Does Google follow links inside a <noscript>tag?</noscript>

I'm looking at making an embedable calculator and asking users to embed it to their website. I had the idea of using javascript to include the calculator which would also conatain a text link back to my site in order to gain some back links.
If it's possible Google won't see the link (as they may not execute the javascript), is it safe to place the link in the
<noscript>tag? If so, Will it be indexed and will Page Rank be passed?</span></p> <p>Thanks in advance for your answers. </p> <p>Anthony</p> <p><span style="color: #5e5e5e;"><br /></span></p></noscript>

Hi there,
Google is getting better at crawling Javascript and pulling URLs out, so there's a fair chance it will count anyway.
Links in the
<noscript>tag are crawled, but make sure that the noscript content is well-suited for a user with Javascript disabled. Do not turn it into a list of links :)</p></noscript>

If its hidden, it won't be counted as a link. The user/viewer must be able to see the actual link and the robot has to be able to crawl it.
I believe WMT has a crawling option to show you what the robot sees on your page. You can perhaps create a draft page on your own site and use WMT to see if the page is crawled and if the link is seen.

This is currently just an idea so we are unable to test it as yet.
We know that the link would be visible if a user didn't have JavaScript enabled, therefore Google should see also the link. The question is would Google recognise this as a legitimate link or would it treat it as a hidden link and therefore give it less priority.

The bottom line is that the link is rendered at the load of the webpage. So if you already have someone with the calculator on their webpage, see if your link is there and has the ability to be clicked. If so, it should be counted as a backlink.
As long as the link is rendered at the end, and the HTML code shows the link in HTML, it should be counted as a backlink.

Hi there, We have a good-sized eCommerce client that is gearing up for a relaunch. At this point, the staging site follows the previous best practice for pagination (self-referencing canonical tags on each page; rel=next & prev tags referencing the last and next page within the category). Knowing that Google does not support rel=next/prev tags, does that change your thoughts for how to set up canonical tags within a paginated product category? We have some categories that have 500-600 products so creating and canonicalizing to a 'view all' page is not ideal for us. That leaves us with the following options (feel it is worth noting that we are leaving rel=next / prev tags in place): Leave canonical tags as-is, page 2 of the product category will have a canonical tag referencing ?page=2 URL Reference Page 1 of product category on all pages within the category series, page 2 of product category would have canonical tag referencing page 1 (/category/) - this is admittedly what I am leaning toward. Any and all thoughts are appreciated! If this were in relation to an existing website that is not experiencing indexing issues, I wouldn't worry about these. Is it against google guidelines to use third party review sites as well as have reviews on my site marked up with schema?
So, i look after a site for my family business. We have teamed up with the third party site TrustPilot because we like the way it enables us to send out reviews to our customers directly from our system. It's been going great and some of the reviews have been brilliant. I have used a couple of these reviews on our site and marked them up with: REVIEW CONTENT We work in the service industry and so one of the problems we have found is that getting our customers to actually go online and leave a review. They normally just leave their comments on a job sheet that the workers have signed when they leave. So I have created a page on our site where we post some of the reviews the guys receive too. I have used the following: REVIEW TITLE REVIEW Written by: CUSTOMER NAME Type of Service:House Removal Date published: DATE PUBLISHED 10 / 10 stars I was just wondering I was told that this could be against googles guidelines and as i've seen a bit of a drop in our rankings in the last week or so i'm a little concerned. Is this getting me penalised? Should I not use my reviews referencing the ones on trust pilot and should i not have my own reviews page with rich snippets?

Best way to indicate multiple Lang/Locales for a site in the sitemap
So here is a question that may be obvious but wondering if there is some nuance here that I may be missing. Question: Consider an ecommerce site that has multiple sites around the world but are all variations of the same thing just in different languages. Now lets say some of these exist on just a normal .com page while others exist on different ccTLD's. Link Juice Passing Through Headers
I understand the concept of linking your pages internally to help pass juice to one another but it seems to me that the navigation bar with links to your main pages that appear on every page kind of eliminate the linking strategy. For Example: At the top of every page is a Home, About, Services, Contact, etc. Do the bots count these as links from each page? There must be something I'm missing here! Help me out guys!
