E-commerce Customer Reviews/Ratings Solutions?
-
Hi all,
Was wondering if based on your experience you could recommend E-commerce customer reviews/ratings solutions? Or if you prefer to use in-house built solutions.
I currently have proposals from bazaarvoice, Shopzilla and Reevoo.
Cheers

Unless you can find a 3rd party provider who allows you to "white-label" their rating/reviews to your subdomain, there is not much value having it. The review/rating system should work semi-automatic to block any type of spam and you should own the data (i.e. be able to export it).
Unless you can run this on a subdomain, there is zero SEO value for you though....

No problem.
I believe FeeFo moderate the feedback. We have had a good result when responding to any negative feedback.

Thanks Craig, I'll give them a call.
Just one last question; who moderates the comments and reviews? You do or they do?
Cheers

Hi Carols,
I know that for us that is work in progress but can happen. We are using there base system without any direct integration to our site (cost more than anything at the present time)
If you speak with them I am pretty confident they would be able to achieve exactly what you are after.

Hi Craig - Ideally I would like the reviews to be hosted only on my site so that I can benefit from the fresh/unique content.
If you look for the content left by reviewers on your site, you'll see that Google has indexed it on the FeeFo website https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=This+was+a+present%2C+but+of+course+I+had+to+try+it+on+myself...+Nice+quality%2C+so+much+so+that+I+did+briefly+consider+holding+on+to+it.+I+will+be+tempted+to+order+again+for+my+son.+There's+nothing+like+a+luxurious%2C+thick+new+dressing+gown+to+make+you+consider+your+own+worn%2C+threadbare+one%2C&oq=This+was+a+present%2C+but+of+course+I+had+to+try+it+on+myself...+Nice+quality%2C+so+much+so+that+I+did+briefly+consider+holding+on+to+it.+I+will+be+tempted+to+order+again+for+my+son.+There's+nothing+like+a+luxurious%2C+thick+new+dressing+gown+to+make+you+consider+your+own+worn%2C+threadbare+one%2C&sugexp=chrome,mod=0&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

I have used both Trustpilot, not that hot and now we are using FeeFo which seems to be working well. We have feedback at both service and product level, take a look on www.towelsrus.co.uk.
There technical team are working on a nice solution so as to allow both SEO benefits from reviews and also as we do currently receive back links from there site on reviews, so a double whammy.
There tech team are really helpful and very responsive so a good all round reviews solution.

What are the best practices for server-side A/B testing?
When performing a full-site server-side A/B test, what best practices should you follow to ensure that you're: not cloaking or at least not being shady only showing Google (and other search engines) the version you want them to see (i.e. not the test pages) Thanks in advance!

Can using the Google Keywords tool and/or SEOmoz cause problems for my company's IP address?
I just started with a company a few weeks back, working on-site doing SEO work. I've been using SEOmoz as well as Google Adwords' Keywords tool. I just got a message from one of our reps saying that people at the office (and this is a huge office) have reported tons of CAPTCHAs being thrown up frequently. I told them I had been running searches with Google Keywords tool and SEOmoz, but would that really cause that much of a problem? Is there anything I can do in order to fix this, some keyword finders that won't get me in trouble, etc.?

Conversion Rate - site feedback
Hi We gave a website a bit of a facelift last nov with the aim of increasing its position within Search Engines and getting it to begin making sales. The site: www.funkyfootstools.com is now moving in the right direction for its keyphrases, footstools and ottomans although it still needs some work. The issue I have is that from the visitors that come to the site, the stats prove they have a look around, they are just not purchasing - I am not sure if this is because of the layout, ie. usability or if there is something else. Any ideas & feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Carl

Reviews not shown on google search & seller rating extensions (adwords)
Hello, we have 2 questions, regarding reviews from rating websites. 1. Reviews on google Search We have several reviews for our website www.theprintspace.co.uk from various rating sites (e.g. qype, yelp, remotegoat, etc.). When searching for theprintspace on google, only some reviews and only some rating website are shown, most are not. For qype, for instance, we have 8 reviews, but google only indicates that we have 3. The yelp reviews (and many others) are not shown at all. According to google, it takes a maximum of 2 months for the correct number of reviews to be shown on google, but the reviews have been online for over 2 months now. Is there any way this problem can be solved, so google shows the correct number of reviews? 2. Seller rating extensions on google adwords We would like the reviews to be displayed in our google adwords as a seller rating extension. These will include the merchant star rating for advertisers that are highly rated on Google Product Search. We are setting up a google merchant account to do so. Google says: "Ratings are based on the user reviews collected by Google Product Search, which aggregates reviews from a broad base of sources across the web, including Reseller Ratings, Bizrate, ReviewCentre.com and Viewpoints." Do you know if the following rating website are in google's "base of sources" and will thus be recognised and used in google adwords as rating extensions? Yelp Qype Scoot Remotegoat viewlondon tipped Or does google only source from big e-commerce rating websites? How do we get the ratings into our adwords? Thank you for your help!

Good content but high bounce rate
Hi all, We run a website offering specialist turkey tours and gulet cruises. Our website holds a few information and recipes pages which are doing well in the engines and bring in alot of traffic. However these pages are crippling our bounce rate with bounces of about 80-90%. The time on site for these pages are above the websites average, but it seems that once the reader has finished with the information/ recipe, they bounce back to the Search engines. An example of one of our recipe pages can be found here: http://www.petersommer.com/turkey/turkish-food/pilav-rice/ We have thought about moving and redirecting these pages from our main site to a new website, but we are worried that it may effect our position in the SERP's. Can anybody offer any advice on this? Thanks
