One keyword per page?
-
I have a health insurance lead gen domain.
One of the keywords I want to rank for are "student health insurance".
If I have a related keyword like "aetna student health insurance", is it better to include that keyword and backlinks with that anchor text to my "student health insurance" page or do a separate page for that keyword?
-
In a lot of cases I optimize the same page for several related keywords - like in your case.
The only thing I follow is to place a tier one keyword and tier two, three related keywords and know/ be sure which one is which so the plan is crisp and clear.
I usually optimize more for the main keyword and I use most of the on-page optimization for this particular keyword. I optimize tier two and three on the same page without cutting any modules from the main one (using some h2,h3 maybe and to be sure the page has a good % of the main keyword first and then the second and third tier ones.)
The anchor text for links that will point to this page will vary and I think that is a good thing - a natural thing and it will help overall including your link diversity.
It's better to have more anchor text with the links for your page and not only "student health insurance" as anchor text.
Overall is a natural thing to rank for more then one keyword especially for long tail variations.
However, that's just my opinion. I do that a lot in my optimization sessions and the results so far based on this strategy are good.
Hope it helps.

Generally, it's nice to have one page per keyword, as it's the best way in my opinion. However, you can easily target multiple terms on one page using link building and anchor text!
I would say another page never hurts, just write some outstanding content for it and you're good to go!

Can I 301 re-direct a page to regain the authority from a penguin penalized page
I built way too many anchor text links to an internal page and was penalized for the associated keyword. However, I do rank on that page for less significant keywords that I didn't build anchor text links for, though not super high. Subsequently, I've found that the sites that rank highly for the keyword that I was looking to rank for are high domain authority with almost no links built to those pages. Can I 301 re-direct that URL to my homepage, where I'm not trying to rank for that term, to make use of that authority of the links I've built to that page and start over on the page that I was hit by penguin on? This appears to make sense to me as my pages that have been hit are specifically for the terms that I have gone overboard on anchor text links. Terms that I haven't built too many anchor text links to still rank on those pages.

One keyword has dropped, everything else is ok, why?
Ok so this is what I got, 1 page ranks for about 5 different terms, all closely matching for example: Flower Pots, Flower Pot, Cheap Flower Pots, Buy Flower Pots. Flower Pot and Flower Pots are on page 2. Flower Pot stays where it is BUT Flower Pots drops out the rankings completely after being there for years. Could a blast of exact match anchor text at the term Flower Pots cause this? I would have thought the page would have been zapped rather then just one keyword. Any ideas?

Posts and Page linking
Can I link from the post to page? I read on semoz that in order to avoid crazy linking I should not link from a post everywhere. Is it ok to link from some post which is in a category to a page?

Pagerank 0 vs Page Authority 53....?
I sometimes see sites with PageRank 0 but Page Authority 50+. For instance http://auto.beginthier.nl/: PageAuthority = 53

mozRank = 4,64
mozTrust = 5,69
Root domain links = 42
PageRank = 0 How should i interpret these stats? If or instance i'm optimizing for a car related website (a site about: car parts, car insurrance, classic cars), would these be a good place or a bad place to get links from (ignoring the benefits of direct traffic)? PA = 53 (very good) Vs. PR = 0 (very bad)?0 -
When searching for high quality links, in a niche area such as real estate, does page rank factor into a search or is page / domain authority the most important factor?
After having employed many different methods for finding good link partners I am now finding it more difficult to reach out and identify good quality links for a niche area such as real estate. Does page rank factor into the search much or is it better to focus on page / domain authority as a major factor?

Natural Anchor Text distribution for brand = main keyword
Dear folks, I will start link building for my all new site www.buy-hosting.net and would greatly appreciate your opinion about some questions: 1.) How many links would you in my place seed per day? I plan to start with directory links and sincere, useful contributions in blogs and forums, with my URL in the signiture. 2.) Natural anchor text distribution:

My brand Buy-Hosting.net ist the same as my main targeted keywords "Buy Hosting". However, I also want to have a natural looking link profile, so I would seed links like "Click here" or "Windows Hosting" or "Webhosting" as well. How would you distribute die Anchor Text Precentage ?
E.g. (60% Buy Hosting - 10% Windows Hosting - 10% Click here - 10% Joomla Hosting - 10% Hosting Reviews)? Does that make sense or is that already spammy? 3.) How many No-Follow links would you seed (in %)?
4.) How many links (in %) would you seed to subpages, instead of the main page? Are there larger margins for Keywords, that eqal the Domain/Brand Name, without being conted as spam? Is there a good article about the natural distribution of anchor texts? Your input is greatly appreciated and thoroughly considered.
Thank you and kind regards0
