(not provided) in GA
-
Hello,
Google is displaying (not provided) for signed in users. Is there any workaround for this ? Any advanced segment by which can know more about such traffic ?
-
Just a quick question before I dive into this: does it still work as of almost 2014?
-
Hi,
The filter is working fine and (not provided ) is not being displayed now. Awesome !
Thanks a lot James for the link.
-
Yes I have seen an increase too by around 13 times (Oct vs Nov) on data for some accounts I work on not provided, so this GA hack is a nice little trick.
-
Thanks James. I have applied the filter and will see how it goes. After a couple of hours ( as the post says ) or tomorrow, i will be sharing the results right here.
-
Hadn't seen that, have a thumbs up
Is anybody actually seeing a large chunk of traffic coming in with not provided though?
I'm around 0.9% - 1% overall and 1.4% - 1.5% for English only sites.

The best one I have seen to date is from this blog:

Yet it does come with warnings and potential data loss.

GA 4 Question
What differences are you typically seeing in Google Analytics 4 compared to UA? For one site I have, UA says there were 2,342 new users. GA4 says there were 1,899 new users for the same time period. Does that seem like a normal amount of difference between the two platforms?

Disabling Hubspot AMP plugin - impact on GA
Hello, all!
Reporting & Analytics | | SimpleSearch
What impact have you seen if you've used the Hubspot AMP plugin and then disabled it?
We saw a big jump in sessions, which is weird because GA was tracking AMP pages. I'm trying to wrap my head around why this is happening but my brain isn't working 🙂0 -
Unsolved URL Crawl Reports providing drastic differences: Is there something wrong?
A bit at a loss here. I ran a URL crawl report at the end of January on a website( https://www.welchforbes.com/ ). There were no major critical issues at the time. No updates were made on the website (that I'm aware of), but after running another crawl on March 14, the report was short about 90 pages on the site and suddenly had a ton of 403 errors. I ran a crawl again on March 15 to check if there was perhaps a discrepancy, and the report crawled even fewer pages and had completely different results again. Is there a reason the results are differing from report to report? Is there something about the reports that I'm not understanding or is there a serious issue within the website that needs to be addressed? Jan. 28 results:

If website users don't accept GDPR cookie consent, does that prevent GA-GTM from tracking pageviews and any traffic from that user that would cause significant traffic decreases?
I've been doing a lot research on GDPR impact and implementation with GTM-GA for clients, but it's been 12 months since GDPR has gone live I haven't found anything on how GA traffic has been impacted if users don't accept cookie consent. However, I'm personally seeing GA accounts taking huge losses in traffic since implementing GDPR cookie solutions (because GTM/GA tags aren't firing until cookies are accepted). Is it common for websites to see significant decreases in traffic due to too many users not accepting cookie consent? Are there alternative solutions to avoid traffic loss like that and still maintain GDPR compliance? It seems to me that the industry underestimated how many people won't accept cookie consent. Most of the documentation and articles around GDPR's start (May 2018) didn't foresee or cover that aspect properly, everything seems to be technically focused with the assumption that if implemented properly most people would accept cookie consent, but I'm personally not seeing that trend and it's destroying GA data (lost traffic, minimal source attribution, inaccurate behavior data, etc). Thanks.

Creating Goals in GA
Hi I don't know if the below can be done, and I can't seem to find an answer anywhere. Ideally I want to capture the event of registering for an account. Ultimately I want to know which products, pages etc drive customer registrations but which do not lead to a purchase (Registered Not Bought). Does anyone know if this is possible? Thanks Andy

GA not recording visitors PART 2
Further to my question yesterday where all data for Wednesday 31st July 2013 was not showing - the data did reappear yesterday afternoon. But today, all data for yesterday seems odd - across all my projects visitor numbers appear to be around 40% down on the norm. Sales were normal, so I wonder if this is another glitch - anyone else seeing strange stats in GA for yesterday?
