The above url pints to dat I'd love to see in my Google analytics account but instead all i can see is this:
http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc53/zymurgy_bucket/no-socail-media-engagementcopy.jpgWhat i really want to measure is Facebook Likes etc not just referral traffic from social media sites. So my question is please...
"Do i have to add additional tracking code to Google analytics as explained here - https://developers.google.com/analytics/devguides/collection/gajs/gaTrackingSocial "
Thanks in advance,

Just wondering if you ever got this working to your satisfaction, Nightwing?
Also, if appropriate, could you mark a "Good Answer" and mark the overall question as answered? This will help other users who may come across the question in the future.
Thanks!

The short answer, Nightwing, is yes And the equally short answer if you're using Wordpress is - try the plugin!
There's nothing about the clicking of a social button on a page that triggers any kind of event that Google Analytics can see, so you have to add code to the page so GA can sense and record the interaction. (basically a more sophisticated version of adding event tracking)
I haven't implemented this myself yet, so no advice other than - don't try to use the GA Developer instructions. Don't know about you, but those instructions are pretty opaque, to me.
If the plugin doesn't work for you, google the topic and see if you can find something that's better written. The couple I'm looking at are
- http://yoast.com/social-buttons/ (WordPress - yoast is always top-notch)

One of the cool things you can do with this is track these interactions on your Facebook Tab pages!

Do custom tracking codes affect indexing?
Hello, My company uses a tracking system that allows our employees to apply a short code snippet to the end of our URLs for marketing attribution. An example of such a code would be: https://www.schoolofmotion.com/?ref_id=moz-test However, in Google Analytics we are seeing duplicates of our content, where the pages with the individual tracking codes are counted separately from the pages without. From a reporting perspective, this is annoying and definitely worth a fix. However, I'm curious if this problem is affecting our search potential as well. Could this tracking system be splitting traffic in Google's eyes? From an SEO perspective, how should we approach this? Would canonical tags fix this duplication issue in Google Analytics? Is there something else that we should use? Thanks in advance. The Moz community is incredible.

How to see organic traffic trend in GA?
Hi Guys, I want to identify whether organic landing pages in Google Analytics month on month (over 6 month period) have increased or decreased in traffic and whether the traffic trend is positive or negative. See attachment of the data. In total there are 500 pages, so it's just not feasible to review each organic chart for each organic landing page to view the trend. I’m sure there is some way to view this in Google Analytics, but just not sure how. Any suggestions? Cheers. 0Bnv85G.jpg

Is it possible to have a GA event and a GA virtual pageview fire off of the same click?
If we can only choose one, we'll likely go with the Event, but I'm hoping we'll be able to do both and gather more data about when certain pages (even if they are virtual) are viewed in the path to conversion.

Tracking Organic Traffic and Conversions from multiple TLDs with Google Tag Manager
Hello Guys, I want to track traffic / conversions from different domains (basically same brand - but a lot of different TLD's). The "problem" is that the main conversion which I want to track always happens on the .com TLD and all other TLD's link to there. The problem is, that now the traffic always counts as Referral Traffic, even after setting up cross domain tracking over the google tag manager... So example: Sessions begins on example.co.uk/landing-page11 after User searched on it on google. He decides to buy the product and therefore moves to example.com for the checkout process. No I will have the conversion in my google analytics under referral with example.co.uk. --> but I want to have it under organic, and not under referral. How I can manage this? Thanks for you Help!

Tracking clicks from a specific link
Hi all, I'm looking for a bit of help with Analytics. I want to track the number of clicks that my main CTA generates over the course of the month. I've got all my goals set up correctly, but is there some sort of code that I can add to that specific link which will count the goal conversions which it generates? Do I need to set up something specific in GA? Thanks a lot for your help,

Campaign tracking and duplicate content
Hi all, When you set up campaign tracking in Google Analytics you get something like this "?variable=value parameters" in the URL. If you place such a link on your site as an internal link, will it be considered as a different URL and will have its own link value? The question I have is, since Google knows it's a Google link and knows the original URL (by stripping the tags), does it pass link value to the original URL? If not, what can be done to pass link value? Thanks in advance. Henry
