Duplicate Page Content & Rel-Canonicals

The SEO Moz duplicate page content tool lists the following URL's as having duplicate content:
http://www.savvyboater.com/1988-newer-8-tooth-15-hp-honda-outboard-props.aspx
http://www.savvyboater.com/1988-newer-8-tooth-15-hp-honda-outboard-props.aspx?sort=PriceAsc&pi=2
The second URL is the price sorter/second page of the category and contains the following rel-canonical:

http://www.savvyboater.com/1988-newer-8-tooth-15-hp-honda-outboard-props.aspx">
Are we using the rel-canonical correctly in this case? If so, why does it continue to show up as duplicate content in our SEO Moz report? There are over 1,000 URLS listed in the report with the exact same issue.

You should use a robots.txt file and disallow "sort" parameters.
Such as:
Disallow: /*sort=

Yes, your canonical usage is correct, though you should also consider using a meta robots tag with "noindex" so your filtered pages don't show in the search results.

Hello, For one of our sites, 19 keywords are ranking on Home page. But, the home page doesn't have content with those keywords. I am afraid that with Google updates, we will eventually lose all the ranking position for these keywords. Should we ask the client to create blog around those keywords or create separate pages ? Does a "Read More" button to open up the full content affect SEO?
As we've been refining our metrics for gauging whether or not a blog is effective -- if people are engaging with it -- one of the strategies we've seen (e.g. NYT, WaPo, Yahoo!) is "Read More." I've read a few articles with some who advocate using it and others who discourage it. Does anyone have any history adding "Read More" to their content and the effect it had?

Add a Search box (content hub) for my website?
Hello We would like to introduce a search area in our website, to help our users to find all information regarding a specific topic (landing pages, infographics, blogs, videos, etc...). Before we decide to build everything internally, we were wondering if there is any widget or plugging to make this in a smooth way and that works fine. I have also seen that Google offers a custom search option to make this happens. I would really appreciate advice about what to do regarding this topic: Is there any company that offers a really good solution for this? Is worth to use Google custom search option? Or the best option is build it internally? PS: I have seen that there are many plugins for wordpress, but our site is not a wordpress blog. Just to clarify. Many thanks for your help 🙂

One Page Website Blog Content Question
Hi guys, I'm new to the art of SEO and am learning every day from all the fantastic content here, I have a question that I can't find an answer to, hope it doesn't stump you like it has me... I have a one page website (www.neilwilliamsvoiceover.com) that I need to put more content on for SEO purposes but needs to be kept as one page. I've set-up a blog via blogger, and have that on the website but it's in iframe, which I've now discovered is ignored by search engines. So, my question is, is there a way to pull my blog feed into the website and have it recognised by search engines as content for the website? Would I use an RSS feed or feed burner or something else completely?! Thanks for your time and help in advance.

Content Marketing Strategy for a Solar Panel Shop
Hi everybody Everybody's talking about content marketing strategies these days and the videos from MozCon has definitely been a great inspiration for me. I have a customer who sells solar panels (wiki) here in Denmark and they are more or less hooked on the idea of investing long term. And this is where I wanna ask you guys for ideas to this strategy. How to edit Page Title & Meta Description in Blogger?
I'm managing my blog on Blogger platform. I have published 7 blog posts to my patio umbrellas blog. Today, I have published following blog post to my blog. http://vistastores.blogspot.com/2012/03/offset-umbrellas-awesome-choice-for.html When I see page title so it is shows me as follow. Patio Umbrellas Blog: Offset Umbrellas: Awesome choice for good quality time outside! I want to remove Patio Umbrellas Blog: segment from each blog posts' page title. I can't find out Meta description in my blog posts. So, How can I make it happen?

Keeping web site fresh re content
We currently use a wp blog but we don not host on the web domain. What are the advanatges to moving the blog to the domain The only 1 I can think of is every time we update the blog this should help keep the web site fresh with new content .
