Transpose H1 and H2 Headline
-
Hi SeoZ
Quick question, is it a problem if the H2 Element comes after the H1 Element? Also does Google recoginise it if i make the h2 font bigger than the h1?
For example:
HTML:
Awesome Headline bla bla bla
Keyword1 Keyword 2
Css:
h2 {font-size: 32px;}
h1 {font-size: 28px;}Thank you, Alex

Thank you algri.
I wouldn't do that.
I think I did something like that a long time ago, but "natural" is a much better thing to do now.
That is what google might call "doing something for the search engines,"
rather than "doing something for your readers."
If your page is really about that keyword, then I believe you would be better off getting that keyword into your page headline, which would be in the H1.
What you are doing is manipulating the power of the H1 to achieve your SEO goal, whereas you should be doing it for your reader, but structuring it so it works for the search engine as well.
I would change what you have.
-
No it's because of the Headline.
Headline that the Users read and like
My Keyword, which is not too interesting for the user...
Your understand?

Having H1 after H2 seems a little strange.
Are you doing that for programming purposes?
Is the H1 or the H2 the same as Title ?
It would seem more "natural" to have H1 first , followed by H2
-
I think it depends on the type of content. Natural order - that from books, newspapers etc.. is from main title to subtitle, and in my opinion it is a best solution and natural direction of crawling a site. Good example are product sheets e.g. Canon Germany site  Canon Eos 1D X.
You can check it using seoMOZ On-Page Report Card, it gives you feedback about content arrangement and structure.
If you have specific content like adds you can use different structure on purpose.

Cool, thanks. What about the fact that the H2 Element comes after the H1 Element in the HTML-Code?
-
Hi,
In my opinion font size doesn's effect on SEO. So
is more important than
.
You can find topic in google forums - one of them: font size

H1 and H2 copy
Does the targeted keyword need to be embedded in a longer phrase for the H1 and H2 or is it better to have the keyword by itself?

How to have H1 keywords on EVERY Page but not destroy user experience for holiday rental site
Hi all, as a Newbie getting my holiday home rental site up & running, I just cannot find a clear answer to this after many hours research. Moz & everyone else advises I need to optimise by ensuring my keywords are in my H1s, that H1s need to be on every page, more than 20 characters, but still unique, relevant, a statement of the content, appealing to users & not keyword stuffed. How can I include my keywords ("holiday home tasmania" & "tasmania holiday rentals") in the heading on EVERY page & still make every heading unique, relevant & not keyword stuffed? I only have 10 pages Home / The Space / Amenities / Location / About / Guide / House Rules / Reviews / Contact & they by nature need to be information based, not designed like a more creative Blog (which I will add later). Eg -Â my Amenities page which is a quick reference list so people can easily see inclusions & find if we have features they need/want. It seems really awkward & not in keeping with the chic, designer image I am trying to project to have "Amenities At Your Holiday Home Tasmania", "Three Beaches Tasmania Holiday Rental Location", "About This Beach Holiday Home Tasmania", "Your Guide To The Best Of Your Holiday Accommodation's Local Area", House Rules Of Your Chic Holiday Home Tasmania", "It's Easy To Contact Your Next Tasmania Holiday Rental" Much of the information out there including Moz's seems to be oriented towards blogs where there is a lot more creative freedom for an expressive H1, rather than a service business in a competitive space where people need to access facts & features quickly in order to make a buying decision & are very quickly going to notice & be irritated by the use of similar sounding phrases in every headline AND sprinkled throughout the page content. Many thanks, Cherie - Australia

How to position and structure H1 and H2 on a page
Quick Question: We have been working on a website for an hotel and we are now facing an issue regarding how to position the H1 and H2 on each page: Since the Client has expressed the desire to have the title of the page mentioned right above the textWould it make sense to have the title of the page as H1 and have more descriptive H2 right below it? Ex: H1--> Accommodation H2--> Page Description Thanks,

SEO can id and class be used in H1?
Can ID and class be used in my H1 tag. I realize best case would be to change it, but it's going to require a change order from the ecommerce company to fix their sloppy code. Will this hurt seo? Example:

Is there benefit to having longer article headlines?
I am seeing a trend in digital publishing on sites like HuffPo and others where they are increasing the length of article headlines to 3-4 rows of large type, often containing multiple sentences. Other publishers like CNN.com still have shorter headlines and character counts. Perhaps this is just a design aesthetic, but I am curious if there is any SEO value to having longer headlines assuming you are able to fit your targeted keywords/terms and message in something shorter?
