What tools are people using to analyse clicked links

Hi,
What tools do you use/recommend to analyse what/where links are being clicked on a page.
I have seen a few mentions about CrazyEgg but are there any free (but good) tools around worth using?

I use google analytics for this thing.
Audience --> Visitor Flow and Content --> In Page Analytics
You can also do custom reports. You don't need a third party tool for this simple report.

Google Analytics offers a basic version of this. They call it "in page analytics" and you can find it under Content > In-Page Analytics. More info here: http://support.google.com/analytics/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=2558811.
That's probably as good as it gets for free versions but I haven't looked into it much. I have used Crazy Egg when I've need to dive deeper, and that works well and is fairly cost effective if you only need it for a month or two.

Anyone heard of or used Hadoop software for SEO/website analytics?
Hey Moz Community, We received an interesting email this morning from a client's marketing manager asking if we knew about or have ever used "Hadoop software" because "[Business owner name] says it’s supposed to help us see how people use our website and more." I've never heard of this software and upon looking around on the web, it says it can do a lot, but my client is a small law firm who average 800-1,000 visitors per month, mainly from their 2 local office cities/markets. Anyone have any thoughts on this or ever use this software? Thanks in advance. Patrick

Google Analytics shows most referrers as "Direct" -- What are some better tools?
Very often Google Analytics will show 50-90% of our referrers as (direct) which is not very helpful. Are there other tools out there that will provide a clearer breakdown of what other websites are sending us our traffic? Specifically, I want to be able to be able to tell who are the top traffic referrers to my top performing pages on my site for the last 30 days. (I want to be able to study this on a per-page basis.) What to get from google Webmaster tools?
Hi everyone, I've been doing optimization for our websites and tracking the results regularly but don't really know what the results actually mean. I heard that I need to check the traffic and organic results from Google analytics and Google webmaster tools. Everybody says something and not sure what to do? How to track what people type on my text boxes on Google Analytics?
Hi there! In our website, we have a few text boxes that users need to use to complete the goal. The boxes aren't search boxes, but it's still important to us to track what people type on it. I'm looking for a way to track the data through the "event" feature in Google Analytics, but it seems that this tracker can only calculate clicks, or video views etc. Does anyone knows how to track do it?

Why is Webmaster Tools not Linking Correctly Google Analytics?
I have a global site with .com as the US site and then /country for all other markets i.e. .com/uk .com/de etc. Each site has it's own WMT profile. Each site has it's own GA profile. Since Google added Search Engine Optimization to the GA interface, I can't track these sites separately under this new feature. It seems to me that it can only be associated with a single WMT profile at a time or rather that WMT can only be associated with a single GA profile at a time. The numbers for the UK and US site are identical, but when I try and link the UK WMT account with GA it removes it from the US profile and vice versa.
