Do you guys think careful blog commenting is still a valuable day-to-day linkbuilding tactic? If I create a list of relevant unspammed blogs, and spend maybe 30 minutes per day commenting on 3-5 of them per day, while making sure that they're not inundated with spammy comments - is that worth my time?

I think that your time would be better spent working on your own site - especially after you have already gotten one or two posts on these "unspammed" blogs.

I think if you comment on real blogs and write real helpful comments it is worth it from a seo and marketing point of view.

Hi, I am new to SEO and I am planning to hire someone in Fiverr regularly to submit different guest posts on the different related topic on the website with a good domain authority (>60) as a result to have some quality inbound links. As I am writing the guest post myself, May I know how many backlinks should I have per post are best for SEO? and should I only focus on anchor text backlinks? Also, here is my understanding of what I should be careful when hiring someone on Fiverr to do a blog post, please let me know if I am wrong and if there is another thing I need to be careful. It needs to be dofollow link It is permanent I check the website domain authority and spam sore that the person provides before using it. Please let me know if I missed out something. Wordpress.com and Blogspot.com both have high page authority. Naturally i want to have a blog that talks about my website.

Matt Cutts - Guest posts are dead comment

It seems like it was a while ago now that Matt Cutts made his announcement "that guest posts are dead", however, does anyone know if Google has acted on this? Most particularly, for those that are targeting guest posts on high-quality sites, what has so far been the effect since the announcement on rankings? There are various different suggestions among them for example about Create a blog, Profile links, Article directories,Web 2.0 submission,Press release submission, Infographic submissions,Company directory submissions,Video submissions,Niche specific directories,Logo/Graphic/Web design directories,Free web directories,Non-English directories,RSS directories,Guest posting,Games Submission's and social bookmarking, Blog commenting, Forum posting.Q&A,Wiki Links,Local listings,Getting trackbacks. one would say to use it the other would say not to, can you please guide as to what is the right way to follow these suggestions. Also nofollow backlinks have any effect on the SERP? Thanks.

Is this a good way to create engaging content?

Hi all, I believe this is my first question in this forum, so be nice 🙂 I am an SEO consultant who has recently gone out and started my own SEO consultancy. Obviously, I now find myself in a place where I am trying to create good content for my website visitors. Maybe it's link bait, or more than likely it's a way to hold myself up as an expert in the industry, while providing visitors to my site some reason to keep on coming back. As I love whiteboard Friday, I did consider - and I'm not ruling it out in the future - creating my own whiteboard Friday videos discussing the SEO issues I was focussing on. In the meantime, I am thinking of posting up SEOmoz's whiteboard Friday videos and then making my own comments and insights for my website visitors. So, what I really wanted to ask - do you guys think this is a good idea, a valid way of creating good content and has merit/credibility? http://www.nustudio.com.au/local-seo-the-basics/ contains an example of what I am talking about. Any benefit to others' links in my blog comments?

I recently started a blog for my client. So far the response has been decent but, as should probably be expected, most of the commenters want to put a link to their own site in the comment. Do I have anything to gain by allowing these comments to stay on the page?
