Any article sites that actually still rank welll?
-
Hi All!
After the havoc of Panda and Penguin - are there any article sites that still rank decently for the articles within? I'm not talking about using articles to get backlinks - I want to attract visitors to the articles themselves because of the message within the article.
Yes, I know that for lots of reasons my own blog would be better. In addition to that, if you want to spread the message - which sites are recommended?
Thanks!

I don't know of any.
100% of our effort goes into our own sites.

Thanks for the reply. I entirely agree with what you're saying, but there was a reason why I asked the question the way I asked it.
Yes, your own site is better. If there is a reason why you don't want to promote your site directly (without going into what those reasons would be), IS there an external source to promote your message on where you will retain full control of the content?
Should I understand that you think there is none?
Thanks!

After the havoc of Panda and Penguin - are there any article sites that still rank decently for the articles within?
Yes. These are the sites owned by people with the ability to produce kickass articles and never gave anything to article sites.
Yes, I know that for lots of reasons my own blog would be better.
If you can produce kickass articles - the kind that make visitors say WOW! - then find the courage to take this route.
In addition to that, if you want to spread the message - which sites are recommended?
Once you have those kickass articles. Spread the message about the articles that are on your site instead of giving the articles away. Spread the message to sites that only mention your article or serve as a sign post to it. Slashdot, reddit, digg, bloggers in your industry/niche.
If you really have kickass articles you will not have to work very hard at this. If you give people a way to subscribe to your future articles through a service like feedburner you can build a stead and enthusiastic readership that will grow powerful over time.
Don't give your stuff away. Instead build your brand.
But if you can't make kickass content this isn't going to work.

How to fight against a site always "re-write" your content?
A site is always copying our content then re-write to their site, how to fight against this kind of action? (Many of those copied content can get a rank very closely behind us, which will grab some of our visits ) I tried to find DMCA, but as they have changed some paragraphes, etc, DMCA can't punish them as copying. I think many of you also have met such a problem, how will you handle this situation??

Will a comment section on my site help with seo
I have never been a fan of comment pages such as the sun http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showbiz/tv/4783642/bruce-willis-appears-on-the-one-show-in-awkward-interview.html but i was told the other day that not only is it good for the reader but it is also good for seo and increase the number of times that google would visit the page and i would like to know if that is true. if you have added a comment section to your articles i would like to know if you have noticed any change.

Blog and Website = 2 different URL's - Is it WORTH to merge content on to one site
Good day Mozzers! A friend of mine recently asked for my help in regards to online marketing. While getting familiar with his online presence, I realized that he has a blog hosted under a completely different URL Main Site = http://pardons.org/ (page rank 4)

Blog = http://pardons.wordpress.com/ (page rank 3) What I am battling with is whether or not he should take all of the blog content he has, and merge it on to his main site. It has over 280+ blog posts spanning over a few years, so there is A LOT of content that could benefit his main site. However is it worth it, or should he continue to run everything as 2 different sites? Also, of you suggest moving the content over, what would be the best way to do it in your opinion? He currently has links on his blog TO his main site, so there is a little bit of link juice there, but with a average of 300 views a day, he only get about 10 clicks to his main site from the blog. Thanks a ton for your help!0 -
Forum Site: Content Value Post Panda
I run a forum website built on Wordpress. We're about two years old. The theme of the site is a directory of attorneys, with each directory listing having its own blog account on our site. Through this platform, we receive 75-80 blog posts now every month of varying quality from our users. QUESTION: A good number of the blogs published on our site are also published on the attorney's law firm site as well (they're syndicating on our site). Will this hurt our site in light of Panda? A lot of the syndicated content is very well written and insightful. By contrast, Will non-syndicated but average to below average posts hurt our site? The authors almost always link back to their firm site. Would love some feedback on whether we should be happy about the syndicated content or whether we should potentially ban it?
