Title tag question
-
Hi,
If I wanted to rank for 'cheap football boots' and 'football boots' which tag would be the best option:
1. Cheap Football Boots (notice both keywords im targeting are included)
2. Cheap Football Boots, Football Boots (both keywords separate)
and the keywords sit on an EMD (cheapfootballboots.co.uk)
Cheers

Online Football Boot Store, Buying Football Boots, something of that nature that would imply buying. I like using keywords that don't necessarily have the product in them, but target the lifestyle of the shopper. Good luck on your Quest!

I like these... they present the keyword and then a value proposition.

i am not sure about how much juice you can get with the anchor text's pointing to same word.
as i read some where that it is better to have different pages and different keywords linking to your site to get max.. i mean with the cheap football boots and football boots should lead to different pages in your domain..
correct me if i am wrong

Thanks for the replies.
One other thing I thought about as well, was when link building if the anchor text was 'cheap football boots' would this benefit both terms at the same time? basically kill to birds with one stone or would mixing it up a bit with some 'cheap football boots' and some 'football boots'.
-
may be you can try
Cheap Football Boots with one day free shipping
or
Cheap Football Boots sale for children
as Heather mentioned if you are targeting local clients in your area add your location..
-
Surely first one is better. If you look at the second one than football boot makes up nearly 50% of the the text which is close to keyword stuffing. One other option could be to use like cheap football boots - football boots to indicate google that those are two totally different querries you are targeting, but I would defintely use the first one only. In addition you have both words in your domaini as well.
-
Hi there
I don't think it's necessary to repeat 'football boots' as it could look a bit spammy, so I'd go with option 1, but then expand a little, taking it up to 60 characters or so.
For example: add in your location if you have a bricks and mortar shop and want to target local searches, or perhaps think seasonal and add 'Christmas deals', 'back to school', etc.
Hope that helps
Heather

Page Hierarchy Question
I understand the basic concept of page hierarchy, i.e. parent and child pages. My question is: Should the home page be the parent of all 2nd-level pages? Can/should there only be one top-level page, the home page? In other words, is this: site.com/homesite.com/home/products site.com/home/products/widgetsite.com/home/aboutsite.com/home/contactbetter than this:site.com/homesite.com/products site.com/products/widgetsite.com/aboutsite.com/contactThanks for your opinion!

Should we add our company's name in page title tag or not?
We have been adding our company (Townscript) name in all the page titles. For example, in an event page of Lucknow Conclave: www.townscript.com/lucknowconclave the page title is Lucknow Conclave | Alexis Society | Townscript I read somewhere that it's not necessary to put your company's name in the title tag. Is it right? Please help!

Title tag length
Hi, I am fairly new to SEO and have just noticed the end of my title text has been cut off by Google in the serps results. Everything i have read tells me titles should be maximum of 70 characters, however, Google is only displaying 54. See below Security systems | wireless | battery powered | Police... Nobody else on the page is showing more than 54 characters. Am i missing something obvious? Any and all help gratefully appreciated. Thanks Si

Google pulling in wrong title tag!
Has anyone else seen their title tag different in the SERPS to what you have called it in the <title>?? </p> <p>I work for MITIE and when you type in "facilities management" it shows our title tag as "<a style="font-weight: bold;" href="http://www.mitie.com/services/strategic-outsourcing/integrated-facilities-management">Integrated <em>facilities management</em> - Mitie</a>" and it should be "<span>MITIE | Facilities management - Facilities management companies - Facility management UK" </span></p> <p><span>The only thing I can think of is that it's picking it from the H1 on the page but why it'd do that! The page is here www.mitie.com/services/strategic-outsourcing/integrated-facilities-management</span></p> <p><span>Any ideas?</span></p></title>

Internal Linking Question(s)
Is it unwise to link internally to a page more than once on the homepage. I am reading that it is considered spammy. I am also reading that it passes PR twice to the internal page instead of just once... Which is it? Is there a way to stop passing PR to the "contact us" page. I watched an older video that Matt Cutts suggested a nofollow. Now I read that this strategy is a no no? Which is it? Thanks! 🙂

Things to put in your page Title
Hello! I have a wordpress based blog/website and I was wondering what were the most important things to put in my title. I'm a wedding photographer. I think the location of the shoot is important and the fact that it's wedding photography, but is it important to try and put my company name (Celynnen Photography) in it too?! It's very hard to keep the titles short! Ioan
