Should I link from my blog back to my product pages?

Hello... I just installed a blog on my Magento site. My question is whether or not i should be linking within posts on the blog back to the product or category pages that i am talking about...from an SEO perspective. If in my post i am talking about flashlights being important when preparing for a storm, should i link the word flashlights to the flashlight category on my site? I know I can do this, the question is should i, from google's perspective. A) should i link the word (flashlights) to that category on my page B) should i put a line at the bottom of every post that says something like "if you are interested in purchasing flashlights, visit this link" and hyperlink that whole sentence... THANKS!

I don't include this information on product pages because it is too long. The product pages are short and sweet for good conversions, although a link to this additional information is obviously posted for people who view the product pages. The articles are typically over 1000 words, several photos and a video. These articles also target keywords that the product pages do not and they pull in a lot more traffic from search than the product pages. Lots of the traffic that enters these pages moves to the product pages through obvious links and some of them buy the product.

Should this content not be included on the individual product pages?

 Thank you, Sir!

Most of my posts are about "how to use this product". My goals in creating them are.... -
make helpful content that increases the trust of prospective buyers.. In emails lots of people tell me that they bought from my site because I have so much good content about the product -much more than the manufacturer or any other retailer.
-
make helpful content that answers questions that prospective buyers might have - this saves phone calls and email questions
-
make helpful content that I can link to when someone writes with a question or refer to on the phone
-
get more pages in the SERPs for product-related keywords. This expands your keyword reach and earns double listings for valuable keywords

you're saying that an internal link within a blog post is good, correct? This is what I do. I believe that it is helpful for SEO and helpful to visitors. I have lots of articles on a blog and every one of them links to a product page whenever that product is mentioned in the article. (I only link once to that page in each blog post - the first time that the product is mentioned or the mention where I think the reader's interest to view or purchase might be highest. is there a guideline as to maybe how many links i should put per post? I have never heard about any "guideline". I can only say what I do. One of my post could have links to one, five, ten or twenty products. Most have three to five. If those products are mentioned naturally in the post then I link them. I am not trying to stuff products into posts, just whatever natural writing creates.

And if i understood your answer properly, and I am to continue linking within posts, is there a guideline as to maybe how many links i should put per post? Thanks again!!

should i, from google's perspective? I can say that internal links can improve rankings and they can transfer small amounts of anchor text value to the target page (or at least that was the case the last time I experimented about a year ago - who knows what google did yesterday or will do tomorrow). So, based upon that, if I write an article that has a relevant connection to a product on my site I will make an anchor text link to the product page. This should be helpful to visitors. If you are talking about a widget twister in an article the person reading might want to look at one for informational reasons... or they might want to buy one. Either way, that link helped the visitor.

Unsolved Are links from staff profile pages no longer good for SEO?
Hey there, We run a small site that lists lawyers and we have an opportunity to ask the lawyers to display a 'badge' on their own website's staff page, linked back to the page on our site that they are listed on. Initially I thought this would be good link building (i.e. the lawyer's own staff/profile pages on their website linking to our site where they are listed = a highly relevant link). I was less concerned about the authority of the law firm's sites, though these will range from sometimes low-ish to medium. I just assumed that Google would see the value in the lawyer wanting to link to our site where they are listed. However, our SEO has said that these days Google doesn't give much/any value to these types of links from individual staff pages. His advice was to try and get the badge added to one of their service pages (or their About page) which will be unlikely as the badge is person-specific. I thought I'd ask if this was everyone else's experience regarding Google not valuing links from individual staff pages? Thanks for you help 🙂 Link Building | | Andy-H0

Backlinks vs External Links vs Referral Links vs Outbound links
Hello all, I was just wondering if you could explain the difference between all the links above? I'm confused as they all seem to be the same or similar and I would just like to clearly know what distinguishes them from eachother. Thanks for your help, Jayne Link Building | | NCOREGSEO0

Back link from site with DA of 72 to a website domain. Clicking on the link redirects to our website not the attended one.
 Hi, Link Building | | JIMBO16
I've ran a back link check and discovered a good back link to a site which then gets redirected back to my company's website. I have a feeling that an old SEO agency has purchased a small website which has a decent link back from a relevant organisation with a high Domain authority and then redirects the domain to our website to get the link juice. What are your thought on this? Is this really bad practise and possibly damaging? Thanks, Jim0

The Benefit of Internal Backwards Links in Product Descriptions
We want to work out if it is beneficial to use links pointing back to categories (higher up in the structure) on our website product pages. For example, our Aria Dress by Jadore is found through the path: Home > Bridesmaid > Full Length Bridesmaids Dresses > Aria Dress In the product description for the Aria Dress, is it beneficial to include internal links pointing back to higher branches in the website structure .e.g. the Full Length Bridesmaids Dresses category page, the Bridesmaid category page, as well as linking back to the 'Jadore' page? Will doing this for every dress (linking back to category page), improve the SEO of these category pages? How many internal links is too many to include on any given product description? Is it more important to ensure a direct link to every single webpage so that they can be reached by Google, or to include links in both directions .i.e. from Home > Product Category > Product, as well as from Product > Product Category? Thank you. Link Building | | CostumeD0

Site Published Our Guest Post but Removed the Link Back
I recently developed a nice article for a career site and they agreed to publish it as a guest post. Once they published the article I noticed they had removed the link back to my site in the byline. What is a best way to approach this situation? Would you ask them to take down the article if they are unwilling to link back to your site? Link Building | | Charlessipe0

Best way to structure a service area page with many locations to maximize internal links to them?
Currently our service area page (http://www.njlimocarservice.com/services.html) very sloppily lists many of the towns we serve in multiple counties - over 50 approx (scroll down). They have been placed that way so there is links to them from one of the subpages directly linked from the root domain. I am now attempting to make it pretty and organized with my designer. I intend to maintain a link to each individual town/landing page for SEO purposes to keep it close to root domain. My questions is how to best structure this. I don't want to list by county because some people don't know what county the town is in. However an alphabetical list may be overkill as there is so many. The other option is to get a search form or dropdown list on there but how will my landing pages be recognized by crawlers if there is no internal links from my root domain? Eventually we plan to expand further so what happens when we add 100+ landing pages? What will then happen to my internal link juice? Thanks! Link Building | | kabledesigns0

		Link Detox and Link Removal
I have a question about which links to remove after running a link detox from Link Research Tools. First a little back story. I had had an SEO company link building for one of the websites I own. But I have recently stopped working with them. In the last month my rankings have near dropped off the charts. I have just recently gotten access to Google webmaster tools and noticed an unnatural link warning from back in March. So yesterday I ran link detox and it reported 19 toxic links, 120 suspicious links, and 24 healthy links. It's rather obvious that I should remove all of the toxic links. They all from sites that have been deindexed by google. But my question is a about the suspicious links. What should my criteria be for removing them? Am I better off removing them all and leaving my site with only 24 healthy links or should I personally comb through them and remove only the worst of the worst so that I leave my site with a few more links? I'd really like to get the site ready to resubmit to google as soon as I can. Thoughts? yyCOf.png Link Building | | CobraJones950
