Is using a tool such as My Blog Guest worth it?
-
I saw the post
http://www.seomoz.org/blog/4-valuable-link-building-services
and saw that MyBlogGuest seems like a good link building service, so I signed up. It really is confusing though, it almost makes me think I have to install WP Blogs on my sites which primarily run in Joomla, so linking directly to the blog is not an option.
Okay, fine, so I'll just skip the part about putting in offers on other people's posts. I really signed up for the link building part of it anyways.
So, now, I just write content in the site-used article generator? Then, go in and offer it manually to people? Doesn't really strike me as some super powerful method of linkbuilding, but there's a good chance I'm missing something.
If this is the case, I'd assume I'd have to write content that is relevant to the site that I am trying to build links for, and then place links back to that site, so basically I want my posts on competitors sites and that will help out with backlinks and authority?
It's really confusing. I just want to have my content writer write good content and get links from it, and this method just confuses me. I'd appreciate any insight from anyone who has used that service or can recommend something easier or better.

Thank you Ann. Didn't expect to get a response from you personally, but what a nice touch. Your detailed response really cleared some things up for me.
I am hiring a content writer for my blog posts, and I will make sure he goes off of the checklist. I am hoping that this works out well, and now I feel I have a more clear understanding of your site's functionality. Thank you for your quick response

Hey Ryan, let's try to figure everything out!
1. We are welcome blogs on any platforms. However we only support DIRECT post (sending guest articles directly to blogs) for Wordpress. Don't worry, that's an optional feature. Just ignore it if you don't have a Wordpress blog. You can still make offers in the gallery (provided you have verified your blog)
2. "So, now, I just write content in the site-used article generator?"
Generator? Not sure what you mean, but just in case: we allow only well-written authentical and useful content.
- Here's how guest blogging generally works
- Here are other members' review for you to know how people use the platform
3. To start off, you may want to browse PRIVATE forum to read about the rules, quality standards, other members' experiences, etc. Just look it over
4. Now, feel free to write a good article and try submitting it to the gallery.
- "so basically I want my posts on competitors sites and that will help out with backlinks and authority?"
There's no actual strict way to use guest blogging for links. If you don't want to write for competing sites, brainstorm topics in neighboring niches.
Lastly, if you need more help, examples of good guest articles, actual guest post ideas on your topics, etc - I can always be reached via email (I am going to email you right away as well)

Blog post outreach for backlinks
Hi all, My understanding of obtaining backlinks by way of blogpost outreach is that it's best to include several outbound links to related high domain websites within blog post copy (as well as a link to the website you're marketing, obviously) such as this post https://www.scoopearth.com/why-should-you-use-royalty-free-music-for-youtube-videos/ or this one https://small-bizsense.com/how-to-create-quality-content-for-your-business/. However, I've recently read a few articles that suggest that from a human perspective only having one clear link in the copy, such as this post https://www.clichemag.com/entertainment/movies/the-benefits-of-royalty-free-cinematic-music-for-your-videos/, increases the chance of the reader visiting the site in question. I guess the thinking is that if there's only one link to be clicked on it increases the chances of click-thru, as opposed to the reader possibly clicking on another external link that's only there because of current SEO advice. So is it best to follow SEO guidelines and include several outbound links within guest blog posts, or is it better to only have the one link to your client's site (to focus the readers attention on it)?

Guest Posting Offer
Our company gets pitched on linking to other websites nearly constantly. Recently, we received an offer to guest post on several sites managed by the same person. These sites aren't really relevant to our website, so my instinct is that we should ignore the offer. However, I would really like more backlinks and maybe I shouldn't turn away this offer.

Blog Networks
We have found a couple of blogs that would be good for some unique content but I suspect they may be part of a network. Apart from checking the IP and for duplicate content of them both, are there any other signs that they may be part of a network?

Which directories to use?
I've recently has a conversation with a colleague regarding which directories to use when link building. In her opinion we should use only the ones that are relevant and nothing else. For example if you're working on a travel website, you should only submit either to travel directories or local directories (based on the business location). In my opinion yes we should submit to these directories but then you'll reach a limit and then you need to submit to general directories that have the "travel" category, even if the business is in NY and the directory is in India, as long as it is a good directory and has the relevant category. What is your opinion about this?

What impact do no follow links in blog comments have if any?
Hi I think we all agree that social network sites such as pintrest/instagram/twitter are all now no follow however I believe there is benefit in having them.... So I wondered if anyone had been experimenting with commenting on blogs which had no follow attributes and if there was any benefit in terms of improving your rankings?

Blog commenting
Is this still a good way of getting backlinks? I do not plan on making it my only method. Most of my backlinking is done through content creation, press releases, and guest blogging. But looking for some variety in there that can be done quicker. Is it even worth the time or are the links too spammy now? If I did I would actually hand build the links and comment to the article.
