Image optimization

howdy guys,
I am tryign to help my dad out with his SEO for his existing LP. its been created for "conversions" however not really made for SEO.
Anyways, he has all these images that have abs no title, alt, or desc tags on ANY images. some of the images are part of the header and some are images of people etc. there are about 30 images. and the site is all in html.
Would it be a good idea to change EVERY image or just a few and target some branding keywords?
thanks again guys, hope to hear back soon

The best solution is to be consistent and keep it in context, don't start stuffing title and alt attributes with brand terms as you need to realise the real reason for alt and title tags for accessibility. Use alt text to describe the image, you can insert keywords but don't overdo it.
Another good option is to name the images with keywords as long as it is relevant. For example if your image is a size 10 blue shoe then name it in the format:
size-10-blue-shoe.jpg
This will help when it comes to universal results, the amount of times I've seen my images list in search and actually got traffic through it.

hey chenzo, thx for the reply, so would you suggest going after every image and optimizing every image? there are images on there that are simply images of a bracket or an icon, no need to SEO for those right? I am thinking more so for the testimonial images, product images etc...
you also mentioned about long tail KWs, i found a GREAT tool for long tail keyword. its actually google suggestions, its a google suggestions tool, i w
as thinking of using all the suggestions from the brand term and using those for the many images i have on the site.
the tool is found at : http://ubersuggest.org/
let me know what you think

Great question and yes, it is a huge plus to renaming the images...BUT, don't go crazy. As in any keyword placement, variation is key...if it is just you working on the SEO then choose no more than 10, no less than 3 keywords. Name them accordingly... What it seems google is loving even more.... Long tails !

Optimizing images and more for page speed
Hey everyone! I run a comparison/affiliate site for men's clothing. On the side of that, I have a Squarespace site for inspiration, articles and outfit pictures. I've tried to optimize site speed for the Squarespace site without much success. I've run all pictures trough JPEGmini to decrease file size but it doesn't seem to be enough. Below I attached the result I got when I run one of the pages trough Lighthouse and GTmetrix. Do you have recommendations of what I can do to improve the results? Is it a good idea to use next-gen formats for pictures as Google suggests as an example? Kind regards,

Alt and title tags on images
For SEO, are alt and title tags still worth the effort? Or have they gone the way of meta keywords? I can see having alt tags for visually impaired reasons, but at this point is there any SEO reason to use them?

Image Alt For Logo
I've just run an on page audit of my website www.octopus-hr.co.uk and it seems in reasonable shape. However, I wonder whether I'm missing a trick with the Image Alt for my company logo. The logo appears on every page and links back to the home page. Currently the Alt tag is just the Company name "Octopus". We develop HR Software and we would love to rank better for the term "HR Software". Is it legitimate to change the alt tag to "Octopus HR Software" for my logo or is considered spam and likely to get us hit with a penalty? Thanks in advance David

Is there a way to export the On-page Optimization report data to Excel?
I am preparing recommendations for my client's Webmaster from the On-page Report Card. I am integrating them into a larger Excel spreadsheet with other recommended changes. So many SEO Moz reports can be exported to Excel. Is this an exception, or am I missing something? It would really save me a lot of time and effort.

Nofollow images to sculpt internal anchor tags
One of my client tags image-links with nofollow if those links are before a regular HTML link in the source code, e.g.:

Check our page aboutreally cool shoes. They do this to "better pass anchor tags" to the page /page-about-shoes.html. My question: Is this a good practice to do? Thanks Sebes0 -
How quickly should I change/edit sites to avoid potential over optimization penalty?
Regard today's White Board, I'm wondering how quickly one should start changing title tags, page content, footer links, etc. on sites? I operate a few different sites and some of them definitely have things that need to be changed. Would it be weird or trigger something in Google if all the sites were changed in 24 - 48 hours? Thanks for your help!

Home Page Optimization For Wordpress Blog
Hi, I'm developing a wordpress site and currently confused over home page optimization. I'm planning to use excerpts of posts on home page so that users can glance over all recent posts and at same time avoid content duplication. But I'm not sure how to optimize the home page for couple of targeted keywords . How can i make sure that there is enough content, proper H1, title tag etc on home page for target keywords even by using excerpts of different posts on home page with Read more links to complete posts? Should i use some sticky post on home page to take care of all onpage requirements for required keywords or there are some other better ways to do it? Regards, shaz
