Can't find Text-Only Cached version in Google search
-
Hi,
I'm trying to view the text-only of a webpage to run a SEO audit, however Google does not give me this option. When i click the two arrows that appear to the right of a search result, the only option I get is Cached.
Is there a reason this might be happening? I've tried clearing my cookies, signing out of Google, and anything else I could find on my troll of the internet.
I also tried text, only please! however whether this works or not is debatable considering it shows me actual pictures on the site.
Any ideas, or maybe another add-on that will work?

There are a few other tools out there that can simulate the cache view... such as <cite>www.seo-browser.com/.</cite>

Thanks Owen, the Webmaster tool is good but I would like to see the page as it is rather than sifting through code. As you mentioned, I think the issue is with how new the page is. This site was redesigned about a month ago.

I'd suggest using Google Webmaster Tools, and run the "fetch as googlebot" report. This will give you an idea of what Google may be seeing of your content.
I've seen the text only version absent for pages which are too new, or page that Google has had trouble crawling.
Exact phrase matches (using quotes around a query) is another way to get an idea of what text Google is finding from a page.

Fixing Index Errors in the new Google Search Console - Help
Hi, So I have started using the new Search Console and for one of my clients, there are a few 'Index Coverage Errors'. In the old version you could simply, analyse, test and then mark any URLs as fixed - does anyone know if that is possible in the new version? There are options to validate errors but no 'mark as fixed' options. Do you need to validate the errors before you can fix them?

I still don't understand how rel=canonical works. Help?
So here's the deal. I write for many different outlets. I also have many different pages on my blog that have duplicates (authorized, of course). On my blog, I have many different pages that redirect to "the original" content. I've only recently discovered the existence of rel=canonical. However I don't understand how it works. I have very specific questions. Can anyone help? If, on my blog, I have a blog post that's the original. And another website has the same content, used with authorization. If I want to tell search engines that the original content is on MY blog, what can I do? Is the only solution to ask the owner of the other blog to add a rel=canonical in the header of the specific post? If, on my blog, I have a blog post that's NOT the original. Do I simply add rel=canonical to the header, then add a link to the original in the body? If, on my blog, I have THE FIRST 300 WORDS of a blog post, then add a link saying "to read the whole article, click here" with a link pointing to the original, do I need to have a rel=canonical tag somewhere? Does it HAVE to be in the header? Can rel=canonical be used in the - What penalties are included with having duplicate content of my work everywhere on the web? I've been trying to find specifics, but can't. Thanks for the help. I'm quite confused, as you can see.

Does Google Analytics' Enhanced Link Attribution cause any SEO problems?
We are looking to implement Google Analytics Enhanced Link Attribution on our site. Our tech person says that this will cause SEO problems because of "duplicate URLS." I am not technical, so I don't understand this at all and can't find any research on the topic. I would like to know if there are any known SEO problems caused by putting in Enhanced Link Attribution.

Inches or " Feet or ' Does Google translate the symbols?
I have a client who sells things that the size is important. In their industry some people say "15 Inch Blue Widget" and others say "15" Blue Widget" using the symbol " for inches. On the page I know we could say both to cover all the bases but I want to get the title right. In their industry there is not one more preferred than the other. Does anybody know if Google translates ' to feet and " to inches. Should I work both into the title for a product or only one?

Google picking up old pages
I recently redesigned a site that had all the keywords it was ranking for going to the home page. Now I have specific pages for each of these keywords but I'm seeing the home page (not the page that, if I do an on page optimization by hand in MOZ gives me an A rating) showing up in the auto reports (assuming pages Google sees for these keywords related to the url) as F's. They're all pointing to the home page. I've redirected the old index.html home page to the new but I suspect the reason is actually these pages (were) ranking for these terms (though none too well - all but one were not in the top 50 and one was 45) because these rankings are all dropping as well. I'm at a loss, with the site replaced, as to how to correct this and tell Google these keyword phrases all have their own pages now. I've dug through this forum and the only applicable answer I can see would be to add these phases to the home page (where they all rank for now) with anchored links to their new (A rated by Moz for these terms when I hand enter them) singular pages? Or is it just a waiting game?

How can I make google display rich snippets when searching for my domain?
My domain is www.phraseexpander.com If I search for phraseexpander in google, I'm in the first position (as it should be) but google is not giving extra space to my result as it happens, for example, if you search for "fogbugz". Is there any way I can hep google index my contents (I currently have a site index that is created by Yoast SEO). Thanks a lot. Andrea

Which is better to use: apostrophe version or non-apostrophe version?
When targeting a keyword phrase that contains an apostrophe (in the correct spelling), is it better to use the non-apostrophe version if it has higher search volume.
