Increasing Search Queries
-
Recently I had a drop in the over all number of search queries my website was ranking for (about 50%) on October 5th. I did not lose rankings for my target keywords. How can I regain these lost opportunities?

Nov 5th 2012 is the exact data of the 21st Google Panda rollout!
Are you a victim of it? May be, because the date is exactly the same data when Google rolled out hte update on Panda. Here is the like to it! http://www.seroundtable.com/google-panda-21-15918.html
I guess when you need to do is to figure out what quires are lost and what pages were ranking against it.. once done, start fixing the pages in terms of on-page and content and get more natural links to it and most probably things will go good with you again!

Nice strategy. I'll look into it.

Before you can even starting thinking of regaining the lost opportunities, you need to identify the source of the problem. How can you solve the problem without identifying it first? Since you didn't lose any rankings for your targeted keywords, it sounds like the strategy you have in place for your targeted keywords is fine and the lost opportunities are stemming from your non-targeted keywords. Find out what keywords have taken the biggest hit, locate the associations of these non-targeted keywords to your site and identify what about your site was causing it to hit on these particular keywords. Only when you answer these questions can you begin to strategize how to regain your lost opportunities.

Hi Raphael,
These are the steps you need to go through to first identify the issue, then solve it.
1. Identify if there is any seasonal variation in your target keywords - Google keyword tool will help with this.
2. Identify if there is a drop for keywords you're not racking. You maybe tracking 100 keywords, but it's a safe bet to say you're getting found for many more than you're tracking. Have the traffic to these dropped?
3. Has your (not provided) keyword traffic increased? Check in Google analyticsOnce you understand where the drop has come from, you can then start to work out the problem.
1. If it's seasonal, were the search terms for Halloween? Not much you do.
2. If it's non rank tracked keywords, start making useful content that is about your long tail keywords and build some related links
3. If it's not provided, then your overall traffic probably hasn't gone down.Following these steps will put you on the right track.
Thanks

Hi Raphael,
If you have lost some rankings on some of your keywords then most probably your SEO strategy is not the right one.
First of all I will suggest you to start from on-page optimisation for those keywords, where you've lost your rankings. Just make sure that all your title tags, H1 tags, Alt tages are written properly. Then check if you have sufficient number of targeted keywords in your content and make sure if content is not duplicated.
Then you can review your linkbuilding strategy and try to get some relevant (by website theme) links from good quality websites. Also you can use new Google tool to disable bad quality links.
And I am sure your rankings will recover.
Cheers,
Russel

My website (non-adult) is not appearing in Google search results when i have safe search settings on. How can i fix this?
Hi, I have this issue where my website does not appear in Google search results when i have the safe search settings on. If i turn the safe search settings off, my site appears no problem. I'm guessing Google is categorizing my website as adult, which it definitely is not. Has anyone had this issue before? Or does anyone know how to resolve this issue? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

No Results for Google/Bing Keyword Search by Domain Name
My site is bestwebconsult [dot] com When I do a search for my exact domain name in Google and bing, it does not appear at all. I have submitted a sitemap to Webmaster Tools. It is a relatively new site completed with in the last month. Built with Joomla. This leads me to believe that something is misconfigured on the website. Please advise, thanks!

Location appearing on search result. how can this be achieved?
I'm pretty sure this site is not doing any SEO but i think what made them no. 1 is the location. I already tried adding a google publisher tag to my site that points to my google page which contains my address but i still can't have the location appear.. here's a screenshot of the search result that i want to achieve: https://www.dropbox.com/s/tbdv3121rrs6zp5/Screen Shot 2013-04-15 at 9.39.30 AM.png Screen%20Shot%202013-04-15%20at%209.39.30%20AM.png

Is Google applying some customized search results, even when Private Browsing?
I am including a screenshot of a very interesting search result I received while InPrivate Browsing in Google using IE9. I was spot-checking some keywords while private browsing and the first one I searched was "presonus studiolive." Then, I searched a completely unrelated term "communion supplies." I am attaching a screenshot of the search results page I then received from Google. Interesting, no? I can't even begin to wrap my head around the implications of a search results page that mixes results from two completel unrelated terms. Thoughts? 7QNxPHM.jpg

Organic Search Problems?
Hey guys, I am in need of a little help! I am currently an aspiring SEO (trying to absorb as much information as I can and implement changes to help my site organically)... Most of my experience revolves around SEM. That being said, I have a problem. My site is doing well through paid search... great quality scores, etc. However, the content on my site (and even my site as a whole) does not "appear" to rank well in Organic. To explain further... My site is federalautoloan.com... and when I type in exact article names (or even federal auto loan) into Google, nothing shows up. And yes, my content is all original/unique content. I've even recently added a unique Calculator to my site. site:federalautoloan.com in the search bar shows results for all of my pages... but it just seems as though Google does not like my site for some reason. At least in Organic. The odd thing is, none of my other sites have this problem. Do you guys have any advice? The only thing I can think of is that somehow my 301 redirect was performed improperly. Yes, I had a permanent redirect performed on my site about 4 months back. The URL we were using prior just wasn't performing as well in Paid Search. But seeing as how that is the preferred method by Google... I'm really at a loss... Again, my site is FederalAutoLoan.com. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Even generic SEO advice would be appreciated. Edit: Two other things to note... I have plugged my site into the SEOmoz Pro tool... the tool is not showing any issues for my site. I am also making use of Google Webmaster Tools and the only error that shows up for my site is a Soft 404 for one of my pmcs... Not sure why it is even pulling one of my pmcs... but as far as I can tell, there really shouldn't be any problems. Note on the 404 for anyone who might give a response on that issue... http://www.seoconsultants.com/tools/headers returns a 200 OK response. Edit2: Question presented below.
