meta</span> <span class="HTML_ATR">name</span>=<span class="HTML_VAL">"Keywords"</span> <span class="HTML_ATR">content</span>=<span class="HTML_VAL">""</span> /> (if still needed ?)</span></span></div> <div class="SYN_TXT"><span class="HTML_TXT"><span class="HTML_TAG"><span class="HTML_TXT"><span class="HTML_TAG"> </span></span></span></span></div> <div class="SYN_TXT"><span class="HTML_TXT"><span class="HTML_TAG"><span class="HTML_TXT"><span class="HTML_TAG"><span class="HTML_TXT"><span class="HTML_TAG">Is there a way to do this in Wordpress? Are you sure moving a wordpress blog to a main website is a good idea?
Sorry to ask this question again but I left out some background info...... My blog sits at www.gardenbeet.wordpress.com I have been using the blog as my main linking page for my main website at www.gardenbeet.com - the blog links to relevant sites in both blog articles and on the side of the blog. The blog links to industry websites that in turn link to my main website at www.gardenbeet.com. If I was to move the wordpress blog to my own domain will my mainwebsite loose its strength. Will all those blog links pour my link juice out of my website? Will the current three way links become two way links and thereby lesson their linking importance? Is the previous recommendation (combine the blog and the main website) still the best course of action? Should I keep the two sites or perhaps close entries on the existing blog and start another on my own domain? thanks for your time AGAIN
